I suggesting, it is may work correct and I sended working example. Now You must fixed OpenPLI image (or wait to someone other fixed this). Thats all.

As you can read on this thread, I have mentioned that Xbox tuner works very well on OpenATV from version 6.4 to 7.4! So the question is not about finding an alternative image but the fact that PLi developers have not tried to fix this problem since 2019 which is the earliest the exact problems I have listed in this thread have been reported on the PLi forum.

The only reason i moved from Oatv after years of use to PLi is because PLi's CI+ functionality especially with 2 modules is exemplary compared to Oatv that developers do not have time for CI+ and with every iteration of the image that feature is squeezed more and more.

Of course I would have fixed the problem if I could without even posting here! but since this problem with Xbox is rather historical, I think I should try other images to find one with the best CI+ as well as xbox compatibility.

I guess if I describe how Xbox tuner is running on Oatv would give everyone an idea what’s missing on PLi.

On OpenATV it’s like that when tuner is plugged in and any kind of restart is performed (GUI/reboot) there’s no initialisation of the tuner, ie no Tuner C is added to the list of tuners. As soon as power-off/on is performed (power cycle) then tuner becomes available in active mode with previous settings intact.

On PLi however the only time tuner becomes available is by plugging out-in tuner’s USB cable + performing an enigma restart. But if doing power-off/on then tuner is lost again and have to do previous steps to bring it back at a visible level in tuner menu but still as Disabled! Which needs to be set manually.

Basically there’s no point to set xbox tuner up since any power cycle of the box will renders it useless, specially if one access their box remotely.

    Sorry for the delay.

So, I did a new flash with no additions, here's the list of firmwares on the box after flashing,

    Code
    root@h9combo:~# ls -l /lib/firmware
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13576 Jul 31 2023 carl9170-1.fw
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 72684 Jul 31 2023 htc_7010.fw
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50980 Jul 31 2023 htc_9271.fw
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 45412 Jul 31 2023 mt7601u.bin
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8192 Jul 31 2023 rt2870.bin
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2048 Jul 31 2023 rt73.bin

    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 31 2023 zd1211

Here's the list of firmwares after running your lines.

Afterward I rebooted the box then activated the debug mode. Attached are the dmesg.logand enigma.20240507.debuglog

I understand your intentions but he didn't really contribute here which should be by providing step-by-step instructions rather than throwing accusations around.

I have to point out again that my box is H9 Twin (first version) which has Two USB ports (rear/front) both full power. There's no ''Blue USB''.

So far my experience has been exactly as described in post 30 when managing to run the Xbox after many restarts then there's the question of stability which has been suggested in following post although it has not worked for me, most likely due to difference in device?

I would shortly create a basic image without any addition then run lines you have posted above, for comparison I'll post firmware logs of before and after of running those lines, then perform a reboot STB. What should happen ideally afterward?

About debugging, what is the sequence of events? At what point do i activate it by restarting enigma in debug mode? before/after running those lines?

You have declined to provide the installation log or dmesg log. Default for PLi is to apply the restore after it reboots following a flash, you have to say no if you do not want to re-install what you had previously installed. Probably why you have extra drivers than what you installed last. I attach my install logs should you wish to compare.

Good luck in your quest. I hope you find a working solution. Be at peace, there will be no further interference in this thread from me

Firstly, I haven’t declined to provide anything! You clearly give me the command for a specific stage, as jenseneverest has done, I’ll provide.

Secondly, when I flash a slot on my box via recovery menu using online flash after booting up I decline any possible restore and I did install all firmwares on the advice of jenseneverest

Finally, problem is that how come on Oatv two drivers needed for this xbox tuner are accessible on the feed and after a reboot tuner is up and running but on PLi have to jump through many hoops to just activate the tuner temporarily! Any solution for this?

Why have you got all the other drivers installed? After flashing new image, you were meant to say no to auto restore.

You will be better off posting on PLi forum so a more robust solution is found. Playing hard to get with information will not help the cause.

You are meant to install drivers and then reboot box. Ideally the device should be connected when the Linux OS boots up.

It seems you haven’t read all the thread!

I haven’t done any auto restore! Tbh I don’t even know what is that!

I was just following what @jenseneverest

was advising me to do which was as followed,

He wanted to see if I have all the needed firmwares which I provided list of them at every stage.

I did post on PLi forum, specifically on PLi 9.0 release thread where others asked questions, no one there responded tho!

Please tell me what information you need and how i can obtain it, I don’t understand how im playing hard to get?!

Please don’t state the obvious! Honestly, you’re suggesting that I have installed drivers and not booted the box or disconnected the tuner!?

