read the manual for the UNO ---its at the back in glossary--explains everything !!!
    DVB-S QPSK: Auto, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8
    DVB-S2 QPSK : 1/2, 3/6, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10
    DVB-S2 8PSK : 3/5, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10
It can be either since it has to do with phase modulation and not the encoding itself, as in the way it is transmitted and not the way it is encoded.
FEC : FORWARD ERROR CORRECTION:the sender adds redundant data to its messages. This allows the reciever to detect and correct errors without the need to ask the sender to send more data...
8psk: is usually the highest order PSK constellation deployed.with more than 8 phases, the error rate becomes too high and there are better more complex modulations such as quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM)....

    tranquilo compañero ;)
Understood your message perfectly Fogonero ,thanks.
But I am obviously not doing it right as I still get no response to: cat/proc/version
So I have overwritten with previous drivers and still get same response: not found
I don´t think it´s a problem,,,but curiosity so will play around with it some more.. ;)

OK -following Fogonero´s suggestion (thanks;)) :
    ipkg list_installed | grep vuplus-dvb-modules
    I got a response: 2.6.18-7.3-r19-20110708
    after I tried :cat/proc/version
still comes up with the answer : not found
    ¿ Does this sound right??
    Thanks for all suggestions

if you install these drivers you may need to run the following command in a telnet session to get them to boot., due to a module dependency change.
    Code:depmod -a
    Did nothing ¿¿??
with this command verify the version of the drivers we have installed by typing telnet:
    Code:cat/proc/version
    Says : version not found
¿is there something amiss or am I missing the plot???lol
Bearing in mind the originals in the box are dated 23/7/2011..so I wonder if thats why I don´t notice any change??

It seems to me that you have answered your own questions :CCcam is one protocol of conditional access software modules CAMs or emulators that emulate the CA systems.
CCcam 2.2.1 is the latest version which is fine for some local cards.
for some other cards they need a different reader ,for example sbox, mgcamd.
For other cards to be read correctly then oscam would be the reader and linked to CCcam 2.1.3(which seems to be the most compatible stable version for some)
so ,first you decide which local card you are going to share then find the best compatible configuration for it.
you only need ONE version of CCcam to run(and any other emu as a reader if CCcam cannot do the job properly)
If you download an already prepared channel settings list ,(which includes bouquets(lists) of channels) then there is no need to scan for channels( I use catseye E2 for UNo + catseye E1 for DM500)this is a personal choice.
as for crossepg, etc ,you need to read the relevant posts.
E2 and all its images/settings/possibilities are new to me (look at my recent posts) so I´m in a learning process just like yourself and I think the best way of learning is reading then trying things out myself !!
I´m looking forward to reading about your experiences !!
    caz;)

Bearing in mind that multli quick button can be adjusted and personalised but I am curious of how the rest of you have yours setup?
There are the default buttons but I wonder if anyone has changed them around and to what purpose?

It takes a wiseman to realize that trial +error = experience !! Although it´s very frustrating take your time.
Although you haven´t set up the signal yet, there are so many other things to try out and setup....
so go ahead,,,take your time reading then go step by step,, you´ll soon realise that things start to fall into place eventually ;)
    caz ;)

If we wanted to be legally correct them most of us would be lining the pockets of News Corp !!
When I had a well known blue card from an english provider on full pack I still accepted shares of the same card, this allowed me to see ALL the available channels
That is my point,,,in your case you didn´t have the FULL package ,so you opted to c/s....but if someone has a full card
¿why the need to look for another one?? example if you have a music card then no need to look for another peer with the same music...

One of the great things about the Enigma2 based receivers is that your able to add USB Tuners to the existing tuners supported in your receiver. Especially the BlackHole Team Images for Vu+ offer great support for many different USB tuner models.

Using an USB tuner you can add an additional tuner and it does not have to be the same type as those inside your Vu+ receiver. Say you have a Vu+ Solo2 you have the built in twin DVB-S2 but you want to receive terrestrial or cable television also on it you are able to add this via an USB Tuner.

Here is what it looks like after adding a Terratec HTC USB Tuner Stick to a Vu+ Solo2.

As you can see we now have a third tuner in our tuner settings. We not have to install any drivers or anything. It just works and we had no trouble scanning and viewing DVB-C channels using this USB Tuner.

