  • Famous Jailbreak Developer Joshua Hill A.K.A p0sixninja Leaves Chronic Dev Team

    Joshua Hill, better known throughout the jailbreak community as Chronic-Dev Team member p0sixninja, has announced via Twitter that he’s left the group. He hasn’t offered any real reasons for his departure, aside from stating that he’s "no longer associated" with the team, adding, "it was never about the money for me."


    Hill was the most well-known member of the Chronic Dev Team, a jailbreak clique responsible for many important jailbreaks. Greenpois0n 4.2.1 stands out as one of the greatest – and most stable to date – and having waited for several months, it was p0sixninja and his team of developers who finally made the breakthrough.




    It’s an unfortunate move from an outsider’s point of view, and having had the chance to meet him over at last year’s JailbreakCon (when it was known as MyGreatFest), I have to say he is also a nice, genuine guy – one the Chronic Dev will not be the same without. At this point in time though, we don’t know much in terms reasons for him leaving, and what’s also unclear, is whether he will continue tinkering around with the iPhone firmware and proceed to work in the community by himself / with others.


    Although the Cydia community continues to thrive, it’s not without its problems, and there have been many well-documented disagreements between those working to find jailbreaks and unlocks. These situations are to be expected, but it is rather sad to see talented developers moving away from finding these jailbreaks for the masses.


    As Stefan Esser (a.k.a i0n1c) has pointed out before, many jailbreak enthusiasts tend to act in a self-entitled manner when a jailbreak release is imminent, which is not only rude, but certainly unhelpful and unlikely to motivate the various dev teams to speed up their movements.



    I’m sure you’ll echo our sentiments here at Redmond Pie in wishing p0sixninja the best of luck in whatever he decides to do next, and most of us are certainly grateful for the various greenp0ison exploits he has helped provide over the years.

    Hier ist das Changelog für die Version 7.1.3 von Barry Allen.


    * Das ist eine Test Version NUR für OE 2.0 Images im Flash mit Kernel 3.2 (bzw. auf der 800 mit 2.6.18 )


    * diese Version kann man NICHT mehr in OE 1.6 Images installieren, bitte probiert es auch nicht, in den alten Images ist NUR mehr der 6.5.21 Barry Allen kit unterstützt bis er im Herbst ausläuft.


    * Wally West ist bis auf weiteres NICHT unterstützt, wenn es einen 7.1 kit von WW gibt werde ihr es rechtzeitig erfahren.


    * auch Images mit LZO compression im jffs2 sind jetzt unterstützt.


    * wir benutzen jetzt die ksh für das Barry Allen Shellscript


    BA 7.1.1 haben zwar viele benutzt aber außer 1 (in Worten EINEM) Input habe ich nichts zu dem gehört wofür ich es gemacht habe, nämlich um zu testen ob man damit auch Images mit lzo conmpression auspacken, booten und sichern kann.


    Daher kann ich hier NICHT so wie bei dFlash und Dumbo einen releasten Kit machen, sondern bin gezwungen einen 7.1.2 kit zu machen wo zwar die aktuellen Binaries drinnen sind aber kein großzügiges Ablaufdatum, schon weil es auch gilt die ksh zu testen so wie ich das ja bereits angekündigt habe.


    BITTE testet das diesmal wirklich und berichtet ob oder mit welchen Problemen es läuft, erst DANN wird es wieder ein releastes 8.0 von BA geben.


    Wenn nicht dann steht Ihr wieder nach ein paar Wochen blöde da, aber scheinbar geht es nicht anders. BA ist einfach zu komplex um es im Blindflug zu entwickeln, und außerdem würden meine Aufwände zu stark ansteigen das ich nicht mehr willens wäre Euer Nichtstun zu kompensieren.


    Das sind zwar harte Worte aber wenn Ihr das nicht einseht und mithelft muss ich das Projekt auslaufen lassen oder einfrieren was schade wäre - für alle Beteiligten

  • Apple buys fingerprint security company AuthenTec


    Apple has coughed up $356 million (£226 million) for a biometric security company called AuthenTec, Reuters reports.


    AuthenTec specialises in fingerprint- and iris-recognition, so you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to suggest we could see either or both in the next iPhone. But the best part? AuthenTec signed a deal with Samsung less than two weeks ago. Looks like this Apple/Samsung fight isn't going to stop anytime soon.


    Fingerprint- and iris-recognition have featured in phones before, but they've never been that useful. Though the same could be said of voice-recognition before Apple came along with Siri, so who knows what the Cupertino company could do with it? Samsung's Galaxy S3 can recognise when you're looking at the screen, and keep it lit until you avert your gaze, so maybe Apple is planning something similar with its next iPhone.


    Or, with fingerprint-recognition, maybe it has security more in mind.


    AuthenTec also makes technology that connects devices securely using virtual private networks (VPNs). So Apple could be trying to make inroads into the business market previously the preserve of Windows Phone and BlackBerry. We could also see an increase in workers using their own devices in the office (in a kind of 'bring your gadget to work' day, I'd like to imagine), as your iPhone and iPad should be able to connect to the corporate network with minimal hassle.


    In Japan, AuthenTec's tech is also used for authenticating mobile payments. So Apple could utilise it for Passbook (which is thought to be laying the groundwork to get the iPhone working as a digital wallet). Dedicated fingerprint recognition would also be a real weapon against Google and its Wallet software of mobile payments.

    My advice is dont pay anyone for a N line or any line as payservers are not welcome here, my advice is read up on here and buy a cheap card to share, payservers make money out of other peoples cards and are pretty much pond life or just scum bags!!! you probably wont get your channels back on m8!!!
