  • My setup: Uno 4k SE, OpenATV 7.5.1
Does quarter pounder only work while using the exteplayer? I ask because sometimes I'd like to record programs that are on during the night, and recording does not work when using the exteplayer.

you can read the documentation available here it may help.

the fact recording may not work with exteplayer could just be down to provider.

Maybe, it's been a while; probably easier for you or someone else to test again (this depends on Enigma2, not the plugin); I remember several discussions about also changing the various players for the different services in serviceapp, but honestly can't recall the conclusions.

  • USEFUL INFO Not sure weather its been said before. but you can confirm/check what service reference is actually being played on your box by going to "menu" then "information" then press "service" (on different box OS it may be different, i use Openatv) it will show what player id your are using eg 4097 or 5002 etc. Or a better way you can hotkey "channel info" in "settings". I use yellow button for all hotkeys. Hotkey is located in menu -setup- usage & gui - hotkey (on openatv)

for those who want the latest extplayer3 i use exteplayer181 right now from this guy ...skyjet18s github exteplayer3/ipk at master · skyjet18/exteplayer3 · GitHub go to code section then click on the green code section then you should see download zip. extract folders using winrar then find ipk section for ffmpeg and exteplayer 3 files. there are two architectures arm and mips32 which is old. to find out your architecture in ssh type uname -m or cat /proc/cpuinfo

    here is setup

Recommended Safe Order (via SSH/Telnet)Run these commands one by one:

    opkg update

    opkg remove --force-depends exteplayer3 ffmpeg enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp enigma2-plugin-extensions-serviceapp

(This removes old exteplayer3, ffmpeg, and any ServiceApp packages — the --force-depends flag handles dependencies cleanly.)Then reboot the box (or at least restart GUI: init 4 && sleep 5 && init 3).After reboot, FTP/Scp i personally use (Winscp) the new exteplayer3_*.ipk and ffmpeg_*.ipk (matching your architecture, arm for h11s,dream920 etc mips32el for H2S) to /tmp.Then install:

    opkg install --force-overwrite /tmp/ffmpeg_*.ipk /tmp/exteplayer3_*.ipk

(Use --force-overwrite if it complains about existing files.)Finally, install/reinstall ServiceApp if needed:

    opkg install enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp

Reboot fully (power cycle recommended). This is the standard way from Enigma2 forums — uninstall old → install new custom → ServiceApp last. After that, set Exteplayer3 as default in ServiceApp menu. Good luck.
