    Hi All,
This problem pops up intermittently on my VU+ duo when it downloads a new EPG. When I select the TV guide it may have no epg info or maybe epg info along side some of the channels listed. However if I scroll down to a channel which has no epg info, press ok to view and then return to the TV list the epg for that channel will now be displayed. At first I thought that the box was not downloading and epg's, however I now think that the problem is displaying the downloaded guide. I am now running BH 1.7.6 but had the problem with an older BH image also. I save my epg's to a usb stick.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi mate,
Success at last. I followed your advise with the 4.9.version at first but as I said previously, no joy.
I then used version 4.4 and followed your instructions via telnet and it installed ok.
Just wondering why installing cccam using total commander never works out for me. I put it in temp folder and it appears to install ok. I can even use the remote and start the cam but nothing happens. Tspanel appears the only way that likes me.

Thanks mckee and all for your help.

Open a putty session and connect to the box with Telnet not SSH, and set a password using the command : passwd

    Hi GeorgeXL,
I had just posted when I thought of the option of changing the password with the passwd command. This worked out fine.
Thanks again for willing to help an old timer.

    Hi mckee25,
    Thanks for your reply,
Put your attached 4.9 ipk in temp folder using filezilla. When I go to install ipk packages and select the 4.9 file I get the notice syntax error. This is different from the notice I got when trying to install 6.1.
    Any other ideas.

    Hi All,
I am trying to install TSpanel on a new VU+ Duo. I manages this before about 2 years ago. However now I have a problem installing it with BH 1.7.6. I downloaded and unpacked 6.1 version and put it in the temp file. When I manually install ipk packages on the box all seems to go ok but I then get a notice which reads
    ' cannot find package dvbapp2-plugin-extensions-tspanel.
Any ideas as using TSpanel in the past is the only way I can install cccam.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,
I have installed BH 1.7.6 on a Vu+ duo for a friend. My problem is when I connect as root in telnet and use the following passwords ( password, dreambox, vuplus or blank ) I get a 'not found notice' or 'access denied' when using putty.
I can ftp to box no problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks mrgmx,
Success at last. The nano /etc/network/interfaces command you suggested did the trick. I got a little confused then I got to the save ctrl + X command as I was presented with some options at the bottom of the page. However I typed reboot + enter and after rebooting all appears back online again. I checked using Gnome also and all settings are now restored in interfaces. Just discovered that 'nano' is necessary for editing etc. Well this old timer has to start somewhere.
    Thanks again.

Yes putty is the correct tool for SSH, you should also have an option in your router menu to assign a static ip address for all devices..

    Thanks master G.
My network interfaces eth0 says static with no subnet or gateway information shown. If I open root terminal and go to /etc/network/interfaces I am not allowed to make changes. I thought that when I log on to root with its password I should then be able to edit or input my own ip configs. Maybe I am going about this the wrong way. Is there any way to roll back linux to an earlier time before I messed up the interface.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks again.

    Hi All.
My X7 HD is locking up recently since I upgraded my broadband service to 50Mhz. If I view a FTA channel for about 20 minutes or so and return to a channel which needs an internet connection the box will lock up and require a reboot. I am running cam 2.0.11. I have installed an 9600 prima at the same location and it runs fine. The problem only occurred when I upgraded to 50Mhz. If I stay on a premium channel all will be ok.
    Any help or suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,
Anybody have instructions on how to install cccam 213 on a DM500 with nemesis image. I cannot find where the url is located in the image. I have found where it is located in Gemini but am running into a brick wall with nemesis.
    Thanks in advance

Hi bud i have debian on my raspberry pi,

    sudo vi /etc/network/interfaces

This is what ive got in my file:-

    Hi crazi,
I followed your instructions and put sudo vi /etc/network/interfaces in root terminal. I am then presented with a list of what looks like a list of previous network interface setups with a time, date and ID number for each entry. The bottom of the page has some options. One of them is R (recover). Is this a facility to roll back to a previous seup. If so how do I go about this.
I want to avoid a total re install of debian to get the network back up and running.

    Hi All,
Just as I thought I had my static IP sorted I messed up all network settings. I was using WinScp and was logged in as root etc/network/interfaces. I changed dhcp to static and it appeared to accept my changes. I then rebooted the server using putty and reboot command. When reboot was completed I could not connect to the server. I had a look at the network settings at the server using the Gnome interface. The IPv4 settings which previously showed the server IP (192.168.1.127) now displays 0.0.0.0.
Is there any way to undo my mess.
I am definitely learning the hard way.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks crazi,
I see yours is static. I need to change mine to static also. What is the best way to change it. I am trying with putty but no luck yet. Is using putty the correct way to go about this.
    Thanks

    Hi all,
I need help in trying to set my debian server IP to static.
I thought I had acheived this weeks back but I was wrong. After server was switched off for a long period it came back on with a new IP address.
I use winScp and can access the network settings but when I change from DHCP to static I get the notice 'cannot overwrite remote file'.
Can I use putty or some other tool to change the setting. Simple instructions please as I am a complete novice.
    Thanks in advance.

Things now seem ok as I finally got above script installed and chmod 755 etc. However if I power down the pc from the mains power the usb will leave 'bus1' and hop to bus 2 or 3 and will not see the smargo. I can only get the smargo working if I install it in a usb 4 port hub. It is then picked up as 'bus1' followed by a device number and all is ok. If I reboot the PC many times it will function properly until I kill the power completely. I have left'' ttyUSB[0123456789]'' as is. Hope this is correct.
    Any advise or guidance appreciated.

Just discovered that the 4 way usb hub I was using was causing my Smargo to hop to a different bus when the server is powered down.
I tried a different 4 way hub and it appears to stick on 'bus' 1 which works fine after a power down.
Any body know why my Smargo will only work when installed in a 4 way usb hub device. I have checked it with the udev rules.file deleted and all appears ok. Should I leave the rules.file installed ?????.
    Thanks in advance.
