    I have 2 x DVB-S2 working and DVB-T that isn't.

When attempting to DVB-T tuner I am selecting the correct region for me (UK) and I am then asking the machine to perform the Auto Tuner function, however it never returns any channels at all. Now the obvious thing is to look at the terrestrial cable, but I have a freeview box (which them Amiko will replace!) which is connected to the DVB-T loop and it works perfectly...I am confused!

Any help or advice welcome - BTW, what does the option to add 5Mhz actually do?

there are some images that works great.
they are on the right way to make a stable e2 image.
look in the download and try a e2 image and see for your self how it`s works.
i am very pleased with the e2 images that came out for the amiko alien 2(sti 7162)
they are working .and yes they have all there bugs but they working on it.

Hi Ben, which E2 image are you referring to?? Is it the Nebula 3??

If you go into MENU - Setting - Network Settings (I think), you enter the IP of your PC and enter Username and Pwd to access the PC (if you need one) then do a search - red button, the Amiko will return your PC (among other devices on your network) select your PC. You then need to select the folder where your media is, asign a drive mapping on the Amiko click to Save. Amiko will then do a test to make sure it can access it - it will tell you if it cannot instantly.

From then on every time you push the 'files' button on the remote it should present the folder contents...I've mapped this to my NAS and it works a treat.

.....we'll be taking pre-orders as soon as we know for sure, the DUO2 will not be out this side of the new year so a little while longer wait on that one.

Have you had an indication of when you'll get a Duo2? and how much you'll charge? Personally I'd like to pre-order it NOW, leaving a holding deposit!

I thought people might be interested to know that Vu+ have posted on their Facebook website that the Solo2 will be released by the end of the year and the Duo2 is in final stages of development.... the post reads

" Thank you for your interests in Vu+ products. Solo2 will be released at the end of this year, while Duo 2 is in the final stage of development. Thank you for your patience in advance! Best Regards, Vu+ Team"

    Hope that helps

Thanks Ben361. That is a shame....although from reading into what you've put could I purchase a SATA cradle with USB output I would connect it this way?? Or can I push a recording onto a NAS?? If I can push it onto a NAS is it easy to setup?

I am in the process of deciding which stb to purchase - there is of course a number to choose from. Currently top of my list is the Alien 2 - triple tuner @ £170 seems good value.

I want to know if it is possible to put a SATA drive in the box?? I've a 500GB SATA sitting in a Media PC which the stb will replace - I plan to transfer it out.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm fairly new to this and I am looking to replace my BT Vision system with a dual / triple tuner satellite system with will allow me to Live watch TV in HD, internet access and a media player to play music and other media from my NAS. It would also be beneficial if the system would allow me to access it remotely - or from outside of my home network.

The systems I am looking at right now are the following

    Vu+ Duo or Duo2
    Dreambox 800SE or 8000
    Amiko Alien 2

I would really appreciate it if people could give me a personalised reviews on any of the above systems OR recommend another system I haven't thought of
