According to the manual it does work with cable , you have to enable this by changing the LNB2 value to dvb-c in installation - antenna connection (it may be setup to dvb-t as default).
When doing this though, you won't have access to terrestrial channels as the tuner cannot operate both systems together.
As regarding mgcamd, you'll have to load a patched firmware to avail of this feature.
Patched firmware can be got here (make sure you only select the relevant firmware for your model to avoid problems):

Manual is here (page 23 is what you require)Quote -
Can you connect to the receiver using dcc or filezilla to backup your details?
You'll probably have to reflash it to get it going again but this will wipe all your details.- - - Updated - - -
What image were you running as some are patched to work with the zgemma's and by online updating the image, it can corrupt it.

You can split a unicable feed but your receiver has to support unicable.

I don't think the ip range within your dd-wrt router should be an issue as this is just the ip pool that your router assigns to your home network (should be easily changed within your dd-wrt router though to something other than the default 192.168.x.x range).
When your superhub is in modem mode, I'd imagine it should only pass on your wan ip to your dd-wrt router (normally needs to be hard wired between lan 1 on superhub and wan (or lan1 if no wan present) on dd-wrt router, the superhub would probably need to be rebooted after switching it to modem mode to acquire / forward the wan ip as well though)
You may need to enter settings into your connected dd-wrt enabled router though (passwords-connection type etc) which can be got from virgin or from the superhub before you flip it to modem mode, although not entirely sure.
All guess work though as I have no access to a superhub.
I'd concentrate on getting your existing dd-wrt router working before I'd purchase anything though, just to make sure it's do-able. -
Have you tried to enable parental control on your receiver?
Another option, switch to oscam and create a services file (containing all the porn) , you should then be able to block them / stop them from clearing.
http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=4661
Probably easier to list all your options if you tell us what type of receiver/image your running (linux/enigma2 etc) -
Setanta sports has been re-branded "eir sport"
Have you this showing in your bouquets? -
It should remain the same (normally it backs up your settings/ image before updating)
If your unsure /uneasy about it, create a full image backup first and transfer it to your pc, that way if things go wrong / amiss with the update, you can just flash your backup back onto your receiver. -
Don't know anything about VM-superhub but I'd recommend something you can flash with DD-WRT firmware.
It should tick all the boxes you require.
Something else to consider would be a fritzbox , they are expensive and look a bit like a childs toy but a great router and have a brilliant os (make sure you choose an international version as getting an international os on a german version can be problematic.) -
Your problem may be with your usb to rs232 adaptor, they sometimes give mixed results.
If you can get a pc/laptop with native rs232, it should work.Quotei read on another post to switch the box off and on again to start the flash process
This is correct but it also may be down to your usb to rs232 adaptor -
I have a whopping 0.33 mbps upload.
1.8-2.2 may be ok for sd channels.
Only way to find out is to give it a go, you can always close the port if it is unsatisfactory. -
Thread was from 2 days ago,if it's working on your pc, looks like they're back up now.
Maybe it was just a coincidence that they wend dark at the same time as kat.
I don't have any other info on it, sorry. -

when you say set authentication on the transcode plugin what does it actually mean, do you set another password ?
The stream will require a password to view it (been a while since I've used it to be honest as my upload speed is crap but I think you may use the root password, I'll verify this tomorrow for you)Quoteanother question will i be able to log in from my no-ip addy ?
You should be able to (your streaming port has to be opened and directed to your receivers ip within your local area network for it to work). -

This thread will explain it a bit more:

An old piece of kit now which is not supported anymore with patched firmware (as far a I know).
You maybe at a loss with it / your current supplier (if it cannot accept a 4 digit port number)QuoteIs it possible to FTP the newcamd.list to the ariva?
No, but you can enter into the "module" (line settings) by typing the receivers ip into a browser (firefox works quite well) and editing them from there.
Please though, read the rules (pay particular attention to rule 2)

Try updating your oscam.srvid file.
Latest one can be downloaded from here: (tick before the packages you require then hit "oscam.srvid" in the downloads section)
http://kos.hdsat.pl/menu-20.html
Overwrite the original one and restart oscam. -
Doesn't look good for your ariva to be honest.
I'd have tried exactly what you've done.
Maybe time to open the wallet.
Or get the multimeter out
