    I got a used VU+Solo box on ebay, not sure if it is genuine or clone as it didnt state. It arrived today and when i switched it on it loaded up the VIX image screen. That is all it does, just shows the image screen and does nothing else. It will flash up the VIX icon in top left corner as if it were loading, i have tried resetting it and using the remote to get something to work but no joy. Any ideas what it might be?

    reflash an image buddy.

    "AVVISO Numero 07

    how long did you keep it in the receiver? the message translated reads.......
    NOTICE No. 07
    Recognition of the Smart Card in progress, please wait SC: xxxx xxx xxxx, STB_ID: xxx xxx xxxx x

    hi buddy, welcome to the forum, as per forum rules please make an introduction post,

    if you have already used FTP to install CCcam.cfg with port 21 and everything is OK it's unlikely to be the port.

    where did you get the image from? normally there are release notes that come with the image, giving you FTP/SSH ports, and passwords etc, may be worth a look

    just been having a poke about, others have had this issue in the past. resolved by re-flashing image.

    Its better to install to usb as installing it to the HDD will cause the HDD to run all the time which apart from being noisy will wear out the HDD a lot faster.

    Nano

    i see what you mean, wouldnt want premature HDD failure. would the process be the same?, just ensure USB is connected to box at all time? its a nice little box and the wife seems to be pleased with it (except all the green screens i caused last night while she was trying to watch a movie haha)

    hi guys, just got my hands on a nbox 5800sx, i have got this to replace my s600hd.

    1. i have installed nebula v2 and have latest oscam running no problem, (fantastic posts by Nano that made it a breeze)

    2. since installing nebula v2 i have had a few green screens etc, (when playing with settings, and when i press the blue 'N' button on remote, i have been looking around the forum and it is suggested that v1 is more stable so i will most likely
    flash that image later,

    i have read that it is possible to install the image to the HDD, does anyone know how to do this?

    regarding the green screens, its beat me. i only have auto bouq and cooltv guide plugins installed, HDD is mounted for recording etc. latest oscam_8916 sh4 connected to my server via C:Line and clearing everything it should.
    so maybe if i install image onto HDD i will get a bit more stability?

    thanks in advance.

    so you think not worth getting extender then lol ??

    my hubs wireless would drop out all the time, all the extender will do is drop it over over a larger area haha,

    i am not saying that the extenders wont work, because they do (my dad has one)

    but i did alot of research on the superhub, and they all seem to suffer with broadband/wireless/port routing. but work fantastic with the broadband only if you know what i mean.

    Just curious is there any reason why this script reboots the complete server at 6.38am (sbin/reboot) whereas your script for Oscam+Cccam install only restarts the Oscam and CCcam processes ?

    it will be in the crontab, in my opinion it is better to reboot the server completely rather than just restart Oscam.

    each to there own however, if you want to just restart Oscam/CCcam just edit your crontab

    use dhcp yes

    use DHCP, you may have a conflict of i.p addresses.

    I have my ordinary uk card which i want to share with friends and family (maybee 10 - 15 people). I also want to exchange this card with other people so i can get some euro channels for my motorised set up. Can my uk card suspect i am card sharing, and if so how? I am going to put my cardshare server on a seperate pc so what are my limit on shares before it will become unstable? I am on a good fast bt-infinity fibre line so speed shouldnt be an issue.
    Thanks....

    read the rules buddy starting with rule #1

    then all your questions will have answers ;)

    thanks for quick response,,, it was working fine before never had any issues. Not sure if adding more clients has tipped it over the edge or if the router is knackered

    how many clients have you got?
    also have you checked your configs?

    Problem just came for me Today ,all working in its own box .but loose premium on server .Still have discoveries etc.is there any help to fix this .Someone please point me in the right direction

    Boo

    if you have put your card back in the original receiver its game over pal.

    this is how my reader config looks buddy.

    [reader]
    label = one
    protocol = pcsc
    device = 0
    caid = 0963
    detect = cd
    ident = 0963:000000
    group = 1
    emmcache = 1,3,2
    blockemm-unknown = 1
    blockemm-s = 1
    blockemm-g = 1
    saveemm-u = 1
    i am not sure if it makes a difference but my EMM configs are grouped together.

    how should i have i set bud? like i said i am still new to this myself, i have since adjusted the readers to block shared, all information is good information,

    heres an example oscam.server and oscam.user that i use. never fails to update my cards....
    yours should be something like this................

    [reader]
    label = one
    protocol = pcsc
    device = 0
    caid = 0963
    detect = cd
    ident = 0963:000000
    group = 1
    emmcache = 1,3,2
    blockemm-unknown = 1
    blockemm-s = 1
    blockemm-g = 1
    saveemm-u = 1

    [account]
    user = example
    pwd = password
    caid = 0963
    monlevel = 1
    au = one
    group = 1,2,3,60
    ident = 0963:000000

    edited reader. as i said, this is an example. it works for me. and i dont claim it will work for everyone..... there is also a working oscam configs section that will give you a more detailed idea.
    @ Mee®kat, i am just trying to give him an indication of what his should like like. i have not instructed him to change his settings exactly like mine. i am still pretty new to this hobby, your post would have been much more helpful if it wasn't so condescending.
