I couldn't agree more. I have an 90cm dish on a motor and, due to my fortunate location, have access to just about every useful sat between 60E and 60W.
In all, the lot cost me about ?60 and put it up myself.

It certainly is appreciated Martin.

Here is a Software to automate things a little: -
1: select a file. JPG 1280 x 720 and then convert it into. MVI
2: send to your Dream FTPWARNING: This version only works with VU+ /Dreambox 800/8000

An update to this thread
It looks like ViX 1.3, for the duo, along with equivalent for the solo will be released in the next day or so. They are both being fully tested prior to release now.
-
Just bought a vu+ solo, now need to read up on the technical side of things now before it lands. That should be fun
I was in the same position as you, scooby, a couple of weeks ago. Ask if you need assistance, you made a good choice. -
This is the image you will need HERE
It works extreemly well I might add... -
Yep, it's what I use

Ok, the mystery has been solved (well on my box anyway).
I have a solo and I presume it will be the same for the duo.
The cccam .bin file should reside in /usr/softcams for it to be seen in the setup menu (menu, setup, softcam / ci, softcam setup). The .ipk file puts the cccam2_2_0 bin file in /usr/bin.You need to ftp into your box and move the cccam2_2_0 file from /usr/bin to /usr/softcams and chmod to 755. You can then, with your remote, go to the softcam setup menu where you will see the new 2_2_0 file to set up as normal.
I hope all of that makes sense and please let me know if this is the same for both duo and solo

Yea, I'm sure they're wrong.
According to the footprint we're right outside the beam (unless it's an old map) -
It depends alot, I think, on your receiver. I have my motor connected to my DM800 and get only 52% with ber's but I get perfect freeze or glitch free reception in all weathers. Mind you, I don't think you can rely on the 800's signal strength reading much.
I'm in the West Mids with an 80cm dish btw. -
Thanks G'man. It then dissapears into my box (Solo) - never to be found again. It doesn't appear in my softcam set up. Any suggestions?
-
Basically - yes.
Of course it depends on your receiver. You can with the Vu+ duo treat each of the tuners as 2 independent tuners. They can be configured either single, toneburst a/b, diseqc a/b, diseqc a/b/c/d.Ok, I've just had a look at the manual for the 8000 and you can, as described above. If you look in the manual from page 59 onwards it shows you how to do this for each of the 2 tuners.

Does this work with win 7? Keeps locking up on me.

In my opinion:-
Person selling lots of clines to make a huge profit by ripping people off = payserverGroup of mates clubbing together to share a single (or multiple) card (s) = sensible

Feedback from me is if you can afford a vu+duo get one..
Best image so far is from the Vix Team, every plugin is working great and the mediaplayer is solid.
Picture quality is superb, so i cant fault this box at all.
I can only agree with what G is saying, I have a solo with the latest vix image. picture quality is superb and everything works like it should. I can't fault it. -
If you put the same CLine on 2 boxes on the same internet connect (therefor same IP address) I dont see why they wouldn't work?
If you try to use the same cline on two boxes on the same lan one will kick the other off line (try it, it happened to me accidently). You can only connect with one or the other. -
About the cheapest you'll get is the Icecrypt S4000HDPVR at about ?299. No idea about quality etc but cccam runs on it
-
I assume that if you have a solo you substitute 'duo' for 'solo' in line 3 ???
-
prolly all gone by now...

No worries m8, we always welcome interesting sites.
