Well ... I've asked Captain a procedure roll back GPT to Legacy !
and to implement ChkRoot on Dream ONE/TWO ! He is not interested
i such a project !
The answer is NO !!!
I've done a similar complex test on Amiko Viper 4K V30 ! is working like
a charm ! what a good quality work !!!
-
In the last two days I've made an intensive testing with
ChkRoot on DM 920 UHD ! First of all ... it works like a charm !
all is a mater of respecting some simple rules ... I've done
some 20 installations in the 6 Slots without any major incident !
- don't use yet OATV 7.6 as BASE image ... it is at his beginnings
- don't use DreamOS images in ChkRoot ( Captain rule)
- use Multiboot Manager or Multiboot Helper plugin to navigate
- reuse without fear old images Slots !
- most advanced OpenE2 image after OATV comes from raed
- install the Multiboot Helper plugin in any SLAVE image
wich does not have a functional Multiboot Manager
as follows ...
Download link : https://mega.nz/file/j4UBwByY#…mPRHlboRRzIQ6S6WeZWQefJaI
- discard OpenHDF , it does not understand Triple Tuner !
- if something wrong is happen ... use a "cleanup" helper
then revive ChkRoot ... always works !
- don't expect Recovery Mode to repair damages ! it doesn't !
is just a last refuge if system does not start at all !
As a rule ... this works even if the boot process starts,
you have Logo on the screen and is hanging for some
reason ! Telnet already works and can fix the STARTUP !
-
Install this plugin , then you'll find in /plugins/softcams ... a feed !

Flashing in Recovery Mode requires tar file type !
You must unpack .zip archive and inside you'll find
rootfs-one.tar.bz2 ... this in the file you must provide !

Multiboot Helper plugin
Because I had everything I needed, since the time I was building
Oscam.ipk daily for Enigma2 A5 ... so I decided to do it myself!!!
So I've cleanup OpenVIX image ...

Multiboot Helper plugin first execution ...

Multiboot Helper plugin second execution ...

Here I am ! boot into PurE2 !

Bingo !!!
-
The problem has now a solution as Menu items !
- the "multiboot-selector.sh"
- the Multiboot helper plugin
All is detailed here ... Multiboot for all (EN) - Page 5 - openATV Forum
-
Novaler have native MultiBoot !!! does not need this one !
-
Everything starts with a clean install of recent OpenATV !!!
then follow the posted images !
-
Warning !
Because only OpenATV has knowledge of ChkRoot Multiboot ... any operation
of "Flash online" type made from an image other than OpenATV will rewrite
the base image !!! So populate and update MultiBoot only from OpenATV !
which will recognize your partition table and will exploit it correctly as a
Multiboot one!

Multiboot Selector
The selector is a script that is called from TelNet, an image independent script !!!
it also works in OpeATV and PurE2 ... I called it from PurE2 to reboot into OpenATV,
the base image.
Codewget -O /tmp/multiboot-selector.sh "http://source.mynonpublic.com/multiboot-selector.sh" && chmod 777 /tmp/multiboot-selector.sh && /tmp/multiboot-selector.shThe script accepts user selection 1-4 ! then you can Reboot to selected destination.

I will reproduce here the full post of Captain! It refers to a generalization of MultiBoot
support for EMMC based receivers other than those to which the Kexec Multiboot method
was applied! Essentially ... everything starts from the "clean" installation of an OpenATV
image more recent than the one published on 29 Apr 2025!
Chkroot Multiboot
Chkroot is a method used in the Linux environment to detect and prepare root
filesystems for alternate boot configurations. By default, Multiboot is disabled
on all devices. For supported models, a menu item appears allowing you to
activate Multiboot. You can also disable it again.
The system remembers the setting, even after a reboot—unless you reinstall
the image. After activation, the box will reboot. The first boot will take a little
longer while Slot 1 is set up in the root filesystem.
You can then go to Software-Flash Online and install another image into a slot.
Most EMMC devices have 4 GB of storage, which allows for 4 Multiboot slots.
These share the same flash area. You can check usage and available space
in the Information Menu.
Since these devices didn’t have Multiboot support before, older or third-party
images might not include a menu entry to install or switch between slots.
Manual slot switching: To switch slots manually via Telnet or SSH, use:Devices currently supported by chkroot Multiboot:

Android DTV application for Zgemma H9S SE is a basic one !
just a DEMO that ... is possible ! no one uses and maintain it now !
the only positive fact is the application to return at Enigma2 !!!
-
Better try to install EGAMI in flash and make under it
a Multiboot on a fast SD card < = 64 Gb ! is working !
-
Mut@nt HD51 -- Again ! clean install from OATV 7.6 and OpenPLi 9.1 ...
does not boot ! no Telnet and FTP active ! Multiboot slot is OK supports
a different image install !
-
You're right ! previous build was working ! but ... bad news !
does not boot and I have no FTP or Telnet active !!!
Clean install from OpenATV ... no video output !!! not even spinner !
-
Mut@nt HD51 ... image does not boot !!!
-
Just put a USB stick into it , go to Flash Online and choose the image and the destination !
OATV is enforcing some name rules for image archives ! so stick on them !
-
I have a Dream ONE Combo ... this has a native DVB-C tuner ! and I'm using
it with Oscam EMU on cable channels without problems ! On the other hand
you will not be able to use an external DVB-C device due to missing Kernel
software support ! I'm not sure but I think there is no Dream TWO with native
DVB-T2/C tuner .
-
- my post was about controlling the behavior at Reboot !
- about building SD card image ... you can do it from
Gemini DreamOS using dumbo.sh as presented here :
