The issue is building up my movie collection on the HDD. Yes I use Fillzilla, but a high definition full length movie's transfer is measured in hours - hence asking whether I can transfer PC to USB then USB to HDD on the Solo2. Surely Linux must have some function to do this? It's just that being new to a Linux box I don't know how.

Having just found out how long it takes to FTP a large movie file to my Solo2 HDD, I am interested in whether there is the equivalent of a "file manager" in the Solo2 that would allow a file to be copied from a USB stick to the HDD?

    SORTED!!

Stupid me. The problem was I was going externally from the same network that the Solo2 resides in - and this was confusing the router. Once I came in from a different network it all worked as expected! So thanks for your patience on this.

Have rebooted router, pinged to confirm address has been updated in no-ip, but still I am directed to the router. I have a TP-Link router and cannot see how I can perform a port redirect. I have changed the http port on openwebif to 8005 and forwarded that port to the Solo2 in the router - but that just gives me "Cannot connect . . ". For some reason, port 80 is grabbed by the router. However, I thought the app would still need to use port 80 and it has no trouble. Any other ideas, or is this now a router issue?

    Thanks for helping.

ping definitely is returning the correct ip address. However, the appearance has now changed!! Using either method of addressing (the original and your recommendation) now rather than getting "not found" (which was an ISP message) I get asked for authentication (progress!!) but not for Solo2 but for the router??!!?? Don't understand. Any help?

    Openwebif is configured:
    Yes
    80
    no
    8001
    yes
    433
    no

Ports 80, 8001 and 8002 are forwarded correctly.

What I don't understand is how the app gets in, but the browser asking for the url of the no-ip address gets "not found". If there were a problem I would expect "access denied" or some such thing.

I have set up the android app to be used remotely via a no-ip account. Whilst it takes a long time to start and can be juttery, this is probably due to my LAN upload speed (~500kbps) being a bit marginal. However, I want to also access the web interface via an ipad (which doesn't have the app) and assumed that this would just work - like it does locally. I have set the browser url to myname.np-ip.biz:80 but that returns "Sorry we could not find . . ." message. How come tha app can use the dyndns route but the browser cannot?

Is there any way of viewing this channel via streaming? There are a number of links to it through TSMedia, but all of them fail to start. Just wondering if there is a plugin that someone knows works. Thanks.

Obviously, I will respond "no" now knowing this, but if there is a "yes" option it should work. The reason for reporting here is that I have reported pulling my hair out on this issue, so having worked out the problem I just might save someone else the total frustration it causes.

I'll report in this thread - though the issue probably belongs somewhere else!

There is a bug in BH2.0.4 which was causing my DNS not to be saved. I use a fixed ip. Upon installing 2.0.4 the initial setup gives the option of restoring settings - if I say "no" then everything works fine DNS is saved etc. However if I respond "yes" my network adapter setting, minus the DNS, are restored, but DNS is lost everytime I reboot. I have no way of fixing this so my 2.0.4 build is on hold (back to 2.0.3) until either a fix/workaround is found, or I have the time to start again.

I will need to reinstall it again to give you exact option wording (give me a couple of hours to get the kids to school). But unless the DNS issue can be resolved I have no option but to go back to 2.0.3. There is NO save option, and a reboot erases my DNS - this is crazy!! Even if I can find the system file where the DNS config is stored and do a manual edit and save I would live with that, but entering it every day is madness.

A job for the morning. However, Cool TV Guide 6.4 cannot be configured as earlier version since pressing "EPG" will only give you one type of guide - it cannot be configured any different (you can use other buttons to bring up other guides or not - they are the options). Regarding DNS settings - there is no Save! You can change them "Press OK to use" - instantly the network works. Go to standby and return - network still works. Reboot - no network - DNS now 0.0.0.0. Driving me crazy!

You're my hero! Actually it was in \usr\lib\enigma2\python\plugins\extensions, but that got it deleted. Unfortunately enigma2-plugin-extensions-cooltvguide_Coolman_V6.3.0_mips32el.ipk won't install on BH 2.0.4 so I may have to stick with 6.4 anyway!! However, I am now close to going back to 2.0.3 since every time I boot the Solo2 my DNS settings get lost (never happened in 2.0.3).

Yes I know - that take me to the Addons Uninstall menu, but that only lists that addons that I had installed manually (ftp into /temp) the Cool TV Guide was downloaded and installed from TSPanel/Tunisiasat Vuplus/plugins - and hence I am struggling.

I am so used to older Cool TV Guide versions that I cannot (yet) live with 6.4. My problem is that before I can install an older version I must first uninstall Cool TV Guide 6.4, but cannot find out how. Any help would be most appreciated.

Well, I thought I was almost done . . . . a further problem is that every time the stb boots it "forgets" the DNS settings! It has never done this before. On standby it remembers them fine, but a reboot gives me DNS of 0.0.0.0 again! Any ideas?

Thanks mckee25, 1. totally sorted, unfortunately when I installed the multi quickbutton plugin I lost my normal green button, so I baled out of that. Will live with it just now hoping I will come across how to configure what I have got. It's just that Ten Belows 2.0.3 backup did exactly that (and now we are all used to EGP working that way). Thanks again.
