OpenATV build almost nightly. It's up to you whether you update or not. Or when you do it. I keep my receiver updated.
One of the recent updates is to fix the identification of storage devices. Another is to do with multiboot. So worth updating in my opinion.
There is no automatic update, it is a manual one. You have to make it happen. The option is in software management. The receiver has to be on for you to press buttons to update it.
Performing a software update is one thing.
Flashing newest image is a different thing.

We are assuming that you are on on OpenATV. Any image changes and plugins that you installed will be updated.
Which Astra? 1, 2 or 3? Surely better to just say the orbital position? 19.2, 28.2, 23.5?
Which channel are you selecting? Is it free or encrypted?
Does your tuner configuration match what is attached to the tuner?

I installed the latest version of Apple TV 7... on my dreabox 900
I searched for my channels (Astra for me)
when I select a channel, the banner appears but there's no picture
what's happening?
Is it possible they're encrypted? Then if you do a normal recipe and save, you'll find at least some visible channels! These are basic tests.
