    Chances are this will be IPTV mate, The new encryption is just like Sly Italia, Paired to the box for HD and using NDS certified hardware and software to further encrypt the stream. (Possibly ICAM encryption + NDS Videoguard, not confirmed but looks that way)


    Unless the sat manufacturers pay NDS to include their hardware standards in their own boxes, it's not going to happen overnight. And before anyone flames me, NDS will probably never come to Marketable Sat boxes.

    IPTV is going to make huge leaps and bounds in the next few months/years, especially with Sly looking to stream all content to the q box rather than use satellite, it won't be long before thats cracked.


    From what I have seen and heard it looks like most UK IPTV and CS is powered by Virgin for the most part, It won't be long before hdcp and a new Nagra key is introduced to combat it, and lockdowns of the IPTV streams such as Sly GO and Virgin TV anywhere.

    just a quick update for you guys, Sky is still running the deal but its now 33% off rather than half price, making it £55 for the complete bundle for the TV, This is exactly the same price as Virgin if you already have internet with VM.


    I have just taken the plunge into Virgin again as it's better quality and I prefer their boxes :P


    Still using my VU+ for Euro sats though, DISEQC is on the list next!

    Can't really say much about these but they are suitable for portability, Remember its usually setting it up that's a pain if you don't have your phone with the sat finder app handy haha

    Music and documentaries and some XXX are still under the (Old?) encryption methods.


    I have only just got back into the Sat game after selling my wetek play to a friend, My VU+ DUO Is hooked to 2 dishes, one at 19.2, and one at 28.2. The 19.2 is a portable 50cm dish and works wonders!


    It was a shock when I got given a c-line from a friend and they said remember sly is off now, But as many have said, You still can watch HD sat in europe for free ;)


    Sly DE and HD+ as well as Austriasat and a few others on 19.2e all have good quality channels from music to documentaries to sports, Eurosport and more in english too if you know where to look.


    I know nothing about encryption standards as do half the people who own said boxes and use cardsharing. But it will one day rise again, Give it time.

    I have managed to get my hands on a VU+ DUO for £60, needs the power caps doing because it has intermittent "Red light" faults, but the seller is including these.


    I will have an update here to tell whether it is genuine or not when it arrives next week.

  • Looking for a good Linux based Sat box

    The main reason for me wanting only dual tuner boxes is because I have 2 dishes, Instead of using DISEQC for motorised dishes, I installed another dish pointing at 19.2, and my main at 18.2, hence the dual tuners.


    DVB-T/C is not a must, only an option.


    Also, thanks to those that have suggested boxes, there is some good choice there for me.

  • Looking for a good Linux based Sat box

    Hi everyone.


    I have dabbled with a good few boxes recently, I originally had Dreambox DM 500S , and decided to upgrade as picture quality and being stuck with DVB-S is a bit rubbish in todays age.


    I then tried a (sadly cloned) Vu+ Solo and that was alright but still incredibly unstable (I get if it was official it would be super stable and better quality)


    And after that I tried a Wetek Play with OpenATV installed dual tuners. That was good but I had to sell up.



    I have in the region of £100 to spend, and dont mind if used or not.


    My main requirements is it must be DVB-S2 and a dual tuner.

    I would prefer if it can run Openatv or Openpli, and want it to have a good picture quality.

    It must be compatible with Cccam or oscam.


    My optional perference would be if I could have multi tuner and have a cable/Terrestrial connection.



    I'm sure theres a plethora of devices, but I am unsure where to start.

    I only have the Micro SD the ATV image is on for the wetek. Nothing other than that satellites and my amplifier are plugged in, Running off wifi as LAN crashes the box

    Okay update: In an attempt to fix the cam I updated it to 11xxx, and it has since solved the issue.

    Okay. Tried Syntaxes as shown:


    P: 1843:000000

    p: 0963:000000


    Tried with DVBAPI set to "Try all CAIDS one by one". No luck, Still freezing except on HD+, Still getting "Not found" or "Rejected".


    Also tried with a slimmed down Reader setting of just oscam and my user/pass and no change at all. All it did was remove it from the Web reader listing so I couldn't edit it online, only from the file.


    Latency shows naywhere from 2ms up to 3000ms when watching HD+ which then results in timeout/freezing. No ecm is good at 3 seconds lol

    So I have had my Wetek Play on OpenATV for a few weeks now, and run OSCAM 10943 as this is the latest I could find on this forum, the 11xxx builds don't seem to work for me :/



    Before we begin, I want to make it clear I do not use, nor condone payservers.


