It's working (software detects the interface and the SCL SDA are toggling checked with a scope)
but no reply from our target (not a Vu box), so BBS and the JTAG seem disabled on our target.

I did some testing myself and i get no responce at all from the VU+ Duo.
Try'd different homebrew i2C and JTAG adapters and programs. Nothing...

Does anyone know if the BCM7335 chip has a build in IP address?
The Network interface is activated and still working.

  • I also searched the entire web to find exact model of the jtag used. Unfortunately no exact match.
The closest I found is this One thing I'm pretty sure is that the core of BBS tool is Cypress FX2 USB 2.0 chip.

Otherwise the procedure described here is USELESS unless you have the exact jtag.

It's just like reading recipe cook book without actually eating.

So I sincerely hope that the author and starter of all this CASUELA, will take a pity on us and give us exact details we need to know.

The link lead to a USB to JTAG adapter.
I think we talking about a USB to I2C apdapter here.

On the other hand I think it should be possible to connect the VU+ in coma to a working VU+ using a crossover I2C cable. By using special software on the working VU+ it could be possible to connect to the VU+ in COMA through the I2C connection.
I am working on something like that but I have only a VU+ in coma :(

  • Can anyone tell me how long it will take before that I can buy it????

There are photos, so some one is testing....and there is at least one divice.

    I need one desperately....

    ThanX: ExtremeDream.

  • You wont be able to buy the exact board, unless you buy it from broadcom. If you zoom in on the pictures you will see the broadcom logo on the back of the PCB on one of the chips.

It just seems to be a generic FX2LP USB2.0 chip. If you program the board with the PID / VID I supplied, it will be recognised by the software, and it will download the firmware into it.

When we tried to connect, we noticed the SDA, SCK lines working with our scope, but JTAG and BBS seems disabled on our box which isn't a VU box.

    Mick

  • this is how when a Company do not give information to costumers. Vu+ knows what the Jtag is, but they supplie only the dealers with this. End costumer have to wait or send the bad boxes back to dealer and wait for repair
Bad ways to make us happy.

  • Hi, mick, what are the SDA and SCL pins I / O of the Cypress EZ-USB FX2LP CY7C68013A USB2.0 Board Module Developement develope?
