If u r using cheap chinese brand usb . keep in mind it will not work .

use sandisk or kingston data traveler .

that it could be because of usb and adapter

Rocco can you say exactly what you are doing?? That splash screen looks like a factory image. Do you know the IP address of the box? You could look in your router. That recovery is supposed to overwrite everything.

Also, try this but make sure the remote is pointing at the front of box ALL the time, may need 2 people. Press the red standby button on remote and keep it pressed, push power at back and still kee[p standby pressed. Wait and wait and see if box can generate boot menu but don't rush. Be patient and if notjhing at first repeat. how old is box? still under guarantee.
