Before starting the procedure below, ensure that the USB stick is formated FAT32 and has no other files on the stick!

    Preparation
    1) Download the 'et6000-bootloader-20111020' file in the ET6000 menu on this website.
    2) Unzip the downloaded file then 'et5000' and 'et6000' folders will be appeared.
    3) Copy those two folders into the USB Medium

Insert the USB medium into either USB sockets on the front or rear panel.
Power Off and Power On the box through the powerswitch at the rear panel of the box.

After Power On, ET6000 is detecting if there is ET6000 bootloader available on the USB medium.
When the yellow/orange led shines then there is ET6000 bootloader detected.
To load the ET6000 bootloader you'll need to press the up button on the frontpanel.
When the green led will shine together with he yellow/orange led then the box is loading the bootloader.
Please be patient because it will take couple of minutes to finish upgrading.
When the yellow/orange led will disappear then the box is finished upgrading the firmware.
The box will startup automatically after the upgrade is finished.

    -Warning-
During upgrading, please don't unplug power or shut down STB.
Don’t power off within 5 seconds after upgrade is completed.
The frontpanel has 3 leds: RED, GREEN, YELLOW/ORANGE

    -Important Note-
Don’t upgrade the Bootloader and Firmware at the same time.
Make sure that in the USB stick only needed files for either Bootloader or Image should be contained while processing for either Bootloader upgrade or Image upgrade.

built in WiFi is a nice touch

but for the uk its a bit limited as you can only get the basic free to view channels on cable and some of the earlier Sunray SR4 3 triple tuners had Chinese terrestrial tuners and not uk/european standard ones

The vix images released on Christmas day updated the linux kernel to 3.1.1 which really should be a reflash and not a online update.

just update the bootloader first if you have not allready done it then a clean install of latest image and you should be good to go

make sure you backup all your settings first

Updating the epg wont bring back the channels try rescanning the satellite as they have probably changed freq

and you might have to manually edit/add the channels in to your fav list after the scan

Vix is only up to release ViX-2.3.133 with all the on line updates downloaded and instaled

the vix team has released the makefile for vix 2.3 (openvix) so other people can build images from this but any one claiming to build a vix image any different from the version number above is not a image made/supported by the vix team and has not been vigorously beta tested by use so use at your own risk!
