Hi, does anyone know if there is an Enigma2 plugin that can correct the aspect ratio of a 16:10 monitor which shows a 16: 9 picture stretched.

Unfortunately, the monitor doesn't have any inbuilt aspect ratio tools and 720p/1080p image output on my sat box shows as elongated on my monitor.

Kiddac, Is there any chance of making a version of this plugin that is compatible with OpenPli 8.3 please?

On OpenPli, the error message 'Some plugins are not available - Extensions/SlykEpg7day (No module named boxbranding) using the ipk in this thread.

I was initially caught out with this exact same problem with my Vu+Duo2 when setting up my NFS/CIFS network shares.
It does seem odd that the text option is not enabled by default in the Vix image as to me as an average end user there does not seem to be any reason why you would not want it enabled.

The Blackpole image is based on OpenPLi3 and as such the Blackpole image will be available once there is an OpenPLi image available for the Solo2.

The OpenPLi developers are seemingly waiting for VU/Marusys to issue fixes into their drivers which will allow for their image to be built without issues.
On the Blackhole forum they anticipate that a Blackpole and OpenPLi3 image should be available in the near future.

There is currently a Vix beta image. a Blackhole and a VTI image availbale for the Solo2.
You will not have any problems with softcams with any of the currently released images.

For CrossEPG to work correctly on a Dreambox OE2.0 image, you need to have a brand new image that supports the latest enigma2 tarball which is 20120912.
At present the only offical OE2.0 images that will work correctly with the CrossEPG verison crossepg_0.6.2_OE2-r1_all.ipk can be found at dreamboxupdate.com and are dated 20121208.

On these new official OE2.0 images dated 20121208 you will find an option for EPG length which you can adjust under Menu/Settings/System/Customize/Epg cache time span which you can select from 7-28 days.

The version of CrossEPG that is required to be used on the official OE2.0 based image is enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.6.2_OE2-r1_all.ipk

The mhw2_dplus file for the Spanish channels on 19.2E overwrites the file in "/usr/crossepg/scripts/mhw2epgdownloader"
This enables the Spanish epg to be download correctly under MHW2 providers

This works perfectly with but you are currently limited to the official OE2.0 images that can be found at dreamboxupdate.com.

OpenPLi3.0 based images do not require this specific version of crossepg as they have been working fine for some time as they do not use the DMM closed source code which was the issue that has just been resolved with the EPG on OE2.0.

    CrossEPG 0E2.0

Anyone who has used the new official OE2.0 based images on a Dreambox will know that up until now CrossEPG did not run properly which meant no full 28.2 or 13E OpenTV EPG was available for download.

Now thanks to the hardwork of ghost and the dreambox developers there is now a customised version that will run on all official OE2 based images which restores this EPG functionality. This has been one the most wished for plugins for OE2.0.

PLEASE NOTE THIS VERSION OF CROSSEPG IS NOT SUITABLE FOR OPENPLi3 OR OPENPLi BASED IMAGES.
OPENPLi3 HAS CROSSEPG AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY FROM THE IMAGE

In e2 the next version, or in the next tarball then there will be a few optimizations for the epg cache, so that the whole as much as possible (and of course without reboot to load the data and without crashes) works.
The only thing to note is that one has to fight with less ram, so all but the 7020HD, should not overdo it with the data.
I found this example on the size of the 8000 epg.dat should not go over 20-25mb, otherwise it could lead to problems, because everything must be stored in ram.
Under normal circumstances, the epg.dat but eh not so great.
I have with me, with ***UK / IT / Digital + and other data collected from the transponder (Pro7/ZDF etc.) so the 15mb and the works on the 8000 without problems.

    sundtekcontrolcenter v1.3.2_r1

    - bugfix: the plugin should now work with older driver versions back
    - update: updated to current Sundtek timestamps.
    - update: auto update function of the driver is now with the plugin activated.
to activate the auto update function: first set "Configuration Support" to "yes".
second set "Driver auto update" to "yes"
third press GREEN to confirm and then the configuration settings are written to sundtek.conf
in the next driver and start considered. ----------------------------- ----------------------

If you want to stay on an image based on the official Dreambox software and drivers then Merlin3 is consided to be amongst the best with some additional EPG funcitionality preinsatalled on the image
    http://linuxsat-support.com/dm…in-3-oe-2-0-dm7020hd.html

Merlin3 has a nice skin and feel but you would need to also download and install this file http://linuxsat-support.com/em…erlin-oe2-0-cam-feed.html
One the cam feed is installed you could then easily install the neccessary softcam that you require.

