  • Upgrade to Dreambox two / Vu+ Duo 4k? 🤔

    Then let me fill in about the Dreambox Two UHD.

    The box is rocket fast and have a picture quality that matches any other device. Blindscan works okey but is not the best on the market.

    But then again the BlindScans function is for most users not neeeded,


    There are plenty of images to select from. But if you are not a very skilled person stay clear of all the unofficial OpenAlliance images.

    It's here you find the unhappy customers who have flashed and image not supported by DreamProperty. And when they later flash a DreamOS based image and restore the settings they end up with a broken bootloader/rescue loader. Never restore any settings when switching from diffrent images.


    And all this arguments that the enigma2 source is closed as an option for not choosing a Dreambox.

    Well let me say it like this. How many users have the need to to do changes to the enigma2 source code or skills?

    Images comes with all the python file uncompiled.

    Also Python 3 is comming soon with the latest OE for Dreambox Seven. This OE will apply to Dreambox One/TWO/Seven


    Yes there is a diffrence when it comes to the package system (ipk and deb)

    If you are a Linux user then the deb package system should not be a problem, If not then you learn fast

    Most plugins works just fine but there are plugins for Open Alliance that does not work and vice versa.

    If you are using E2iPlayer then Dreambox is not for you. But instead you can use MediaPortal.


    In the end if you want something new then go for the Dreambox Two UHD. If you like what you have and only want and HW upgrade go for the Vu+Duo4Kse


    If you really want something new stick with your Edison and wait for the Dreambox Seven

  • Do not power off your box!!!

    I see all to many users switching of their boxes with the power switch when they crash or freeze. This just add to the issues you all ready have and corrupt yout box settings.

    So instead you should make your self acquainted with the Terminal connection to your box.


    This can be done several ways. There are softwares to install on your computer. I recommend Putty.

    I have attached putty to this post and here is also a short youtube video explaining how to connect with putty.


    So after you have installed putty and setup your login. For all boxes the username is root as in the video.

    Most image demand that you go to the box settings and provide a passoword your self before you can log in with putty.

    If not done yet you have to do this. Most images has the set password under Network Menu.

    Else just check around your setup or system meny and you find it.

    When you have set a password you can login with putty.


    Now we have the Terminal window open and can now restart the box


    In terminal window just type reboot now putty window will close by it self and your box will shutdown proper before it starts up again.

    This can take some time, up to several minutes so be aware that the box is not responding but it's normal.

    All this works of cause just as fine with DCC/VUCC or Shell in a box extension for the web interface


    So to keep your box in good shape use Terminal to force reboot and not the power switch :)

    Let's test the grab manual. From telnet/dcc/putty run this command and let me now if you get any errors?

    Also in your tmp folder an jpg file has been created check that image

    Really dont now why you have the slow load of OW and why screenshoot is not working to be honest. And if this would be an issue just because of OW only I assume that there would be a massiv report of the same issues. And i can't replicate the issues my self on the same dm and same image.


    But did you have the same issue when using port 90?

    You can battle it out over pm please ;)


    But to your issue about slow OW. The skin has nothing todo with OW perfomance. And if the Screenshoots don't work there must be some other issues with your Dreambox. Is it an original or a clone? and what image are you using?

    Snodige greier ;) Må hva noe med selve boksen ja, For desse kanaler trenger ju ikke module engang.

    Men så virker ju SVT kanalerna og DR kanalerna uten extra abonnemang i Oscam men ikke med module på mitt Norska kort :)

    Hmm.. da ville jeg testa og bruke CI assignment for og legge til kun de parrede kanalerna på modulen da vil den overstyre Oscam i fall det er noe rart som skjer der kanskje? Og AC3 downmix har du sikkert testa og slått på og av ??

    Det som virker best for meg er i hvertfall at hvis du har kun en module sett den på toppen

    Slå på HigBitrate støtte så virker allt uten problem, Men som sagt har ikke den mottakern så kan hva den trenger noen gst plugins fra feeden som ikke er installert fra start. Har sett det førr at samme image kan hva forskjellige i forskjellige tuner. Noe har eksempelvis ikke ffmpeg installert fra grunn som legges til selv. Hva er det for et lyd format på desse kanaler?
