Correction: F3 (bottom right on RCU) does the same thing, too...
The thing is in Pure2... after clicking the subtitle button... there's no indication to click red button to choose intern subtitles
I just figured out on my Alien2, which I just got back after a couple of years, that in boxes which do not have a subtitle button - red button does the trick... Silly me, I forgot about that completely, since all my boxes have either a subtitle button or blue button works for subtitles...
Plass-FNC updated in 6.5...
New version for Alien2/STi 7162 - results of my test...
...fixes from the results of the first test included, thanx to Delfi (I think :cool1: )...
amikoalien-PurE2-6.5-20200225_usb.zip
PurE2 image v. 6.5 for testing, flashing procedure and structuring of PurE2 is already detailed above, in the first test, not to have to C&P all that...
Flashing was uneventful, less flickering of the screen, straight forward...
Structuring, mounting devices/partitions, RAM and ROM expansion with Flash Expander and Swap Manager 2 as above, all fine. Results:
-bash: warning: setlocale: LC_TIME: cannot change locale (C.UTF-8): No such file or directory
-bash: warning: setlocale: LC_TIME: cannot change locale (en_GB.UTF-8): No such file or directory

So far, so good!!! All flying, no loss of image on TV screen when in WebIF etc. Mounts in Device Manager are OK after reboot etc. etc.
Clean bill of health! It's a miracle, such an old machine and yet...
But now the next phase of testing - with FNC plugins, streaming, Sat TV, playback...
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Guess what!!!! VPN works!!! And everything through it works!!!!
All are equally slow, it seems, due to an old and weak processor but even with a Croat VPN server - Filmler worked with Full HD 1080!
Iwaatch works! xHamster works... A MIRACLE!!!
I kid you not! Look:
The only problem I found so far is with YIFY and Streamlord!
Maybe it's fixable, maybe it isn't - it matters not! This oldie but goldie is still a great box, period!
Hat down to Delfi, Terra and Franc!!!! WOW!!! WHAT A JOB!!!
Not strange, it seems, if PIDs were incorrect etc.
Sometimes lists are not correct or corrupted.
We differ in position on Earth, hence...
I always do additional scanning... ;)
Changed the cable?
Try settings other than HDMI in Video (Wizard), just in case...
Settings in TV?
Seems correct. Anyone else?
I presume that the "problem" might be inside the emulator... ;)
HDMI CEC is ON (I hate it but if it helps...)?
Try it on another TV, check the cables, change the HDMI cable, try at your friend's place, perhaps...
Does it have electricity, does it power up?
Every such product occasionally arrives dead or faulty. Rare, very rare but it happens... So, check and double check and if nothing is happening - it will be replaced...
Put them up here and we'll see...
GoTh in OLM:
For subtitles press SUBTITLES or blue button...
As explained elsewhere (link in my post above) first you go to Subtitles settings and configure it...
...then Search...
Results...
One can speed up or slow down (= sync) subtitles and A-V by pressing the TV button and then using < and > buttons as needed. Once sync is achieved one can press EXIT button and enjoy...
Then, it is possible to FF or RW using 1, 4 and 7 buttons to RW and 3, 6, and 9 to FF.
===============THE REST===============
I don't have Vu boxes, sorry... SEARCH function m8... (Writing good quality drivers is not a Vu strength FWIK...)
As you can see, you can download subtitles from the internet easily... Whatever it is, more or less... You have "Manual search" option there, just read the options on the screen and you will figure it out...
Good luck!
P.S. Search function is your saviour... Either that or my threads...
:cool1::tongue1:
:rasta2bigsmoke0gf1::hello
And this DE should be in our feed, since the one attached actually works, if a little slowly, in deleting files etc.... ;)
"Btw, just a note, it seems that dmm 9x0 cannot play certain FHD (1080p) or 4K streams like some other boxes (filmler etc). Nothing to do with us, but inadequate drivers. Sorry. It seems that 720p is max for these boxes."
F*&%ing DMM, if that's the case...
Speaking of which...
Tromo says:
"OK, now that most of the drama with 4k Vus and 9x0 Dmms is over (thx again to you all), a small note about new yify-fnc in 6.5.
Of course, this is relevant only for those with VPN or users with lenient and more tolerant internet providers.
Yify-fnc is quite complex plugin that can put some strain on the box. In the v6.5 images from 24.2.2020, there is a new version of engine that lies under the hood (well, bonnet:) ). It is still not properly tested, but we do hope it would demand less memory and flash real estate.
If one does experience a slow down of E2 after playing a movie, restart of GUI/E2 should fix it. Internally no drama with that issue, but then again, tested so far on pretty new and powerful boxes.
Hopefully soon available for most boxes."
Also:
"A small tech note about 6.5test images; sometimes (especially after 24.2.2020 dated images) it may **not** be enough to do a simple SW update.
The reason for this inconvenience/annoyance is that actually almost every single byte has changed under the hood and a simple SW update just won't cut it.
Luckily, backup of System Settings is not hard to do.
Thx again to all."

I have F500HD and it doesn't have more than 1080i - but I set it up like this, hence my post...
EDIT: with Estuary and other skins I mentioned in another thread.... ;)
Hmmm... Let's see if this helps...
MENU > pManager > Video/OSD/Skin > Skin position setup > change the 4 bottom parameters to move the skin to the best position...
The position is OK the second you first see red line on the edge of the screen - do the same for all 4 sides...
Save, exit and try the MENU again...
Voila! :)
