Thanks for the addon but how do you access the Black Hole Blue Panel whilst using the plugin
what version did you install? I've installed some incompatible versions before - you need to install a BlackHole specific one!
best thing to do is install the 2.7.0 copy from the BH addons manager (under download manager --> black hole plugins --> Multi Quick Button VU 2.7.0)
Once you reboot it should be fine!
To setup your USB -
Blue --> Blue --> Devices Manager --> Red --> choose /media/usb as your mount point and hit red to save
To setup your recording
Menu --> Setup --> System --> Recording paths
default movie location - /media/usb
Timer record location - default
Instant record location - default
Timeshift location - /media/usb
Ideally you would benefit from an external HDD for recording to (or record over your network to a NAS/computer)

The download also contains my user_skin.xml file & custom fonts which make full use of the VFD display - This has been optimised for BlackHole so will require amendments to ensure compatibility with VIX et al.

You could also use a standard FTP client, FTP into the box and transfer the TSpanel ipk into your /tmp folder (then follow scoot's install instructions)

Sundtek seem to have the widest support... (you'll need to edit S K Y back into the link!)
At £90 they're pretty steep though! I've read there is a new version coming out this month that will be available in the UK so it might be worth holding on!

Ok, on the odd occasion i have 2 recordings it would be nice to have freeview HD available from my VU+ , read a couple of posts about VU Unop supporting but cant find anything specific. Any one have any experience with this?

Dear though....I'd sooner run a length of coax and get another S2 card so you've got a much wider choice!
not using anything yet just the firmware the ultimo came with very new to enigma or linux so i could do with a good guidance

heres what I recommend -
* install BlackHole 1.7.0 as your image - download from here
* install the latest TSpanel from here
* from within TSpanel, click into the 'linuxsat_support_Addons' section and install 'Oscam6059+CCcam213-Sly_UK-E2-BH' from the 'Cams - BH Oscam+CCcam with Configs' section
This will get your white Sly card working in your upper slot (once you enable Oscam 6059 / CCcam 2.1.3 as your default cam)
When you get to that stage..report back and someone can advise with your CD card!
Its unlikely you'll need the source code and to get the most out of your box you really have to go 3rd party so start reading, theres plenty of info here :)

Tried to record something tonight and it said cant find the hdd, says i need to intialize the hdd can someone point me in the right direction plz.

Then check your recording path -

i dont want to be turning off my own sly package its easy enough getting my hands on a second hand hd box but would that not look as if ur up to something thanks for replying

Have you got a dual lnb coming in? Why not just connect each of your boxes to a single coax and you can watch Sly on your Vu+ and wait for Setanta to be activated on your Sly HD box...
i type into the terminal window ping 192.168.1.1. (the router ip) and the reply is about 260 m/s.
is this a reasonable response time?

just asking how important is the quality of the ethernet cable connecting from router to server.
my router is 30 metres from the server.
when i log onto the server using winscp or putty takes approx 15 secs to log on. (the message "host is not communicating for more than 15secs, still waiting. warning aborting the operation")
and then just logs on before aborting, so taking approx. 15secs.
i have tried a shorter ethernet cable (20m using a more direct route thru the lounge) but the timing is the same.
the server seems to work ok within the house, so, is it important that it takes a long time to log on?
You should be able to run a 100m length without degradation...sounds like something else is the issue...
open a terminal and ping from the server to the router and then do similar from another pc/device to the server...
is the response time similar? (and how many ms is it?)
If it works ok around the house and the logon is the only issue, it may just be the box!
