load a channel list via lan manager, then at least you will get past the no ch error.
hopefully the ip address will be the same as the default. If not,you will have to load old firmware that the ip address is the default.

factory firmware never has a channel list installed, you have to scan for channels
-
non sequitur
s16 has no ftp function.
scan it yourself and watch tv,a lot easier and you know the channel list is the latest and greatest. -
you have to start from scratch like you did when you first got it.
Set up the antenna and scan. -
that's one of those "my receiver is broken" posts.
No idea what you did or what you want. -
via rs232 is the only true full backup.
via usb there is no option to save cccam.cfg thank the dealers for that. -
don't have one but they say it uses the same editor as the s9-s10-s11-s12 models
-
you get what you pay for.
I'm sure the s10 was just a fraction of the price of the other receiver. -
you can only attempt a transplant between receivers with the same processor and similar hardware, but the protection ic limits the amount of fun you can have. The newer openbox firmwares are encrypted also, with the exception of the s16 which uses even another type processor (m3606)
-
no way man, totally different processor and support chips
-
I guess I may not get any help or support for my box :( unlucky me.
never heard of it
this forum is for the chinese openbox receivers. -
which steak is best?
It all depends on personal tastes. -
I think the format for the s16 is different.
You will probably boot loop the receiver if you use one from another model. -
they probably assume people are using hd tv
-
the august 2012 firmware will kill original boxes, that is why I asked.
when in doubt,don't load it.
Some files are just old firmware with an updated channel list. -
it that for clones only or any openbox?
The last firmware wasted my genuine box. -
you will get scrambled if they moved channels to other transponders and you didn't blindscan.
The receiver is looking for a channel on a certain transponder and if it isn't found it will just say scrambled all the time. -
caps or the varistor
-
s16 had it's own version of the script.ini file for alieditor.
A word to the wise. -
scan it yourself, then you know all the settings are correct and the list is uptodate
