    I tortured mine a little bit too much, apparently... :laugh1: It gave up...

    You need the appropriate cable and for this box the connectors are on the motherboard itself, so open it up and connect only (my case below: https://www.adafruit.com/product/954 ):

    These settings and files might not be for your machine!!! It seems like a lot of experimenting should go on, as I could not see anything PRECISE and EXHAUSTIVE on the net... It seems I must dig into this...

    I politely requested these xml files for repartitioning of a H9.x/H9.2x flash (and other similar, not easily found files) be made available to us by the authors of the HiTool, i.e. Huawei but...

    Ha, forgot to post the update, sorry...


    I got a connection but with a different laptop running Winblows7 64b - drivers are everything...


    However, I just couldn't get out of the "timeout" problem, the boot file is just not being transferred and whatever else I try - not working...


    There are various possibilities and I am not an IT educated person, so I tried all kinds of combinations: NET connection, USB TTL cable, together, only "Burn Fastboot" and other possibilities but...


    I think for reflashing with repartitioning one needs an xml file with partition addresses - but I don't have one. Can anyone make it, please? I can't get it from Huawei (owners of HiSilicon), sadly, despite a 'gentle request'...


    Anyone with ideas/knowledge/experience, please?

    Before getting into many details, connect the serial port and use a terminal program (not HiTool, see here for some alternatives: https://helpdeskgeek.com/free-…ows-7-8-10-hyperterminal/); settings for the port, try 115200, 8N1, if this doesn't work try the more conservative/traditional 9600 8N1. Then from within the terminal program, with the serial port attached/cable connected, power-on the box, note if you see any output, and try pressing enter a couple of times. Assuming you add output, please capture it and paste here.


    On a tangent, do you have an example xml file for partitioning, that you say you need, even if it's for a different box/flash model?

    Misunderstanding: I asked for XML partitioning files for this box (and any box) to be released for all to use, when in trouble... I know of others in a similar situation, so...


    Box is Zgemma H9S. It may have been fooked when a command to get back from mSD regime (root on it) to flash regime (root on NAND) did not work properly...


    And now I can't flash the fastboot file and hence I can't flash the box from USB, sadly...


    Let me connect it all and try again, please...

    I went to Device Manager of my Win7 laptop and the Prilific drivers are installed, COM6 recognised, it seems OK, as a connection.


    Then, I tried with 2 different settings in Hyperterminal, alas no output, sadly....


    I also tried HiTool, just in case....

    Seems obvious, but make sure you're not swapping rx/tx on serial port... and there was something about only connecting tx/rx/gnd, not the power.

    Yes, I know, it's above, I wrote about it....
