have you got a sat list installed ? It might stay on splash if it hasn´t got a channel list...just a possibility
otherwise A reflash of your personal backup or a previous version should sort it out for you bud..
I recall reading some time back on site about latest version giving problems..

I just need some expert guidance that`s why I`m here and that`s why this forum was made in the first place to guide the inexperienced. Not to humiliate them by ignoring them and their posts.
This forum was set up to share information and experience from the goodwill of fellow users.
Borrowing your expression that even a simpleton can see that you have been given A1 treatment and diverse suggestions/recommendations.
If you consider that a measly 6 to 8 hours is a lot of time spent, my understanding of this is you are missing the point of this hobby.
In fact to the point that I consider you are looking for something for nothing and feel somehow deceived or let down.
Arrogant keyboard warriors are "persona non-grata" on this site either so I suggest you take a step back,
look at what you have/haven´t achieved to date.
If you do not feel comfortable on this site then you are as free to leave as you were to enter.
