Here is the version for usb/hdd For best installation I first installed the NAND version in NAND, then formatted the hdd from blue panel install manager/disk manager (Partition1 -1gb ext3, Partition 2 128mb swap, partition 3, left free space, ext3).

Go to mount manager and mount /dev/sda3 to /hdd

Then send the hdd version from this post to /hdd using winscp or similar

Then go to blue panel - install manager, and select install image on sda1, and select the image you sent to /hdd

Wait until install completes, then once finised, turn off and on, and on turning on, repeadedly press up arrow on the front of your receiver until you get to HDD1, then press OK

This should run Hyperion from the HDD partition you just installed it on, and you will have more space for plugins as you just installed it on a 1GB partition. It is best to install it on HDD1 after a clean install on NAND with the same image, or it might have a couple of plugin incompatibility issues like I found when I had Nebula Zero on NAND and Hyperion on HDD1

Hi - I have been using this receiver for a few days now, for the price it is very good - it is SH4 chipset, so don't expect the support to be amazing as it would with mips chipset, but the PKteam are doing a good job with this. The Nebula Zero image is very good, or if you want more plugin support, then the Hyperion image based on OpenPLi offers this. The best way to go is to install the images on an HDD partition after initally installing on NAND to get the option to install on the HDD. I found the Nebula Zero is the most stable in NAND flash, but the hyperion is my preferred image and is most stable from the HDD. Some people have had issues with HD juddering, some have found it to be a problem with the hardware and replaced some capacitors, I had an issue and found it to be a memory issue and only happened when I was writing a lot of stuff the the HDD.

These receivers are modded so they can use E2 images, so they will always technically be second hand, and generally you will get a 3 month warranty not a 1 year one, but where else will you get a receiver like this for that price?

Not much to lose in my opinion.

I take it you mean MHEG-5 - is something you will have do to without on these sort of receivers. You would need to look more at HPTC setup if this is needed. From experience I know that Windows Media Center supports this.

As for the rest of it you are probably best looking at the GiGaBlue Quad or Venton HD3 with DVB-T tuners. Also bear in mind that some Enigma2 receivers will support external DVB-T tuners.

I am sure I will get around to trying it eventually, I would imagine partitioning the HDD sda1 1GB - sda2 rest of drive - install to sda1, reboot - change bootloader and select HD1

That is how I picture doing it in my head -but I have the same as you been messing with this receiver all day so I'll try it another day!

By the way can you please not repeat the same questioin on 3 different threads?

    Thanks:hmmmm:

To correct what I said eariler, It might be a blue button press for the ViX epg to sent an event to the Autotimer rather than a long green press. I was getting it mixed up with Cool TV Guide. I am not sure how you would go about doing what you want to do - maybe you can edit the keymap.xml file in /usr/local/share/enigma2 - never tried this before, there are also a couple of plugins - multiquickbutton for example - that can assign button presses, but it will depend on if it will allow you to assign it to autotimer.

I couldn't manage at first to get SAMBA working on the Nebula Zero and Hyperion images (not tried on others)
I tried to configure using the PKT Blue Panel - Mount Center - SMB Server - nothing seeming to work.

Here is what I did - I installed SAMBA package (enclosed on this thread to download).

place the file in /tmp and install the IPK through BluePanel or Software Management (in the setup menu) - then reboot
Then edit /etc/samba/smb.conf - this is what I have in my config file

and to enable it to start on boot, add this to /var/config/rc.user

    Code
    /etc/init.d/samba start

this setup got it working and gives me access to two points - Root and Harddisk - and it starts on boot.

Not sure if others had the same issues using SAMBA on the BluePanel, but I did, and this is how I got round it.

If you are on the EPG and are highlighting an event you want to send to the autotimer, then a long green button press should send the event to autotimer - and pressing OK will send the new event to the timer.

This version doesn't work on Nebula Zero - infact it will replace some of your files and stop you being able to boot. I tried this afternoon - I hope you have done a backup!

I did notice on this receiver I was getting some very odd stuttering on HD channels while I was pasting over some ts files to the hard drive from another receiver. I checked on telent with the "free" command (you can also get the same info on the Nebula image under Menu - information - Info center), and noticed that during the file transfer, the available RAM was very low during the transfer, so I put it down to this, especially as I have not had any issues under normal conditions.

    No worries!!!

Anwyay - I love the Autotimer just as you do. I have used it on every image and every receiver, and if I can't get it working then I can't live with the image or box

The way I use this, is to enter the graphical EPG - when I am on an event that I want to record, then it tells me to press green for timer. If you do a long green press, then it sends the event to Autotimer rather than the bog standard one. This works for me.

can you look at the rules
    RULES
    look at rule 13.

This is a European based support forum, so there won't be many here familiar with what you are asking, but after doing my own research on IKS private servers across the pond, it seems to me that most of you pay a subscripton or "donation" to connect to a server. I can't see any difference to this and a Payserver this side of the pond, because someone makes a profit out of a load of people who want cheap TV. This is a hobbyist forum, so that is not what we are about.

So if this is how you have received the details you are trying to put in your CCcam.cfg - you won't get support here.

    INTRODUCTIONS
First post should be above - as per rules

Second to this, why don't you just update to the latest image?

When you say older Duo - what do you mean? If you have original equipment, then the age of the Duo has nothing to do with it. You can still use the latest ViX.

You have got an original haven't you???

    doesn't work
I just get bad magic number
followed instructions and rebooted gui but didn't work

any ideas as this is a great plugin

I get the same error. I am using the Nebula Zero Image. This error message would suggest it is not compatible, and I think it is to do with the version of Python that is used in the image not being compatible with the plugin.

IKS isn't really a UK thing so you won't really find many people here who have a clue what it is. From what I understand - You are paying someone for a connection to a server to unlock channels, so correct me if I am wrong - this is a payserver?

If this is the case - please read the rules again. If am wrong, please feel free to correct me.

    My entitlements gone down today

Wondering what channel to update on - If indeed its worthwhile

    Thanks

Considering the channels that used to update the card are no longer working, then don't hold your breath about anything updating this card. The provider has gone under, so would be no surprise if we have Ice scrapers in a few days. Saying that, the card still clears the channels at the moment without any active entitlements, and also bear in mind that the month hasn't ended yet.
