yes also tried eligato skin and that doesn't work either, so is this a bug in the image or is it a fault with the receiver. Going to try a few more skins and see what happens. Bye the way, there are a few skins that come with the image. Would it help to remove the ones not in use and if so how do I do it

Got it sorted. Changed skin fro Alien HD to Simple HD and that seems to have cured it

tuner setup Tuner A Nothing Tuner B Usals Tuner C Single 28.2 E Tuner A is showing as DVB T. On the info bar it only shows Tuners A and B

got this to record now, having reformatted hard drive, but can not get it to record 2 channels. On FTA channels I can record one and watch another, but not on anything encrypted. Anyone got any ideas on this. Like this image and want to keep it on if possible

Hi Nano,
not getting any message on screen. When I press the instant record button there is something flashing on the box display. It flashes 2 or 3 times then stops. Almost as if it is trying to record but can't for some reason. If I then go to the 'Timer ' list it shows the programme I have tried to record with a message '' Waiting''

am running PKT Hyperion image on my Alien 2, but cannot get it to record either using the timer or the instant record button. My Hard drive is being seen ok, and as far as I can see all settings are ok. Are there any known issues with this image and recording. I rather like the image and would like to keep it on if possible.

just thinking about the new model with faster processor. Is this the way receivers are going to move, and is it likely that there are plans to utilise the extra processing power other than just for faster boot up times.
regarding the Alien, I will keep that as a second box and sell my spiderbox 9000 if I do take the plunge, because it may get there in the end

at the moment I have Alien2 and to be quite honest I am getting a bit fed up with it. One day something works,ie cross epg, next day you have to fiddle to get it working. Getting it to record from timer seems to be overly complicated., etc etc, not to mention the box crashing when some buttons are pressed . I know it is still a new box but am seriously thinking of switching to a proper Enigma box. Will I notice a big difference in the stabilty and performance . Also there seems to be a lot more support. Just looking in sponsors shop there seem to be some very good deals. I did want the VU Solo+2 but don't think I want to spend that much, however I see a good deal on VU+Duo twin tuner @ £249, a serious reduction. First question, why such a big reduction. Is it older technology that I may regret buying, or is it just a cracking deal. Also wondered about the new Venton boxes. They look good and the gigablue. Would appreciate any comments on the above. Think I am going to take the plunge but want to plunge in right direction and not make another mistake.

yes I agree with what you say. It's not a disaster and maybe one day will get there. Think I will have to persevere till funds are available, and summer is supposed to be here so won't be watching so much TV. But eventually will get new box. I'll keep an eye on this forum for any developments. I will give that image a try. Just tried the latest HDMU but couldn't get oscam to work and a few other problems with plugins. Not a bad image though

wondered if anyone had any direct comparisons between above boxes. I fancied the VU but in the end went for Alien based on price and comments that it did everything the VU did and also had dual boot. However I have to say that the Enigma side seems very unstable to me (although I have nothing to compare to ). Oscam seems to keep freezing up on Enigma but it is much better on Spark side. However I wanted the flexibilty of Enigma as I already have a Spiderbox which as you know is closed source but has been a good reliable receiver and still works. I am beginning to think maybe I made a mistake and am considering selling Alien. I have seen on some threads that Enigma is not particularly suited to Alien because of the type of chipit has. Does this still hold true. Having said all this it has to be said that the picture on the Alien is fantastic. All comments much appreciated

Am using James HDMU backup and have gone into usr/keys Right click on server file and enter line details as highlighted by James. have checked on Dream Explorer plugin and that is showing entered details but still no joy. Do I need to do anything else.ie copy those files into another location? Is it important to get all spacings the same. I have given each a name ie 'remote 1'. hvae double checkesd all details. Don't know what to try next. Am sure it is something quite simple. I have activated the oscam file in software management. there are 2 oscam files in there. Oscam6666 and one that is just Oscam which is the one I am using. Help much appreciated
