X-Streamity - Xtream Codes IPTV Player

    What do you mean I just highlight movie and press epg then select film from list once info is loaded i press menu then there is option to play trailer.

    And it is working.

    Well that must just be imdb trailers then, and my imdb isn't working at the moment either. (just updated and fixed that)

    I have built in trailers. If the icon is a filled in play icon, you can long press ok and load the TMDB trailer.

    This uses pytubefix library, but later version of this wont work. So I have to restrict it to 9.5.1. Which will be in the next release.


    IMDB - host it own trailers, so they should play quicker.
    Where as TMDB are usually youtube trailer clips, so you have to hack them to work on these boxes.

    In fact I cant do that, IMDB api is a paid service. The imdb plugin only works as the user selects from a choice. Its not automatic. Then they parse the on page json. Fck that.!

    Well its simple really.
    TMDB is free with an API key (with limits). Where as IMDB is now paid for.

    IPTV providers therefore switched use to TMDB. Historically xtream codes originally used IMDB.

    They have references to TMDB IDs in their data.
    I good provider will add all the TMDB into their data. But when you now got 10s of thousands of VOD in their playlists, they never in a million years going to keep them all updated,
    So you have the option of turning on TMDB which will refresh this data as it loads rather than the old static data.

    IMDB - in theory has much better data.
    Most oe-alliance images come with IMDB. Its very hacky as it just does a general find, then parses the on page data for your chosen selection. oe-alliance doesn't use an official API key.
    I never read IMDB data in my plugin, but you can call the IMDB plugin from my plugin for alternative info and as mentioned above, ease of playing trailers.

    Good evening Kiddac, just purchased a VU + Zero4K from site sponsor currently running OpenVix & Open Tv on both images Xstreamity take about 12 seconds to play a stream displaying busy box spinner & same time to exit a stream.


    I have exactly the same setup on my Uno4Kse Xstreamity plays streams instantly,


    I also have Bouquet maker xtream installed on both boxes, if I delete EPG cache from Bouquets created by Bouquets Maker Xtream Xstreamity does play streams instantly.


    Any ideas?

    I can send you debug logs from both boxes privately if it would help.

    have you tried setting path for epg in xstreamity

    Both of my boxes have Xstreamity epg saved to etc/enigma2/xstreamity/epg

    I save to usb.

    That is going to fill up your internal flash memory. Please use a storage device.


    Plugin could do with reading the epg cache location and using that.

    Thanks for the advice guys, I have set xstreamity epg saved location to my storage device & the lag I was experiencing with xstreamity has gone.

    :smiling face: will be in next release. Probably wont work on dreamboxes though unless they have the same config setting?, so they will still have to manually set it.

    I'm using Xstreamity and XKlass on my DUO4KSE box.


    I create the same directory for the iptvepg directory for both Xstreamity and XKlass:


    /etc/enigma2/iptvepg/

    or

    /media/hdd/iptvepg/


    Result:

    It's sufficient to load the EPG only via Xstreamity.

    The EPG is then automatically used by XKlass as well.

    that has always been possible the same, as using same playlists file. Some just put playlists file into enigma2 folder.

    This is a big code update, but nothing has really changed front end. It might be a little more responsive.

    Removed legacy PNG hack
    Better memory management
    Better URL call management
    Better clean up on exit.
    Better cover art download code to stop it getting confused as you scroll.
    EPG folder will be set the same as where EPG.dat file is saved
    Fixed inbuilt TMDB trailers for those who use them via VOD lists.
    Lots of minor tweaks.
