I'm sure that there is a setting in the menu that, when the 800 is in standby, the voltabe feed to the lnb is removed. This will allow the 500 to control and use the dish as if it was directly connected. In some images it's referred to as 'deep standby'. It can be done but you need to do your homework for the settings etc.

For those of us that don't regularly check for software updates there are a number of updates for the new 1.3 (duo) or 1.1 (solo) VIX images menu (setup, software management, software update). These can only improve an already great image imho...

I obviously missed this info?in which post did he mention this??
    Signal Noise Rate :85-89%
    Automatic Gain Control : 6%
    Bit Error Rate : ???????
he didn?t mention.. ? or did he??

    No mention of BER

With a SNR of 85 - 89% and quality of 83 - 90% I'd be more than happy with that. By the way, where are you located?

I use the VIX images and when I've downloaded the latest cccams they have all been found in - menu, set up, softcam / ci, softcam set up waiting for the one you want to be selected.
CCcam is correct, with a ftp programme they will be found in user/softcam for deleting the ones you don't want.

It's not a known one. It could, however, be a bad download and might be worth downloading and flashing again when you get the time. Was everything else working, as far as you know, ok?

Have you done a software update (menu, setup, software management, software update)? It's very important that this is done after installing the new image.

These are the one's I'm using at the moment (4 of them).

You don't loose any electric socket and I find they perform much better than the wireless bridge I was using. The bridge was causing me streaming problems. These plugs have stopped all that.

Want to setup automatic audio track?

FTP both these .ipk files to the /tmp directory on your Vu+ and install (menu, setup, vix, IPK installer). 2sub appears in the plugin's list and is used to set required language. 2lang does not appear in the plugin's but automatically looks to 2sub for the config.

Set 2sub to your requirement and restart enigma and you're good to go.

Daveangel, is this a new hard drive or has it been used in a windows pc before you put it in the 800? For it to work correctly it'll need all partitions removing and formatting in ext3.

I agree ddaddy, make very little, if any, sense at all. So your dns is in the public domain - if you take sensible precautions you will be safe from hackers. Attaching your peers dns addresses to their fline ensures that only they can access their cline + firewalls, password changes ect, common sense really.

To preserve the 'true' picture aspect ratio you, in my opinion, should have the settings as follows:-

    display 4:3 content as Pillerbox
    display >16:9 content as letterbox

Wether or not this will give you the full menu or not I don't know.
