I got the unit today. I wasn't sure if it had a protective cover on the front of the unit. I phoned the supplier and it had and just peel it off. I tried to peel it with my nail but I couldn't get it off. I tried ductape on it but still didn't work. I am concerned if it hasn't got a cover on then the unit would be scratched to hell.

The supplier said there is definitely a film u can remove but I can't seem to remove it. Also there is dirt trapped behind the screen. I think I will be sending it back.

    Cheers

Not a good start, the dirt is alarming......would it show up in a picture?

I will send it back and rethink. Why put a cover on so u got to damage the corner getting it off. seems crazy to me. The older units had a tab so it would rip off easily. Thanks for the reassurance

Did you get it from wos ?

    No mate.

Well I'm kind of glad to hear that in a way, i would not have expected any such issues from WOS.

WOS is this forums sponsor..... BUT besides that, they are very reputable and have been in business many years.

They have a price match offer and will uphold a 2 year hardware guarantee.

For me, using them is a no brainer when spending out a large amount of cash.

  • I will bare that company in mind. It is a better price than I paid too. I will see what the supplier wants to do. Either replace or he might right me off as a customer and give a refund. Thanks

  • There is a place selling vu+ duo 4k se cheaper that wos at the moment but they are in europe. I have had my eye them but i will not mention them here as wos is the forum sponsor. I don't think wos will match the price though.

Thanks bud, we are not as anal as some forums about that stuff on here, especially if WOS doesn't even sell it or have stock.

Think WOS matches UK prices on brand new goods (you will have to read there fine print lol)

We have issues with tax in the UK since we left the EU.

(i paid £38.50 on 350 Euros worth of goods last week - i received the goods months ago and thought i got away with it - sadly i was wrong )

Honestly for me ( living in the UK), the other price would have to be a load cheaper for me to even consider buying outside the UK.

  • Thats a pain in the butt that you got caught with taxes. When i bought a receiver from germany last year i did not pay any taxes on it. I also bought a spectrum ngo computer which was 240 euros and i was also lucky again. :)