Depending on the connection layout on the rear of the receiver, and the size of your USB tuner Stick, you may need to use a small USB extension cable but keep it as short as possible as longer cables can cause issues.

Using my specific USB tuner stick was not possible on a Vu+ Solo2 without an extension cable or I could not fit the Ethernet or HDMI cable.

Which USB tuner that are supported depends on the Image you use. The Blackhole Images are widely accepted as being the leader in this area.

We will only recommend the USB Tuner for Free to Air channels. As far as we know using USB tuners for encrypted pay-tv channels are usually problematic. Also note that channel zapping takes a little longer using an USB tuner.

Sundtek if you want to be safe

Sundtek USB tuners seems to be supported by most Image Teams. I did try the same setup using the Terratec USB tuner on the latest ViX Team Image where it was not detected.

¿ why would a peer have 2 cards of the same providor with different packages?? ( with the exception of maybe using a multiroom card as a local)
¿why would a peer with so many local cards want to get into exchanging with other peers?? ¿surely it would be much simpler? not to mention legally correct?? to simply cancel one providor sub to contract another?? as you say : for instance a *** italia card can be grabbed for £150 at mo on ebay for 6 months prepaid which is cheaper than most
Also ,if it were truly from the point of view of studying said encryption systems, even today´s noob knows that this cannot be done coherently...
At the end of the day ,it´s down to each peer how + what they use their system for BUT c/s is exactly that : an exchange between two consenting peers to exchange their pakages/providors ,etc ....
which brings me back to the first question : If you already have more than one card ¿why bother c/s ???

    just my tupence ;)

try it out ,,in your CCcam.cfg add a # (its on the same button as Nº 3 on my keyboard,by pressin ALT Gr and Nº 3 button)
infront of the last peer you added so it looks like this #F : user pass ,,,,,this will stop the peer having access to your shares + #C: host ...... to stop recieving from the peer (presuming they havent entered your box because you changed the default password)
reboot the system and you might see some difference.....
post your results so we can help you more if needs be ;)

Fellow users: sorry for this sermon but I feel it neccessary to clear somethings up.

Suggestion :read + read + read some more ,then go off for a cuppa then re-read again...come back to your setup + something will eventually click...or try do something else...
remember that most of these accomplishments have been achieved by hours, days, weeks, months even years of trial + error.
this is a nonstopping forum where the users "share" their knowledge and experience,, sometimes a post doesn´t get answered (straightaway) simply because nobody has had that experience or knowledge.
take your recent posts as an example , I am more or less in the same boat as you ( a noob with vu+) but the only posts you have read from me are suggestive helps... I am trying out all possibilities to the best of my knowledge after reading from other´s experience !!
This is not a criticism ,simply a pointer in the right direction ( in fact it doesn´t even belong in this section, but I´m sure the admin will accept it)

    you wrote :

    and wing39 answered you:
Lads sorry to interrupt you but for Usals you don't need the advanced option since you only use one LNB
You only use advanced DiSeqC when you use more than 4 LNB's on a Multifeed holder

    Go to Menu->Setup->Find Services->Tuner Setup

    Choose Rotor

    Set your Latitude and Longtitude

    I hope this will help

    Regards

    Wing
    then he wrote some more:
    Menu->Settings->Find Services->Tuner Configuration->Ok->Simple-> Rotor
put in your coördinates Latitude Longtitude ->Ok
    Give it a try

Now at the moment I have eventually got my UNO to move the motor,,,,
this is how I did it ..
Menu->Settings->Find Services->Tuner Configuration->Ok->Simple-> positioner ( as i dont have the option of rotor)
then positioner setup ,,tune (press red button on tune) to manual transponder ( for example freq 11836 horizontal)
exit then move down to positioner fine movement :here you can step west(greeen button) or step east (yellow) until it locks onto a signal.
I dont know if positioner storage is needed but scroll down the same menu to positioner storage 1
then exit - yes- -exit-exit until you have main screen with hopefully a crystal clear picture ;)
saying all this I still haven´t had the time to test the rest of the sats to findout if my position 0 is correct to my geographical coordinates..
    that´ll be tomorrow ;)

This is based on a two-way conversation between an expert (him) and a complete noob (me)to vu+ (in this case UNO)
apart from being a complete noob to this, I also thought of you others who will have to try out the same one day ;)
    read slowly:
