You don't need to back up the original image; you can download it from the Dreambox website at this link:
It makes sense to perform a backup after you've configured everything you need. You could also perform the backup using a plugin, depending on what you install, or directly from the recovery mode.

My setup guide is just about installing openatv 7.* as a single image.
Its up to you if you want to enable multiboot. Either way, this is just setup instructions, so 95% of this guide is still true for multiboot.

You cannot install chkroot multiboot. It is not available to install. It is built in the images that support it.
If you want to use chkroot multiboot, enable it ( turn it on).
If you do not want to use chkroot multiboot, you don't have to do anything.

Please just flash ATV 7.51, enable the chkroot multiboot. From the plugin servers, Install Xstreamity, m3uiptv, bouquet maker xtreme, EPGImporter.
Install the secret feed, then install oscam-emu

Yes, you can flash/install ATV 7.6.

Like you normally do with any receiver.
Receiver connected with ethernet cable to router
PC connected with ethernet or wifi to router.
Download your chosen image
Extract/unzip the image
Restart receiver in recovery mode.
Enter IP address of receiver in your web browser on PC
