  • Good Day Everyone, I have finally had a chance to get back on my satellite and first I want to say sorry, It is 4100H not V I was talking about. I am still having issues with it. I keep having the error "reader not found". I have not changed anything with my config - it worked well before and now I get this error. Has this changed? DO I have an issue in config? This is challenging me and as I have read through this I see it is still clearing for some people. Has me scratching my head.

This one is active 0068AA28 F83A3593DAAB1A ; EMM Key [Valid, MTV4100H105w.pid-90.bin]. IF you have it in your file put it at the bottom of the group. Here are the working ecm's 0 and 1.

See if this config folder helps. Just add your key file.

Since oscam can work with PowerVu in two modes, it is necessary to clarify which one is being used.
    https://github.com/oscam-emu/o…d-old/wiki/PowerVU-config
either srvid + key or group + key.

If srvid is used, each program must have its own line in the softcam.key (key 00/01),

if group is used, the entire transponder works with one line in the softcam.key (key 00/01).

Your listing is missing the channelhash information, so we must assume that each transponder program has its own line with a valid current key.

Usually if the file does not contain a valid key it will be displayed

    • 2025/02/24 19:14:52 56EC63B1 r (emu) csaUsed: 0, xorMode: 0, ecmSrvid: 005A, hashModeCw: 0, modeCW: 0
    • 2025/02/24 19:14:52 56EC63B1 r (emu) channel hash: F5980B56, group id: 0049
    • 2025/02/24 19:14:52 56EC63B1 r (emu) Key not found or invalid: P ****005A 00
    • 2025/02/24 19:14:52 56EC63B1 r (emu) Key not found or invalid: P 0049FFFF 00
    • 2025/02/24 19:14:52 56EC63B1 r (emu) ECM failed: Key not found

If the file does not contain a valid line, it will display

    • 2025/02/24 19:17:25 56EC63B1 r (emu) csaUsed: 0, xorMode: 0, ecmSrvid: 005A, hashModeCw: 0, modeCW: 0
    • 2025/02/24 19:17:25 56EC63B1 r (emu) channel hash: F5980B56, group id: 0000
    • 2025/02/24 19:17:25 56EC63B1 r (emu) Key not found or invalid: P ****005A 00
    • 2025/02/24 19:17:25 56EC63B1 r (emu) ECM failed: Key not found

If the file contains a null key, the answer is

    capture_012_24022025_192227.png

When launching or testing, it is advisable to switch Debug to the value 2 (in Config or LiveLog) so that all relevant data can be seen.

    capture_010_24022025_192002.png

If you use oscam.services, it may happen that you block access to some programs.

If the ECM contains nano 01, public oscam will not decode such a program, even though it contains the correct key.

  • In my key file I use both methods. At times it can take a long time. Or never. Using hash/group.
It was explained to me that, at least for E2 receivers. The key file is read from bottom to top.
Group/hash seems to work faster for me. But many times after waiting for a long time. Adding group/sid is faster.
At any rate. 8 characters are always used for group/srvid.
    So the git example:

    groupid : 1

    srvid : 25CA

    key number : 00 and 01

    key : 11223344556677 and 8899AABBCCDDEE

    P 0125CA 00 11223344556677

    Always is:

    P 000125CA 00 11223344556677

Will always be the underlined and bolded sample.
I have rewritten my softcam.keys file practiaclly from the ground up.
Groups start with the first transponder on a satellite. 125W, for example could be 1125, 2125, etc. With hex values such as A125 being used

I'm seeing folks using the same group id with different hashes. Not exactly documented. I might be mistaken.
    Ex:

    EA2614B2 GROUP 2125 ; 125W tp xx

    C7E7B860 GROUP 2125 ; 105W tp xx

Which at times will clear the same channels but on different satellites. But not always.

There was mention of capitalizing GROUP. Initially keys were posted with the word in lower case. And was how I created groups and used them.
    Now all are capitalized.

I have been populating ECM keys over group/hash. Seems to work well. Keeping to the "keys are read from bottom to top" hint. Seems to work well and fast.
    Ex:

    P 3131FFFF 01 0123456789ABCD ;

    P 3131FFFF 00 0123456789ABCD ;

    P 8E7B0012 GROUP 3131 ;

Group/SID usually follows the standard format.

    PVHE returns these keys:

    P 0000 00 238906F1BCAB1A ; ECM Key0 [Valid, XX.txt]

    [2025/02/23 06:25:41.855]

    P 0000 01 F0A85A27C1DDFD ; ECM Key1 [Valid, XX.txt]

    [2025/02/23 06:25:41.953]

    P 005CFB04 00 F136AF3B723E79 ; EMM Key [Valid, XX.txt]

But at the end of the keys file when new ECM keys are written. Simply copying and pasting them to the correct sat, tp, group section and editing works.

Using the UA with EMM key. Surprising. But works well.