I personally use OpenPLi3 on my DM7020HD which I have found to be a very stable and solid image and has the considerable advantage that EPGImport and CrossEPG work flawlessly on this image. All your softcams for OpenPLi3 can be downloaded straight from the image with ease. The only drawback with OpenPLi3 is that some of the newest features that Dream have introduced on official images such as WMV playback do not work on OpenPLi3.

There are a few manual workarounds that you could use to obtain English audio for the EPL matches on foreign satellite.

If you have an Enigma2 twin tuner receiver the AudioPIP plugin might be a good option.
AudioPIP could be used to let you view the video from one channel and use the audio from a radio source on 28.2E e.g. Radio5/Talksport/Absolute. This could be a viable option for Cyfra etc but you could get sync issues with the video being behind the audio.

Another option if you have an IPhone/Android phone or IPAD is the tunein Radio app. This app lets you listen to the audio from stations like Radio5 etc. This could be used with an audio cable to hook into your TV or HIFI speakers via an anlogue audio input. The TuneIn radio could be used to sync the video from your channel to an English audio source. The problem with these approaches is that on the 3pm commentaries you get lots of score updates from other games etc which some people may find annoying,

Absolute Radio had full commentary for the Arsenal V Sunderland match which I personally used with my Pure DAB with its pause function to manually sync an English audio source to the video.
Radio5 18/8 had commentary of the West Brom v Liverpool match.

If you have more than one Enigma2 receiver then RemoteStreamConverter and Partnerbox are great plugins.

For football fans then i would totally recommend Live Football by mfaraj57. It gives you access to all the live scores as games progress, has links to satellite schedules for live matches and league tables and stats galore.

Another brilliant sports plugin is "Sport Portal" which provides stats for EPL, Bundesliga, Serie A, F1, MotoGP, ATP Tennis. It is a great way to check up quickly on scores, results and stats.

WebRadioFS is a good plugin for internet radio. The database that it uses is updated frequently by the author and his user base and is generally very good with a focus on quality over quantity.

EPGImport plugin was not working for me with this image.

The data gathering exercise just resulted in a green screen crash loop once the data had been accumulated.

This was an issue with the OE2.0 based images which had resulted in CrossEPG and XMLTVImport plugins not being useful.
For me the EPG issue was not resolved in this image making the inclusion of the EPGImport plugin rather redundant.

    VU+ are aiming for a launch around Q3 2012.
Some people reckon that It will probably be available in somewhat limited quantities just before Christmas as previous VU+ hardware launches have slipped somewhat from the original release date timescales.

It does look like a fantastic receiver. However, good hardware is only useful if the software matches it.
Hopefully, all the main image teams that support the VU+Duo (OpenPLI/Blackhole/Vix/VTI) will be able to provide solid images that unleash the full potential of the hardware.

The faster processor should make the internet browser and HBBtv more usable features than the current generation hardware.
The VU+Duo2 wil also have the potential to be a quad satellite tuner as well just like the Dreambox 8000 when the twin DVB-S2 tuners are launched by VU.

Crossepg is not functioning at the moment on OE2.0 due to changes that have been made to the way the EPG data is handled.

If the 7 day OpenTV EPG is important for you for 13E & 28.2E then at present you have to go back to an OE1.6 based image.

On a PVR I consider a 7 day EPG to be more important than Hbbtv and web browsers so don't consider the experimental OE2.0 images to a great update at present.
Having just a now and next EPG on the Italia and UK packages is a big step backwards.

Hopefully, the necessary patches will come soon to enable the data that CrossEPG generates to be used on the experimental OE2.0 images.

I should also add that I have heard bad things about the Technomate Linux receivers. The TM-800 has a terrible reputation on various forums for images and plugins not working as you expect them to. For this reason, I would be wary about buying a Technomate linux receiver as I would be worried that the software would not be rock solid.

Technomate closed source receivers are excellent. The TM5402-HD is a cracking value receiver, ideal for a second box in a another room.
