Install instructions for new OE2.5 DreamElite 7.1 images...
Copy folder "transmission-daemon" to your /etc folder on dreambox.
Copy contents of "/etc/systemd/system" to your /etc/systemd/system folder on your dreambox.
Copy the .deb to the /tmp folder on your dreambox...
Open an SSH terminal to your dreambox...
apt install libevent
dpkg -i /tmp/*.deb
rebootSorted
Very long wait for this from DreamElite, will be installing and trying out myself later.

Just a small extra step to get it working with the Newnigma2 OE2.5 images.
Open an ssh to your dreambox
Type in the following...
apt install libcurl4
Let it install, it might pop up an error message during install but it should be fine.
Next, type in...
systemctl status transmission
This will check if its now running, if it is not then type in...
systemctl restart transmission
All should be fine then.
Hi. Installed and upgraded today to latest update, using Dreambox Dm900.
Having problems installing Samba through the settings page/network usual way. It starts the install, restarts enigma2 and then nothing, samba not installed. Will let me try again and again to install it but each time the same thing, restarts the box but never actually installs it.
Can I check log files or something to try find out what's going on (and where are those log files)?
I see on the other post here how to enable logs/debug and location of same so I'll do that first and see can I figure it out from there.

It's the complete lack of ability to have an internal Hard Drive that put me off, I'd otherwise have bought one myself.
Copy "transmission-cli_2.92-r0.0_armhf.deb" from archive to the /tmp folder on your dreambox.
Install this via plugins menu on your dreambox, preferable to install this way rather than via SSH.
Restart Dreambox

Access Transmission now via web on your http://YourDreamboxIP:9091/
Tested working by myself on SatLodge, NewNigma2 and Merlin OE2.5 based images.

Does the Dreambox One recognise Ext4 formatted hard drives externally connected via USB3 ?
I was thinking of getting a Dreambox One but all the user reviews have put me off + very little third party image support.
I've a DM900 at the moment but am stuck with DreamElite as the only real proper stable image and that hasn't been updated since last year.
I wanted to run Plex media server on the Dreambox One (with Android on it) but I'm not sure if that's even possible, just using a Nvidia Shield at the moment for plex server but it struggles.
Just because it's ridiculous the amount of clone images, can we stick them all in one thread only or get their own forum away from originals?

I guess so.
I use a HD in the dreambox for movie storage which Plex then accesses to share the files, along with using as Transmission Torrent server so I can use the mobile to download torrents direct to the Dreambox HD without needing a PC being on.
I also use the HD as a NAS for backing up photos and files from my own mobile + family members' phones doing the same.
So a HD is important for me anyway and USB is too slow, especially for multiple access.
I would've upgraded to it otherwise, oh well.

As long as it has 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, it is good enough for hdd.
USB is rubbish compared to having proper HD support.

Not sure if just affecting this image or a problem in general with DM but my router firewall picked up and stopped the following attack coming FROM the dm900 and this image, similar to a botnet type, one time thing... Just thought I'd mention it.
