    I am using gnome desktop simply because I am not familiar with linux commands. I am a complete novice so using the gui makes it easier for me. I will try and re-install the missing icons.

    Do I have to make any changes to the script.

    My smargo will only work if it is detected in Bus 1. If for some reason it hops to Bus 2 or 3 it will not run. If I keep trying different usb ports eventually it will lock on to Bus 1 and I know in 10 seconds I will have pictures.
    I am really struggling so any guidance would be great.

    Trying to set-up a Linux server for cs. Its running ok but now I get the following during re-boot or start up.


    I get 4 warning notices at start up, which clear when I click on the OK panel on each notice.


    Also get a notice when for example I use gnome and go through system tools ~preferences~ usb settings. Failed to open file '/usr/share/pixmaps//lock.png': No such file or directory.
    Other messages
    Failed to open file '/usr/share/pixmaps//tux-48.png': No such file or directory
    Failed to open file '/usr/share/pixmaps//warning16.png': No such file or directory.
    Any idea.

    Hi,
    I now finally have the above 52_reader.rules in etc/udev. I could only achieve this using FileZilla. WinScp would not allow me to FTP to udev for some reason. Do I need to edit the file or should I be ready to go. If so, I now intend to fit a second smargo. What is my next step.

    Hi newtolinux, Have fallen at the first fence. I have saved the text in programmers notepad (HOPE THIS IS OK) but I am confused about the chmod to 755 part. I remember seeing this during the initial linux install. I have gnome installed on the server. If someone could help me with the process step by step I might resolve this problem.

    I managed to get the server with one smargo running so far. I have gnome gui running so I was able to set the IP to static using this. I now need to lock the smargo to a specific usb port which seems to be the only problem at the moment as it hops all over the place if I remove and re-insert or reboot system etc. Can I use the Gui to to lock the smargo. Thanks in advance.

  • help with bh 1.7.6 cccam 213

    Hi All,
    Just installed bh 1.7.6 on my vu+ duo. All went ok with install but I cannot get cccam running. I unzipped cccam 213 and put it in the temp folder. I have checked and replaced the config file with my c line. I then pressed the blue button and selected start cccam 213. Still no joy. I seem to remember in the past installing stpanel which allowed me to download and install cccam correctly. I tried this approach but in trouble with tspanel install also.
    Pulling my hair out.
    Any advise appreciated.

    I have had a change of plan. I will run CCcam only as this is all I need for my cards. I have some smargo's here that are working so I will give them a go. Do I need to un-install Oscam as I will not need it or will it have any effect on the performance of the server.

    I think I will jump in at the deep end (be ready to pull me out) and leave oscam installed also in my setup. Will I run my two **y cards in oscam and get my hands on 2 omnikeys. Advise me on the best tutorial for installing the omnikeys on the 12.04 server please.

    Now that I have 12.04 installed on my PC with cccam and ocsam also I now want to go to the next step and install 2 smargos. I previously had these running in a 7020 with CCcam. I am wondering if I need to install oscam at all. Because of my limited knowledge in PC's etc I would like to keep things simple.

  • Cannot web browse to PC server

    I will take that on board. I have a spare smargo so I intended trying to get it working first. A friend has 3 smargos which have been working for about a year now, all in the same server. I will take a look at the omnikey. Are they easier to setup.