    Ex:

    P C1030079 01 F0A85A27C1DDFD ; added by Emu Sun Feb 23 07:25:06 2025 UA: 005CFB04

    P C1030079 00 238906F1BCAB1A ; added by Emu Sun Feb 23 07:25:06 2025 UA: 005CFB04

And copying the UA, editing the SID from it. And the result is:

    Ex:

    P C1030079 01 F0A85A27C1DDFD ; added by Emu Sun Feb 23 07:25:06 2025 UA: 005CFB04

    P C103007A 00 00000000000000 ; xxxx HD

    P C103007A 01 00000000000000 ; xxxxHD

    P C1030079 01 00000000000000 ; xxxx HD

And....it works. After a restart of oscam. Sometimes after a receiver reboot.

Even though the UA is using the ECM keys. I am no pro at this, just find what works and roll with it.

  • It is unnecessary to add EMM UA to ECM KEY. EMM UA works correctly only with EMM KEY.

    Code
P XXXXXXXX GROUP C103 ; channel hash (XXXXXXXX from LiveLog) for position 1 and transponder 1
P xxxxxxxx GROUP C103 ; channel hash (xxxxxxxx from LiveLog) for position 2 and transponder 2
    P C103 005CFB04 F136AF3B723E79 ; GROUP + EMM UA + EMM KEY
    P C103FFFF 00 238906F1BCAB1A ; ECM KEY 00 for transponder
    P C103FFFF 01 F0A85A27C1DDFD ; ECM KEY 01 for transponder
  • An EMM key is never written at the bottom of the keys file.

I invite you to try using the newly written keys along with ECM as I've shown. It works.

  • The ecm keys are not going to au the next time they change without the full ua and emm so why not just add the proper info in the softcam key file and let it au for you.

Thanks for the emm ,I didn't have that one.

  • -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The ecm keys are not going to au the next time they change without the full ua and emm".

I believe you are incorrect. UA was occurring several years ago before using the "new method based on....".
Creating my own group based on the satellite name (P 0103) and finding the SID from either live log or E2 menu>information>service and adding the ECM found here and there. Worked just fine.

EMM's are not always handed out. ECM's have been. And thanks for that. Kinda' answers the 'so what' thing. I would if I could, and I do when I can.

Not so sure what EMM you didn't have. Think it could be a derivative of using the UA at the end of the added by line and the new ECM?

Unless I run logged files or a TS through pvhe. Or snag them from the 'net. I have no source for new EMM's.
A little FYI. Ive even grabbed UA's from eBay photos of commerial rack mount receivers. Combined with a correctly formatted line using ECM and those UA's.
Channels have cleared. And new keys are added at the end of the file.

So. Tell me. Have I missed something in the config files that enables oscam to write new EMM's along with ECM's that it already is doing?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • In post 266 you show PVHE returned the ecm keys and emm. That emm is what I didn't have and I tested it and it is valid.

No the oscam emu does not write the emm. You need that for au to happen. Everything I have, I have collected from the web from people like you so thanks. Greatly appreciate it.

  • From my experience, I noticed that on tps that are rolling every so often (eg: 103w-3940v), I had to erase the old ecm keys written at the bottom of softcamkey file, for the oscam to be able to read the emm from above & generate new ecm keys in order to open the channel. This (imo) makes sense, as oscam is looking for keys in softcamkey, from the bottom up, & when finds an old set of ecm key gets stuck in there, before reading the emm keys from above.

So, this is what i do when a channel was opened yesterday& is not opening today: go in the softcamkey file & erase all old ecm keys entries for this ch from the bottom of the list. In this way, oscam gets a chance to reach & roll emm keys written above. From webif I can identify the group # witch oscam has trouble to open. Luckily there are not to many problem tps.

    NIHIL SINE DEO !

I agree. But be careful and backup the file before doing so. Or you may find channels that opened before are now dead.
It is not a plug and play system. Of course.
Here's a brand new key file I wrote from added by. It's for a single channel on 58W 4080V SID 12 (000C hex).
Using only UA and ECM. No EMM available. And in time, it too will update.
It can also clear the same channel on 127W with a group and sid edit.

    SoftCam_Key.txt

  • You have that UA and EMM in another group somewhere in your key file is why in time the 58w tp channels clear. and when it does it will show update with that UA.

Nothing to do with adding that UA with an ECM key. BTW I have That 0063BF15 UA and EMM in my 127w group.

  • Other channels would need to AU because they are in a different group. What I am talking about In this case an EMM is available with your normal key file from every day use. When you add the UA and ECM to a group and the ecm keys are old or not valid oscam-emu will use that UA only not the ECM and sees the full UA and EMM from another group in this case to AU the current ECM keys. So there is an EMM available for these services. I have no doubt that the services will clear using UA and ECM because you do have the ECM keys needed to clear them. I just don't believe they will AU when needed without the full UA and EMM if it wasn't already in another group some where in the key file.

  • Use PVHE to deduce which EMMs are valid for one or more satellites and with that you will have your softcam up to date. Delete everything in oscam.dvbapi if it is not configured correctly instead of helping you will cause problems mainly in biss channels and even PV.
