Just an update

managed to flash HDMU image without any problem. It just seems to be the PKT backups that won't flash, although I have used them before????

this is doing my head in now. Can't get it to flash at all. Starts to upload gets to e299 then goes to flashing u/load and sticks there. Had same result with different images, which are PKT. I am using a Kingston 4gb stick which I have reformatted to fat32 using Easus partition tool. Is it possible something has got corrupted on Enigma side and if so what is the next step. Going to try a different image maybe HDMU and see if that works It works ok in spark.Any help much appreciated

if its only got 28e on it may be easiest to download settings lists ie Catseye and install via DB edit or something similar.

well I have tried that, but still no good.Goes all through bootup shows Hyperion image on screen counts loadup then says start then starting, which was hwre it stuck before, but now it goes to discovery and sticks there. Never had this problem before. Any ideas

never quite figured how to do it through spark. Do I need a hard drive connected. I don't have one because it is only for occassional viewing. I'll have a read up on spark site to see if I can figure it out.

Am using as main box Solo 2, so decided to use my Alien2 as second box and have been running Spark. Got fed up with that and put on PKT backup image. All was fine so installed Catseye 28E channel list, which seemed to install ok but although I had strong signal there was no picture. So tried flashing a different image. This seemed to load ok but then stuck on ''Starting''. Tried another image and same result. Any ideas.

have reflashed the vix image and updated to latest vix 746 I think. Took a long time to boot up after upgrade, but I noticed that it still showed Black Hole on bootup screen. Is this normal? Rec is working fine in all other areas. What would a factory reset do?

currently running Ten Below backup of vix 3.0. Have changed the skin to Army mood blue. Nice. Like the skin and the image. Checked for update and updated to 745. All went well until reboot when it has just got stuck on the 'openvix' screen. I have tried switchoff at back and when it came back on it showed a 'Black Hole' screen first and then went to the openvix and got stuck. I tried the BH 2.06 before this image but took it off because of boot problems. Is it possible a bit of the BH image has not been cleared. What should I do next

Am currently running Ten Below open vix backup and really like it. I would like to change the colours in the channel lists. At present it is white lettering with a pale blue highlight. Sometimes it can be a little unclear and I am getting grief from the boss. Have tried playing about with the colours in the Metrix menu but not getting anywhere. Thanks for any help

thanks for your advice guys. I got a bit fed up and went back to openvix backup which seems to be ok, but I may give it another try. It's all a part of the learning curve

yes. I have had trouble getting hard drive to be seen so added HDD manager and I think that may have caused some problems. Also because the HD wasn't being seen I wonder if I may have overloaded the internal flash with epg/auto bouquets. I have now reflashed and am trying again, but still having trouble with hard drive. If I go into info it shows up but not showing any of the films etc I have recorded. Do I have to initialise it. I don't think I did in the Vix backup I used. Don't want to lose the recordings. Where do I put my Oscam server file. I have gone into Var/tuxbox/config/ymod/server. Is that right?. Thanks for help

as the title suggests. Thought I would try this image and all looked fine at first but have had many problems with crashes and problems with booting up. Now I cannot get it to get past the bootup screen. Had this yesterday and reflashed but now its gone again. Have re downloaded the file and will flash again and see if that works. I am using the backup by Ten Below.

I am using Open Vix 3.0 backup by Ten Below and really like this image. However every few days lots of channels don't have a title and just say n/a. If I try to open them some say DVB Service and then 'Tune failed' some say DVB Service but then the channel name comes up. Any ideas what may be happening

apologies for misinformation, I need not have struggled if I had realised I could find this info on here. It is sometimes a little confusing as to what can be said, but at least I have learned a little more today

you won't get any help on here m8 regarding lines etc, but I suggest you have a good look around on Google. I was struggling and found a pictorial guide that solved the problem. It really is quite simple. You will need a programme such as Dreambox Control Centre to FTP. You should find a download and info on this site regarding this

I have just got this receiver and have also got a spider 9000 so understand what you are saying. These boxes come without any cams installed but there is info on here on how to do it. I found it a little difficult and in the end installed a backup image from here that already had them installed and from there it is fairly simple. Just don't go too far with your questions on this as such discussions are not allowed. However I wouldc say that if you do go for a Solo2 you will not be disappointed
