    I've had this happen umpteen times and it was always down to me having moved my dish and not checking the configuration correctly....but I would try what urie has suggested first of all...I dont believe it's possible to change the tuners on these boxes....

    Does anyone know whether I can confirm that the DVB-S2 tuners have broken, rather than being misconfigured?

    I've just taken the STB apart and it looks like the Tuners are soldered to the mainboard :( so a DIY repair is out of the question.

    Have you double checked you tuner selection in case they are set to wrong one. Also machine may still be under warranty.

    I've tried everything under tuner selection, many, many times. The box was under warranty when this first started happening but I didn't report it in time.

    My ZGEMMA H7S STB running OpenATV stopped receiving via its DVB-S2 tuners about a month ago. The DVB-T2 tuner continues to work.

    Does anyone know whether I can confirm that the DVB-S2 tuners have broken, rather than being misconfigured? I have spent a lot of time with various configuration options but cannot complete a frequency scan.

    Is it possible to replace the tuners?

    Be sure you have sat signal.

    Simple things first.

    One of my customers told me on Friday last that their satellite was working until I repaired the terrestrial amplifier. They were 100% adamant so when I checked I found the lnb was not in the mounting bracket at all. It was hanging at the side of the dish.

    Explain that one.

    The dish itself is on the roof of a block of flats ...

    Having just done a Service Scan, no channels were found, so, either my dish has become disconnected, or something has broken within my STB...

    Since I don't have an alternative STB I don't know of any way of checking reception.

    Is there a diagnostics program I can try to see if either of the tuners have broken?

    Delete all cams from image install new cam fresh from OpenATV cam feed

    Use oscam stable ! Enjoy

    I think I may have messed up my upgrade to OpenATV 6.4 so would like to try again. I'd prefer to start again from scratch. I only need to restore my bouquets... have probably accumulated too much junk over the last year, now need a good tidy up...

    Yes, FTA channels do not need a softcam. FTA channels work without Oscam.

    If OscamWebif works, then you can try replace the another version of Oscam (newer or older version).

    It's also likely that the configuration has been lost from your old Oscam and that you're working on a basic configuration. And that's why Oscam behaves differently.

    Just to take Oscam out of the equation, how do I uninstall it from the command line? I don't have access to the box via remote control, only via telnet.

    It looks like Oscam didn't start after booting Enigma / Linux. Thus, Oscam is incorrectly installed or the Oscam configuration (oscam configuration directory) is lost / deleted. You need to reinstall Oscam in OpenATV and also restore your original Oscam configuration files to the appropriate folder.

    Whether Oscam is running or not should not prevent FTA channels being shown... I can start Oscam via Webif and can view the log

    I'm using OpenATV 6.4.20201030 (2020-10-26), which was installed from within 6.3 as I was unable to install via USB. Initially the system worked fine but started to hang frequently after a few hours, but after a reboot would come back. But since yesterday nothing gets output to the TV. I can still login via Webif and even change channels, but nothing gets output. Capturing a screenshot just shows a black display.

    It does not appear to be related to Oscam since FTA channels are not displayed either.

    I can telnet into the box so am able to examine the filesystem, but not sure where to look for an indication as to what isn't working.

    After managing to update my Zgemma H7S to OpenATV 6.4 yesterday I have been experiencing frequent hangs which required a reboot to resume service. However now I'm unable to get any service after several reboots, as well as hard resets. I am still able to login remotely and can access the file system so am in a position to manually observe or change any settings.

    Any suggestions as to where to look?

    I'm running OpenATV 6.3 on a Zgemma H7 - no local card, run as client, mainly using Polish channels on Hotbird 13.0E.

    Reception is pretty good on some channels, but others experience some breakups and hangs.

    I have yet to figure out how to isolate such errors in my logs.

    In emulator reader is added example for your four providers. You must have four such readers and change with correct

    label, host and usr / pwd . Can you please attach here your oscam.server as file. An emulator is required if you want to

    watch PowerVU ( 4.8E and 0.8 W) , Arenasport 1 - 4 ( 1.9E) or encrypted Biss channels. In attach is SoftCam.key.

    You can C/P in Oscam Webif . Go to Files - other files - Softcam.key .

    Thanks for the file, although I'm not sure I can use it. I only watch mainly Polish channels on Hotbrd (13.0E) and don't know anything about PowerVU or Arenasport or even encrypted Biss channels. My oscam.server is a copy of the one you provided in #17 of this thread with the addition of usr/pwd etc for my four readers.

    When you use proxy than disable emu reader

    but you have become many helpful support for your little problem, know I’m out here.

    I have no real idea how things work regarding OSCAM and blindly follow instructions provided. Not sure what an emu reader is or what is meant by a proxy. I simply have an STB and use a remote system for decryption. I would like use OSCAM as a black box for decryption and to most intents and purposes it works ok except for short hangs and picture breaks, although some channels perform better than others. I'm just trying figure out if there is some configuration option which would improve performance.

    Hi balanga

    This is my configs for oscam. It's not a secret for share because is universal. Replace these configs with yours in etc / tuxbox / config.

    In oscam.server you will find reader for your CCam readers. You must have four identical for your four readers. In CCam reader change

    with your correct parametars , label, device, host and usr / pwd which you use. In oscam global and CCCam readers is also

    disablecrccws for watching S*y DE and TNTSAT on Astra 19E. If you have any question feel free to ask me.

    I've copied your config files and am now trying to make sure things work correctly... In your oscam.server there is an emulator reader, which on my system, under status on the oscam web interface, shows READER DEVICE ERROR (no entitlements) - The emulator section is just a copy of the one provided. Do I need to change it for my system? Doesn't seem to do anything for me, although I'm not sure what it is supposed to provide.

    Returning to my original thread about resolving intermittent hangs, I have now updated my configs in line with provided recommendations and would like to quantify the quality of service by checking my logs. I have no local cards, and the reception I get is pretty good on some channels even though I experience occasional hangs and some picture breakup, although other channels hangs are more frequent.

    Can anyone recommend a way of monitoring the situation to identify when the errors occur?

    Look here

    Code
    0 = no debugging (default)
    1 = detailed error messages
    2 = ATR parsing info, ECM dumps, CW dumps
    4 = traffic from/to the reader
    8 = traffic from/to the clients 16 = traffic to the reader-device on IFD layer
    32 = traffic to the reader-device on I/O layer 64 = EMM logging 128 = DVB API logging
    256 = load balacing logging 512 = cache exchange logging
    1024 = client ECM logging
    65535 = debug all

    Oscam WIKI

    Many thanks for this, I just wish I understood what all this means. Oscam is piece of black magic to me. I'm glad it works but don't know how.

    It would be nice to come across a beginners guide to ECM CAID EMM IFD as I've little understanding about how all this hangs together.
