If you change channel it will end the timeshift. It shouldn't stop working after a period of time as it is permanent, but it is dependent on drive space. A glitchy stream can also mess it up. You can increase or decrease the amount of time it will save.

'me' only has one 'e' - adding more will not get you help any quicker:laugh: - maybe you should try posting an introduction post instead - this is courteous and follows the rules, and once you have done this then people will be more willing to offer help if they know the answer. also, please open new threads for new problems, rather than add to existing unrelated threads...

Firstly - what image and version are you using? In other words what is the name of the Enigma2 flavour that is running on your receiver, such as Hyperion, OpenPLI, Nebula etc etc. To check, press 'OPT' on your remote, select 'Information' - 'about'
If we don't know that then we get no further.

Can you give us a bit more info about your setup? For example, your image, if you have a local card, and what you have already done so far?

sorry to bump an old threat but i'm having the same issues. Not sure what Vix image i'm on currently but does anyone know if it's fixed in the latest 750 build?
probably was best to post a new thread with more detail about your issue, as it could be unrelated. If a thread dies it is often because the issue is not there anymore - and most importantly, your first post needs to be here

what problems you had muso
Look earlier on in this thread I already mentioned it:thumbsup: -

try /var/temp or /var/volatile/tmp - should be a symlink to /tmp but doesn't always work. Amend the telnet command to reflect the path.

depending on what version of python it is using (not too sure - if I can find that out I will add to this thread), one of the two versions above should work (6.4.0), only you need to unpack the ipk and install it manually in your plugins folder. Have a look here http://linuxsat-support.com/nb…0s-5800sx.html#post142250
I have uploaded the 1.6OE version already unzipped with instructions on how to install it on the above thread, you could try this version first. If not then download the 2.0OE version from the first thread, and you can unzip the ipk and resulting tar file with a decent unzip utility (i use 7-Zip, works a treat with IPK files) and again install it as per instructions.

we do require an intro post here

you always have the option of editing existing picons by changing the filename to match the service reference of the channel you want it to correspond to (take a look at the existing files to get an idea of the format that is required). If there are a lot of provider changes, then this can be tedious work, so you need to bear with those who create and update picon packs, because they probably have jobs and families and do it in their spare time. It takes about one minute to read the rules and post an intro

If you are using the Matrix HD skin, the second info bar will not work as far as I can remember. Matrix HD is highly customisable, so go in to the Matrix settings and choose a different layout that will give you more on your infobar.

Sounds like you have installed the wrong version. I think for openATV (if that is what you are using) you need to install the one that is for OE 2.0

bobbyjobby did you go into the tenet section through DCC and just type init 4 in the black box? What does this then do. I can see your steps but what does typing init 4 and init 6 do?
Init commands used in telnet. I always use the native windows telnet bot the one through DCC should be okCode

I am not sure that the inclusion of 'down' changes your statement:beat_brick:
I invite you to elaborate on your theory... -
Also a lot to the modern TVs are programened to start breaking after a certain number of years so when they do start get rid. This came from within sony themselves.hope it helps
Rubbish
I think you are getting mixed up with not designed to last and programmed to go wrong - which are two different things. I am sure if things were programmed to go wrong then it would become evident before long and we would all know about it, and there would be ****e hitting the fan. -

Folks, the HD judder problem is getting on my nerves, i have been reading over on another form that replacing the capacitors in the box will fix the issue.
here is a list of the capacitors:
Change on mainboard capacitors:
C270 - 470uF/16V
C271 - 470uF/16V
C272 - 470uF/16V
C273 - 470uF/16V
C541 - 1500uF/16V
C122 - 1000uF/16V
C518 - 1000uF/16Vand on tuner (small board)
C96 - 470uF/16V
C112 - 470uF/16V
C113 - 470uF/16V
C97 - 1000uF/16V
C95 - 1000uF/16Vthis was advised by user: Euro-Trans, he is the guy i purchased my box off of so i would expect that he knows what he is talking about.
my question is , has any done this and fixed the issue?
Lot of hassle if it doesnt!!I got my receiver off the same bloke, and as far as I know he replaces these as part of the modification. As we all know now the juddering in most cases was probably a software issue of which there is now a fix. I feel sorry for all those who spent the time and money replacing these when they just needed to wait for a driver fix!

I have new lg 3d smart tv and its the dogs b*ll*cks mate
That's what I thought when I got mine - may I recommend you consider an extended guarantee!! -
In the news today that panasonic are discontinuing manufacturing plasma TVs - as I said, old technology. It is good to think about what you want, then make a purchase - or you will be like me and get through so many TVs! Richer Sounds have free 5 year guarantee deals on some TVs - note there is a difference between guarantee and warranty.
Codehttp://www.access-legal.co.uk/free-legal-guides/whats-the-difference-between-a-guarantee-and-a-warranty-1314.htmMy TV would have come with this had I bought this from them, but I couldn't be bothered with the longer drive! - amazing the stakes we gamble on sometimes!
If you want a smart TV, then you are interested in what you can get out of a smart TV - and it is this part that is the most varied between manufacturers, so should be a big consideration.

Re oscam configuration, Have you checked on Webif to see what is going on? Is it showing that the channel is being decoded when you look at the logs? May be a dvbapi issue. Now as for the plugins - try these.
The CoolTVGuide plugin needs to be unpacked and installed manually -as the file structure is set out as
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions/ you can just send to the root - alternatively browse to the extensions folder of the zip file and copy to the same folder on your receiverAutobouquets - unzip and place in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions/ and for autobouquets to work you need to change permissions to 755 on
autobouquets_e2.sh, autobouquets and autolamedband you also need to unpack and place dvbsnoop file in /usr/bin (again the structure is laid out so can just copy to root of your receiver)

pany all the way
and will opt for plasma cant beat the vibrent colours
Plasma sets have blacker blacks and many prefer the picture quality, but since LCD sets began using LED technology they have improved. They are now bright and vibrant, and you can get a good result with them. Plasma is now an old technology, and the sets are heavier and use up more energy. A lot of manafacturers have stopped making them, although like everything, you will get those who prefer one thing over another, or old tech over newer tech, but things are moving away from plasma now, although agreed the plasma does have a few advantages over LCD such as smoother responses and better deep colours.
