they didn't have the feature back then

d15 uses a different processor
-
I would like to get a full firmware dump from somewhere if possible, instead of just the app upgrade file.
I was lead to believe it is the same processor as the x2 premium hd receiver.
My x2 gives you the option to do a full dump (8meg) to usb. -
looks like anonymousx firmware from jan 5 2012 for the s9 models
-
the bravo remote code bin is longer in length than the openbox, when that happens the colored buttons usually don't work.
One is 536 bytes and the other is 848 bytes, the openbox is only 448 bytes. -
a quote from my other thread on the subject
Quote
I normally decompress and look for the 1A 00 01 04 00 string and change the following 7F 80 to FC 01 then search for "genneral wakeup message" and paste the openbox remote table bin.Sometimes I have to search for system_init_process and backtrack 448bytes. -
the bravo is easy, the remote stuff is in the usual spots but you have to manually extract the maincode from the .abs and decompress edit and recompress.
-
I couldn't find it in the firmware you posted
-
that takes a 4meg .abs file
the firmware in your other post was for an 8meg flash -
so you are trying to run different firmware on the s16?
It is tough finding the remote code in the firmware you posted
You may be better of buying a replacement remote to match or trying to use a universal remote -
lutz diagram Good day, my friend! Be kind, help me. Need to replace the remote code table in firmware. I know you have experience. Firmware on the processor ALI3606. Need to replace the remote code table in firmware to use with an openbox s10 remote. Thanks in advance!
I don't know what the goal is,do you have that receiver and just want to use an openbox remote?
-
forget it then.
the receiver is too new to have support programs yet.
I figured that the editors and loaders were just for ali processors.
The x5 uses the sunplus 1512a instead so it's a whole new ballgame. -
the x5 doesn't use a .abs file, the firmware which first appeared as a file to download via usb is a .bin file.
-
I thought the x5 used the sunplus 1512a processor and lacked a rs232 loader and channel editor
-
Does the x5 even use .abs or .dbs?
-
The "new" s10 actually looked older than the 1st s10 I had.
It had a separate board for the ethernet instead of just being on the mainboard. -
After my chip got corrupt I tried buying a new s10 receiver but it used a totally different protection ic.So I couldn't try to get any info from that chip.It has a 32pin chip instead of the usual 8pin
-
IMHO there will never be a fix for the -- other than being stuck using anonymousx firmware.
That was the reason he developed the modded firmware in the 1st place.
The only alternative is hardware mods or replacing the protection ic that got corrupt, like from a receiver with other problems but that requires surface mount soldering/desoldering which requires expertise and the proper hot air equipment. -
couldn't find it.
it is usually the 448 bytes between the "genneral wakeup message!" and "system_init_process"
11 00 XX XX strings but I couldn't find it.Doesn't look like the usual 3606 firmware to me.
