Not sure if I'm posting in the correct section here but here goes:

Anybody know of a timer plugin that I can use to turn off and on my Vu+ at specific times each day/night? I want it to be turned off/ or standy at 1:00 and back on at around 9:00am. Is there anything I can use to achieve this?

I used the automatic full backup plugin but I don't know how to restore it.

When I try to do a restore from the menu, (menu opens when I press the Automatic Full Backup icon in plugins) I press the "Run flash" to start the restore, but get this message: Select parameter for start flash! For flashing your receiver files are needed: kernel_cfe_auto.bin, root_cfe_auto.jffs2 The found files: nothing

I thought I could restore it this way, but apparently not. Do I have to transfer backup to a USB stick and flash it?

I need some help here please -really need to restore this image. I running version 5.3

I just started using the E2iPlayer on my Vu+ Uno and it seems pretty good. I am mostly interested in looking at MLB and NFL. I found a few MLB (baseball) links but can somebodty tell me if there are any links to NFL (american football) ? Doesn't have to be live games -games from yesterday or something would be nice. :)

I have RCSC installed on my Vu+ Zero and stream from my Vu+ Uno. This works very well. I just subscribed to a IPTV provider and have all my IPTV chanels listed in bouquets along with my other favorites on my Uno.

I downloaded the IPTV bouquets to my Zero but they were empty. Anybody know why? Is there a work-around to make this work?

A while ago I installed Ccam and made a configuration file which also copied to the proper directory on my Vu+ Uno. The other day I wanted to take a look at the configuration file and maybe make a few changes -but I couldn't find it!
I looked all over but I could not find the Ccam.cfg file!
Anybody know where it is -does it turn into a hidden file when once executed, or what?
    Where is it????

After installing the image using filezilla and Putty telnet using this command : cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot, the dm booted right up. I then did a channel search on 0.8W. Everything went well until I wanted to do a reboot after hiding "Games" in the settings menu.
Now it won't reboot. After a while it turns itself off. Also, I tried to connect with filezilla before it got a chance to turn itself off but connection was not found.
I also pulled the power plug for 30 minutes and tried to reboot -but with the same result.
    Now what??
    Any ideas

Is there a plugin available for the Uno (I'm running openpli 3 by the way) that lets you organize plugins / extensions so that you can call them up using the red, green, yellow or blue button on the remote? That would be nice to have.

There are so many plugins available but very little info on what they do. Some of them you can tell by their name, but most of them you can't..

Please do not open another thread with the same problem as you give us extra work and then we dont get to do other things like look for a possible solution to the problem..
do you have vlc installed on the UNO ?????? try that..
I presume you have read my tut and followed it to the letter???
if this fails again then uninstall vlc 2.14 on the uno and the pc and go back to vlc 086B ...
    and start all over again,,,

    Ok
Yes I have the vlc plugin installed on the Uno and I installed the drivers from your post nr. 17. On my pc I have vlc 2.04 installed.
I will try to install ver. 086b and see what happens. Can't see that this will make any difference -going back to this old version. Is this what everybody is using?
Like I said -the error log says:
    Streaming / Transcoding failed
VLC could not open the encoder

I'm having a problem streaming from my pc to my Vu Uno

When streaming divx /avi files I only receive sound, but no picture.
If I try streaming .mkv files I get nothing.

In the error log in vlc on the server (my pc) it says:
    Streaming / Transcoding failed
VLC could not open the encoder

    Anybody????

If it has mounted properly then the share should be visible in media player. In your network settings - Mounts manager - select mountpoints management and select the network share, it shold me mounted as CIFs share, the ip address should be correct, the local share name should be what you want to mount it as, and the server share should be the directory path of the shared folder on your PC. I have no real issues playing files this way - My brother uses this method for watching blu ray rips, and I generally use it for MP4 files downloaded from youtube. Occasionally get audio issues but this seems a bug rather than a codec issue as a reboot cures it.

Just doesn't work -I tried remounting and I even mounted manually. I get the message that all mouts are valid but they are not seen i media player. Might as well forget this...

Do the files play fine with audio when to play them directly on the computer?
Do you have the latest codec(s) pack installed for VLC? I had a similar issue a while back until I updated the pack.

They play great on my pc-the problem is that I am only receiving sound -no picture. I installed the codecs pack recomended by Cazuela in post 17 (see post below from Cazuela) but it did not help. Still only sound. Sound on .avi and nothing on .mkv files

the magic of VLC is that it doesnt need codec packs updated unless it comes with the version...
what you might need are the appropriate drivers in the box image..
    try post #17
    for audio/video problems...

I downloaded and installed the drivers, but no change. I only receive sound from the .avi movies. From .mkv I get nothing

Thanks for the tip. I have to admit I am a newbie when it comes to satellite boxes.

I already have a few shares on my pc, so doing this should be straight forward proceedure, but I don't have the network manager (at least I've never seen it). Is this a plugin?

I have mounted the share from my pc, and the mount is visible from the mount menu on the Uno, but how do I access these movies on my share?

I tried using mediaplayer but only internal flash, hdd and usb stick are accessible.
also tried a full restart of the Uno with same result.
