If the drive is already mounted you should not need to initialize it,there may be a option under mount manger to format the drive, this should give you the option to set partitions. In the image somewhere there should be a option in the menu to "Customize".You may have to set this to expert. Then hopefully you will see a menu for Recording paths, have a look in here, see what it is set too.

Just one thing,at the minute with the HDD mounted if you press the record button on the remote what happens???

I get a message saying "No hdd found or hdd not initialized".

I just installed a WD 750 GB hdd and would like to get it up and running so I can record to it.
Is there a thread here that can help me out, or can someone please help me?
First of all -I have a VU+ UNO with openPLI image ver. 3.0
The disk is installed -in openpli it auto mounts after restart.
Nothing happened after I initialized the disk I don't think it worked.
Can the hdd be initialized with telnet?
If it can, what's the proper command to initialize it with?
There is nothing in the VU manual about any of this.

    Please help..

I have a Western Digital 250GB USB hdd but can't get it to record on my UNO. I'm using openpli 3 image.

I plugged it in to the usb on the back of the Uno, restarted (more than once by the way), then -MENU/SETUP/RECORDING PATHS/ -changed recording path to /media (could not see USB).

I tried timer recording(no result), and direct record by pressing the red button and I got a message saying that no hdd is installed.

    My hdd is fat32.

So what am I doing wrong?

I want to install a hdd on my Uno (preferably 2.5" hdd).
Anybody know approx. how much space i required for recording a 2 hour movie?
Any recommendations for brand and size?

If my friend and I were to setup cs -he being the server and using Cccam, In theory, all I would have to do is install Cccam on my box and enter the proper C line in my Cccam.cfg file to receive his share??

I downloaded and installed the dream explorer plugin to my VU UNO with openpli 3.0 image. Using this I could see the tmp folder in var(var/tmp).
When I opened dcc to ftp a file to this destination -it was not there. The var folder was empty.
I see the var/tmp with the dream explorer, but not with dcc.
    WHY?
    Anybody?

I have a VU UNO with the openpli 3.0 image with cccam 2.3.0 installed.

Where exactly are the cccam config files stored?

Is the file structure the same as on a blackhole image?[/QUOTE]

its in the enigma 2 plugins on this site... use the searchbar ,
if it doesnt show up there then look for the enigma 2 plugins section
if you look at our addons in ts panel you will see BACKUPSUITE 10.1

Found it and installed it. It says that I have to make a file called "backupstick.txt" on the USB stick. I did that and backed up the image. Can I now put this in the USB on the front panel -restart and install like any other image?

I would like to backup my openpli image before I start experimenting with plugins and so on. I installed TSpanel but it only backs up system settings. I want to do a complete backup of the whole image, so if something goes wrong, I can reinstall from my USB key.
    Any suggestions?

if memory serves me right ,, look for a folder named VOLATILE/TMP
to mount ..you need to get to the image panel ( in BH images its blue - blue) then mount it as /media/usb then restart..

none of the buttons take me to mount. The blue takes me to the cams and 2 x blue gives me a smalll picture in the picture. That's the only button that does anything.
