VU+ Solo2 + OpenPLi: Tivùsat CI+ module or card-only with OSCam?

    Hi,

    I have a VU+ Solo2 running OpenPLi 8.3-release, and I would like to know if it is possible to use a CI+ (PCMCIA) module with a Tivùsat card (green card).


    More specifically:

    - Is the CI+ (not only CI) module compatible with the VU+ Solo2 hardware?

    - Can a Tivùsat CI+ module + card work on this receiver?

    - Is it possible to use it together with OSCam ?

    - Are there any known limitations with OpenPLi regarding CI+ on this model?

    - Or would the card alone be sufficient, without using a CI+ module?


    I recently own the Tivùsat smartcard, but I do not have the CI / CI+ CAM (PCMCIA module) yet.

    Before buying a CAM compatible with the card, I would like to be sure whether this setup can work on the VU+ Solo2.


    I’m not sure if the CI+ interface is fully supported on the VU+ Solo2, so I’d appreciate feedback from anyone who has tested this setup or has technical knowledge about it.

    NO, it is not possible for the GREEN card to be read on a CAM, only the black card with its CAM4k as shown in the image.

    I have personally tested this on my VU+ devices.

    The GREEN card only works in its official SKY receiver.


    If you are referring to this GREEN card ====> NO !!

    Ok, so, if I understand correctly, the CI+ module itself is compatible with the VU+ Solo2.

    Do I need a specific version of OSCam for this to work properly?

    Normally, OSCAM is used if you do NOT use CAM, but if you have a GREEN card, it is also impossible.

    Currently, OSCAM for the Tivusat card is only GOLD or the old orange or light blue ones.

    Yes, but I think the gold cards or the old orange cards will soon become obsolete.

    From what I’ve read, only the black and green cards will remain, so I would like to choose a solution that will last in the long term.


    If I buy a CAM + black card, then in theory everything should work directly, without using OSCam, if I understand correctly.

    Yes, that's right, if you need to buy a CAM + a Tivusat card, I recommend the black one, then you just need to install the right c+Helper plugin in your image and it works!

    Ok, in that case I will buy the black card.

    Do you think it is possible to activate the card directly using the VU+ Solo2 (for example by tuning to Canale 5 and calling the activation phone number)?

    I also have an official Tivùsat receiver (no CAM) with a green card, but I assume I won’t be able to use it to activate the black card, correct ?

    The Green and Black card, if I remember well, are 1856 ID (not 183d SD or 183e HD/Gold-SilverUHD), so the black Cam working with the black card, could potentially be compatible with the Green 1856 card. Someone tested ?
