    OLM-FNC updated!

To continue using OLM you need to register on https://soap2day.com (registration is free)

    - install addon

    - restart e2

    - open /etc/enigma2/fnc_olm_config.cfg and enter username/password in appropriate fields

    - save config file

    - restart e2

    Download ipk: http://pur-e2.club/OU/images/index.php?dir=Plugins/OLM-FNC/

To initialize subtitles press Subtitle or Text or RED button on your RC to start search and download.

But before that go to 'Plugins/SubSupport settings' and setup some options for preferred languages, etc.

OK, yet another little coup by PurE2 Team... :cool1:

gorski could you request the team to include in feeds xupnp and udpxy.

This was not easy to compile but - as ever:thank_you2: - PurE2 is the most resourceful team around... :rasta2bigsmoke0gf1:

On the one hand, udpxy is in PurE2 feeds.

On the other hand, xupnpd is not a simple matter, in terms of making a recipe.

Maybe it will be useful but the settings must be done over telnet and via FTP:

    http://xupnpd.org

Anyway, it'll be in our feeds in a few days but...

And don't forget to buy the team a beer, from time to time, it's good for one's soul... :beer1:

Dependencies are one thing - should be installed beforehand, if the image does not have FFmpeg package etc. - but the after-installation files are also needed, once you start the E2iPlayer for the first time...

Now, that also must be housed somewhere and hopefully up-to-date. All that must be taken over by the new project (forked from the original one) and link must be updated in E2iP...

    Or have I misunderstood?

    1) Use Mini Tool Partition Wizard in Windows to partition your USB stick: make 2 partitions in EXT4 format:

-2GB to move the root (/) from the limited 256MB flash to the USB stick

-the other partition will use the rest of the space for picons, Buffer, Cache, subtitles etc. etc.

    2) Use another USB stick to flash PurE2 v. 6.2.

    3) Find my thread on how to expand the H9 small flash to USB stick/mSD card.

    4) Move root to USB stick's smaller partition - now you have 2GB of space for all sorts of plugins etc.

    5) Next, find my thread re. how to mount HDD/SSD properly etc. (all the relevant info is mostly in PurE2 section)!

    6) Then, try recording by pressing the small round red dot button and tell us what options you get...

    Yeah but...

    Code

SSS was adamant he will not allow any XXX stuff in IPTV Player/E2iPlayer and if you see that in it - it's not his version!

And then, he was running a "tight ship", as in iron fist approach, i.e. the total control was in his hands...

I can see how that might have irritated other coders and how they may have splintered...

Perhaps opening up the project and more contributions might rejuvenate it all?

Let's hope it doesn't die a horrible death by thousand cuts...

On the other hand/however/be that as it may...

Developments around a SH4 platform once came up with > DuckTale project, which had FFmpeg at its core, I think...

Then, an "All Russian Project" (ARP) made an FFmpeg based E2 image for STi 7111/7162 and that was quite something!

SSS is from that mindset: FFmpeg/Exteplayer3 are reducing the RAM footprint and weaker, older machines can benefit, for sure...

BUT!!! Nowadays we have a much stronger HW on offer for less £$€ and so in some machines some coders have removed the FFmpeg package (Edision OS mio 4K, for instance, in PurE2) and generally speaking all was working well...

Also in the meantime, Gstreamer - thanx to a robust community development, especially of a stubborn individual who kept on learning (similar to SSS in that regard) and pushing the project forward from OpenPLi v. 0.1 to v. 1.16 now and onward - things may have changed and perhaps FFmpeg/exteplayer3 might be less necessary, thanx to these developments, both HW and SW wise, which happened in the meantime?

Once, long ago, there was hope that it all should be done based on FFmpeg, like Kodi, which worked really well when it comes to streaming and playback - but this was never done properly, sadly...

Anyhow, from what I can see, this was a great project, nice to have seen it, great while it lasted but the hobby neither started, not will it end with its demise, if it happens...

We'll see if somebody worthy will pick up the development. If not, I presume it will not hurt the hobby, given the developments of late, it seems to me...

    We plough on... ;)

I would be a bit more careful, if I were you, since we really don't know him.

After I had a few run-ins with him - thinking the man is rude, crude, has no manners and behaves like an ultra prima-donna, extra sensitive when it's him and utterly insensitive when he deal with others - I started thinking he is ASD.

Given that ASD is a life-long condition we can not do much about, we did not choose but were borne with it, one should be a little bit more charitable to such people, I think... And I should know, since my son is on the spectrum...

I've been told that FFmpeg package is not put into PurE2 by default, as it is functioning really well without it.

However, if one needs it, the easiest way to install it is by going to:

MENU > pManager > Most popular plugins to install > FFmpeg...

Try this in C-line, i.e. in the server config file:

    disablecrccws_only_for = 0E00:000000;1811:003311,023311,003315,003341,00331B,000007,000107;1819:00006D;0500:030B00,032830,050F00;09C4:000000;098C:000000;098D:000000

If your server has CacheEX and your OSCam Emu is configured well - it should be OK, with minimal freezing, very rarely (from my experience)... ;)

Creativity and stability sometimes do not go hand in hand...

Not that I would defend those who sell the work that is given freely, as SSS has certainly done from the right reasons, giving us all his IPTV/E2i Player (and more) from the best possible grounds... And we all thank him for that sincerely!

It's just that he can't understand this behaviour will continue no matter what he does...

    C'est la vie...
