i have a vu sole se running an openvix image but for some reason when the box starts up the mgcamd willl not automatically start.

i have to manually restart it.

using v 1.38 with a mg_cfg file and a newcamd.list file

not sure what i can do

Has anyone seen a problem where your CAM keeps disconnecting for no reason?

Ive used both MGCAMD & OSCAM on my Solo SE V2 with Cable and in the last few days it just keeps randomly dosconnecting

my server friend has had a look at my settings and there is nothing obvious why this is happening

previously MGCAMD would not auto start so we switched to OSCAM which was working fine till a few days ago.

Anyone seen this?
Coudl it be anything to do with the image?
im running teh latest vix image

I have a VU Solo SE v2 running cable and 2 tuners from 1 physical connection

I am getting pixelation on some HD channels but not all.
SD channels are fine.

I am running the latest Vix image and also recently flashed the box.

My power levels coming in are 7.9 max and this is split to BB router and Solo box.

Any suggestions on what to do here as Im a bit lost now.
Could this be a VU not able to handle twin tuning internally?

I have had a look online as this question has been asked before but I couldnt find the answer.

I am trying to mount my NAS drive to the Solo so that i can watch videos etc from it.

Attached is a screenshot of my settings that i used to mount it with

When I go into the file list to view it I get teh following error

directory/media/autofs/lacie does not exist

what am i doing wrong?

im gonna be super stupid and ask that i assume i dont send the newcamd.list file as it will overwrite what i have and screw my line up?

I have sent the other 3 files to the box
stopped the cam
restarted the cam
and now restarted the box.

recently switched to cable and using a vu solo se v2 with vix image.
not used cable on cs before as always been with sat.
ive had a few issues with pixelation and was advised it could be the signal.

so ive had a look under service searching and signal finder to look for the signal strengths.

i get a screen with 3 elements

SNR
AGC
BER

they are all 0% but the AGC one flickers up to 92% on both tuners.

from the connection point in the front room I have a feed going into a splitter which has a db boost on it and this is split into the box and router.

does it look like I have an issue with my set up?

next thing i was going to try was to flash the box again.

using vix but may be tempted to look at others too

i use a solo se v2 with the latest vix image.
and using mgcamd but every time i turn my box off and back on i have to manually restart the cam
i have tried to remove the plugin and reinstall but this hasnt worked.
any ideas?

just got a solo se v2 and setting it up using Vix image

i am using my 2.5inch hdd that was in my solo 2 previously mounted as media/hdd as it was internal with my solo se now.

as i have to use it EXTERNAL on the Solo se when i mounted it I mounted it as media/usb - which i think is correct

when i go into recording paths to set the default recording path to media/usb/movie I only see media/hdd.
when i click ok in the hope I can create a bookmark to the new location that i want i get no option to do so
all i can do is remove bookmark and that does nothing

is there anything wrong with me trying to use this as media/usb instead of media/hdd

Im about to buy a VU Solo SE v2 to use just for cable.

Does it matter what image i use on this to get the best performance and picture quality for Cable?

dunno if id get that much for the solo 2 now................plus im weighing up whether I can give it to my mum now and get rid of that piece of sh!t S#y box.

I like the VU's so this new solo may be the way to go as I dont need both sat and cable, would prefer to just use cable if possible

silly question

but i assume if i got this box I could use the Vix image and cable as normal?

do you know if there is a preference for which image to use with cable or is there only a preference if you are using the usb tuners?

do you know if the Vu+ Solo SE V2 can be used for Cable?
if i get this working i guess i could always sell the solo 2 to get some money back?

That will give you a single dvb/c tuner, to be able record one cable channel and watch another you would need 2 tuners.... I have read using 2 usb tuners can be an issue and to be fair at 100 quid for 2 tuners you may as well buy another box that will cover your needs

WOS dont have the suntelk in stock and my suspicions are right that i would need 2 tuners.

only thing is being used to the performance of a Solo what else coudl I get that isnt going to cost me the earth?

WOuld like some advice on which USB Cable Tuner to buy as Ive heard different things about Suntek, Vu Turbo and a Sky T330

Other questions

1 - To Dual Record etc do I need 2 Tuners?
2 - What is the best image to use with this or does it not make a difference?

I sometimes have issues with the epg where it is not showing all the data for all channels in now and next

I then try to manually run cross epg on my vix set up
It sometimes works and other times it say downloading but doesn't download any data
The epg is set to download to my hdd

Any ideas

I would like to play stuff that I have recorded on a computer.

I thought using something like vlc player would be enough but this doesn't work.

After I ftp the file across to my computer what should I do

Any suggestions pls

I recently flashed my box and my external storage drive is mapped in mount manager as usb which is what it should be.

When I go to record settings it's set as hdd and will not let me change this to usb.

I click on the option to see if it let's me change but doesn't

What am I doing wrong.

Just checked E4 and E4+1 and neither of them work either

Checked my sat signal and it was showing 70% for first 2 options and nothing for 3rd