You’re talking as if I’ve just learned about E2!?

This Xbox tuner have been around for years and running error and hassle free on Oatv for years, but since PLi has a better CI+ functionality I had to try it and after searching and searching it seems this tuner has not had proper solution on this image.

If you have an advice please provide. I’ve read many posts on PLi forum abandoned from years ago that no one has touched there.

Im thankful of advices I received so far here.

after powering on the Zgemma with Xbox Tuner connected:

    • make system restart (reboot)
    • unplug and replug the Xbox Tuner
    • restart enigma
    • turn on the Xbox Tuner in the settings

After trying above steps meticulously for the second time, now Xbox Tuner is visible and possible to search channels on DVB-C. However, after Power off-on of the box I am at the first stage of above steps. At this point a solution has been given on post #31 when I tried it via WinSCP by creating xbox.conf and modifying rcS.local by adding mentioned lines at the end of the file then after power off-on i'm stuck at boot logo and have to move to recovery menu.

Following is the content of rcS.local file that I add the lines mentioned but result is image not giving green boot light and being stuck on red boot.

So I flashed again to a clear PLi 9.0, then ran all the lines as suggested above and subsequently powered off/on. At the moment there are Two tuner shown and Tuner A is in interfere mode where it shows Si2166D (combined DVB-c/T2).

    screenshot_20240506212914.jpg

So I installed the above firmware, the power-off-on , then disconnecting/connecting USB tuner, then restart enigma.

No changes! Still showing two DVB-s2x tuners. No sign of Tuner C.

Here is the current log of firmware,

I need it for DVB-C as well.

Is the solution post 30 ? or 31 ? or both?

Because I tried to do post 31 but after reboot i was stuck on boot logo and boot on receiver, had to go to recovery menu to flash again.

What do you get with this command:

    Code
    ls -l /lib/firmware

Sorry my fault, a small typo, im missing a dash, try this:

    Code
    opkg --force-depends install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-dib0700 kernel-module-dvb-usb-dib0700

The following were installed, afterward I did a power off-on when box came up in the Tuner section there's no Tuner C but there's no interference with Tuner A either.

    Like this,

    Tuner A: Si2166D (DVB-S2X)

    Tuner B: Si2166D (DVB-s2x)

I flashed a new OpenPLi 9.0 image, didn't install anything and just put the above command in, got the following,

    Code
opkg_conf_load: Couldn't stat orce-depends: No such file or directory.

hi, maybe I don't understand your problem, but I think not to move with the left or right arrow key...to find your DTT...check carefully...no driver is needed.

If I understood correctly, you're suggesting that Xbox USB Tuner will be automatically recognized as the Third Tuner without any additional install of drivers?

On Zgemma H9 Twin there are following tuners on Oatv, OpenPLi as default,

    Tuner A: Si2166D (DVB-S2X)

    Tuner B: Si2166D (DVB-s2x)

    When installing the correct drivers,

    Tuner C: Xbox USB Tuner

is added to the list. My problem is on OpenPLi 9.0 downloaded from recovery menu of the receiver after doing what I mentioned above my first Tuner A changes into DVB-C/T tuner. Without any Tuner C becomes available. It is like an interference.

Hi, I have installed OpenPLi 9.0 on my Zgemma H9 Twin (first version) and now I'm struggling to run my Xbox USB tuner. I have installed ct2-usb-xbox-one-tuner 1.1 from plugin feed, however in the tuner section of the menus my first tuner Si2166D is shown as a combined DVBcT tuner which is incorrect. Basically third tuner which is usually added is missing.

In the drivers section of the plugin feed there are the following related entries,

    ct2-usb-xbox-one-tuner 1.1-r0.0

    dvb-usb-dib0700 1.1-r0.0

The following is not on the feed,

    dvb-usb-mn8847x 1.0-r0

I also tried following commands on another occasion but with the same result as above,

    Code
    opkg install firmware-mn8847x
    opkg install kernel-module-mn88472
    opkg install firmware-dvb-demod-mn88472-02
    opkg install kernel-module-tda18250
    opkg install firmware-dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20
    opkg install kernel-module-dvb-usb-dib0700

Any feedback on where can i find the right drivers would be appreciated.

After a few days using Ci+ Helper 5.5-r0 as well as Slowzap plugin I can not see any changes in my situation and still after 10-12h of uptime of the box the module in slot 1 would become ''module not found''. At this point nothing works but a turn-off/on of the box. I have tried GUI restart and Slowzap force init without any success.

It would be appreciated to have an OpenATV/Ci+ Helper developer's input on this issue.
