Have you enabled auto start?
Also, make sure you do not have the L value/address in mg _cfg that sends logs to a non-existent IP address.
Enabled auto start,
I have a L line that reads
L:{02}.................
Do I need to change this value back to 0?

Try with these configs buddy..
I think i might have fixed it.
I went into cams, stopped cam, disabled autostart.
Restarted box
Back into cam and enabled mg and enabled auto start.
Restarted box.
Appears to be ok.
Will keep those config in case it stops

Overwrite your original configs with the ones master g posted.
Send them to /usr/keys (back up your original ones first)

im gonna be super stupid and ask that i assume i dont send the newcamd.list file as it will overwrite what i have and screw my line up?
Update
I have sent the other 3 files to the box
stopped the cam
restarted the cam
and now restarted the box.
fingers and toes crossed :-)
Thats correct, no need to swap the Newcamd.list, the fault is likely an incorrect value in the mg.cfg file as suggested by other posters ;-)
Ok so I did this last night. After I did it I rebooted the box through the menu..... Cam started ok.
Restarted box again.... Cam started again.
This morning turn box on. It does an epg refresh at 430..got message to say epg finished but....... Cam did not start... Had to manually start it.
Watched a recorded program. When this finished and went back to live view..... Cam had stopped again.
Is it time to look at oscam... Which I've never used before or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thankfully my friend has just set it up for me. Fingers crossed it works better