    I have a line as part of a small group of hobbyists much like those on Linuxsat that often scour the sats to see what goodies we find.


    Scenario:


    I have my Wetek set up so that there is 2 dishes attached, one for 28.2E Sly, and one for 19.2E ASTRA.


    I want to watch Sly UK, and then on 19.2 I want to be able to receive Sly DE, HD+, MTV Networks, and more.


    I have managed to get oscam to register the line properly now, whereas before it kept disconnecting with a generic "error" and throwing random numbers of cards into play, Strange, I know!


    Only downside is that Sly UK, and DE are freezing for anywhere from a couple of seconds to minutes on end and are totally unwatchable, and the only smooth channel I have managed to receive is Deluxe Music HD on HD+, no freezing at all, however the rest of the HD+ package is unviewable.


    I have tried multiple different settings on the OSCAM server, DVBAPI, even changed line settings and nothing is solid enough to view. I know it is not the line or my card because I can use both on my friends VU+ clone I set up for them and that does not freeze at all.

  • Astra 19.2E + Sly UK 28.2E FULL Bouquet [xXBeefyDjXx]

    So after wanting to set up my Wetek play with E2, and have 19.2E and 28.2E in full with regional channels, I set up my own list based around the Catseye and Autobouquets lists.


    Zip is password protected. Pass is at bottom of post :)


    This bouquet is set up so that the Sky UK Regional Channels are set to Central West, however may be changed just like catseye with a simple click of your EPG, or under DreamboxEdit.


    I have included a full set list below of all providers included on what satellite (In Bouquet order)
    The list includes all HD and SD Variants, and for Sly UK the list has been generated for SD

    I hope to make this bouquet in such a way that Autobouquets will update the 28.2 side as per the users pre set scripts after installation of Autobouquets, This is on the backburner though.


    I also hope to somehow do a way that 19.2E will autoupdate too. For now this is manual, but not a huge issue.

  • Best way to set up Wetek Play for multi satellite use?

    Hi guys!


    I recently got a Wetek play with the dual tuner setup and it came with android.


    I decided though Android was a nice touch, I wanted to use the Satellite feature to watch TV from both 28.2E and 19.2E meaning Android was not the right platform for me unless I went IPTV, but thats not what I want.


    Knowing about Enigma and Openelec + TVheadend I went on a mission to set up TVheadend first, and found that I cannot for the life of me get the correct channels to show for 19.2e.


    It was firstly refusing to scan (Misaligned dish, sorted perfect now 80%+ signal even in bad weather), and now that it is doing so, It is not picking up half of the channels I wish to receive, such as the HD+ Bouquet, ARD Digital, Sly DE and so on. I only seem to pick up spanish bouquets and Canal France/Netherlands (I think?). (Before anyone says anything, yes I know they are Encrypted, but I do not even have a bouquet to make a channel list. They are not being scanned in a set list).


    On 28.2e, no problems, All sky bouquets picked up and my region selected, perfect.


    I also managed to set up OSCAM with a European C/N line and it is a little hit and miss? Sometimes it's perfect, sometimes it is glitchy or refusing to find ECMS meaning no tv :( (Tried multiple lines from multiple sources just to test)....


    I managed to find a preset list of 19.2e bouquets someone had compiled and they worked perfectly, Showed in kodi alongside the 28.2e list and was good, but now kodi keeps locking up completely and oscam is still freezing. Even though tvheadend is hosted on the same box the time taken to channel hop or even start tv from the menu is longer than expected, is there anything I can do about that too? (Timeshifting enabled on sd card doesnt help but disabling/rebooting made no difference)

  • At the end of my tether with E2

    I brought a GI s8120 a while ago and sold it to a friend to use with openATV and the 19,2e satellite, but on both the cam (Oscam) and free channels, it keps glitching, freezing and locking up.


    I replaced it with a vu+ clone because they do not mind, so long as it works. and I now have the GI back again...


    All I want to do, is use my Cline, and the GI on e2 with autobouquets on 28.2e. Easy, right?


    Nope.


    The box tool open atv fine but when you install and run Autobouquets-e2, it runs the bouquets tool but does not save the channels. Also, the Softcam feed manager I found on here works, but none of the compatible cams for the box work without glitching (Using MGCAMD at the moment)


    Can someone please end my suffering, and provide me with a STABLE E2 image for the GI S8120 (I believe the Amiko Alien mini hd runs the same firmware as these if that helps) that has a working AutoBouquets for Sly UK and a working cam that does not freeze????


    Much appreciated if anyone can help. and I know it's probably posted in the wrong section, but it's just ecause there are multiple topics in one.
