Cccam sid assign make a huge difference to the amount of sucsessful ecm handled by your local card, there are programmes to do this for you but this is how i do it and prefer as it saves the need to build a bouquet containing only the channels your card opens. This will stop all requests to your card for channels which it does not open.
There is an auto assign feature in cccam which makes this much easier, here's how it is done

Just let CCCam do the job for you

    1. You set the "SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN" line in Cccam.cfg to a high number. For example 100,
i have a DM500, and my local slot is identified as sci0, so i start setting my line to:

    SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN : /dev/sci0 100 { } and restart my CCCam

    2. Here comes the smart part: Now enter your.dyndns.org:16001 in your webbrowser, and

    choose the "Entitlements" page.

    3. Now, with your DM remote, zap through only the channels that your card opens, and

refresh the entitlements page while you do this, to see the results. CCCam will

automatically choose the correct SIDs as you zap through your channels!,copy & paste the

    assigned sids into your cfg.

    4. When done, count the amount of SIDs assigned in the "Entitlements" page, and now

replace the number 100, which we assigned in the beginning, with the correct amount of

SIDs chosen. So, if your card have 43 SIDs that it opens, your line will now look like:

    SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN : /dev/sci0 43 { sid1, sid2, .....sid43, }

    5. Restart your CCCam and you are done!

  • I wish everybody would SID Assign there cards.
Alot of the failed remore ECM's must be down to cards not being SID Assigned and cccam thinking a card has a channel that it doesn't.

SID Assign your cards everyone and optimize your server.

My thoughts exactly, if everyone used it cccam would run better for all, even full slyhd & espn gets alot of requests for porn/asian/box office channels ect. People forget this. Hopefully the cccam team can add a built in auto sidassign feature to the next version......... that really would make a difference.

  • Sorry for what might be a dumb question,.

Am I right that this only applies to servers with local cards, or will it help if all servers added the script.

If its not broke --- fix it anyway.

  • It's just for locals. You add a line to your cccam.cfg file that tells cccam what channels your card opens, as some cards are used for many different packages and providors and you'll get ECM requests to open a channel you can't.
For example, my card is read by cccam as:
    b00 : 0 CNX-DIGITALB(16E); C+NORD+HD(1W); TNK(13E); MTV UNLIMITED(19E); AKTA TV(5E); KABELKIOSK(9E); DISH TV(95E)
Obviously it doesn't open all of them, but without SID's listed in my cfg, I was getting ECM requests for all of them.

The script posted here is just an easy way to get your SID's whilst channel hopping your channels, but I couldn't get it to work, so read my SID's from DreamBoxEdit instead.

Yes this is for local cards only, but if everyone with local used it all would see the benefit, Every card in your hops is somebodys local.

  • Just to add a few things to G`s tutorial above:
If you view your entitlement/Local Card page either through CS Studio or web browser, and the handled ECM number is higher than the number in brackets eg:
    handled 67(55) ecms
Then your card has been getting requests for channels you can't open. SO GET THIS DONE NOW

    3. You can zap through all your channels whether your card can unlock them or not. Only the ones your card unlocks will appear in the Entitlements page.
Obviously you have to wait for the channel to clear before moving on to the next.
Also, you dont have to copy and paste each one individually after zapping. You can zap through all your channels, then copy and paste the long line of SID's from the Entitlement page into your cfg.

After a Cam/enigma/box restart, they all vanish and it starts again, so get them into your gonfig.

It is essential to change the number of sid's value in the config line to the correct number, as if you have it even 1 over then you'll continue to get ECM requests for channels you dont have.

  • there is still a downside to the sid assign and that is you need to keep it updated at all times. If something changes and you don't change with it you will be missing channels. Please remember that!

  • Yes I agree. But shouldn't take long to do it once every month or 2.

I've connected to some servers, even members from here, where you get like 10% OK ECM's!
Surely this is putting unnecessary strain on everyones servers.

  • totally agree!! this is very obvious in the case that G put : a platform which contains different packages for example.....we wouldn?t then see the 10% ecm ok that DDADDY mentions..remember reducing requests=reducing traffic=reducing unnecessary internet usage and leaving some for other web programmes as I for one only have a 10mb/600k connection !!!

  • i've used cccam sid assigner to produce a sid list.

although it produces the hole line to go directly into the cam file, it doesnt seem to add the sid's and enter the number at the beginning?

heres my example "SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN : /dev/sci0 0"

no idea why, but i added them up and changed the second 0 to the total sid's

You will know if its worked by looking in the local card tab in cccam info. Heres an example

I have this line in my cfg

    SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN : /dev/ttyS1 0 { 189D,189E,274C,23FB,18BF,125F,13F0,13EF,1978,1968,196A,1771,1775,1777,18AF,1910,2756,2814,2758,1778,CC0B,1772,1710,C47C,1537,D2FF,CFDF,27B5,1979,1DB5,1C85,207B,2071,206C,2094,240E,2879,287A,CCBF,CCC4,253C,CB86,D35E,C6D7,C7A6,168A,CC08,1843,1DBF,122F,C5B7,1DC8,D7AB,1B64,2581,2582,2583,158B,151A,C6C0,CCCE,1A50,1773,CC06,1E1E,1E1F,1E23,1E24,2815,271F,13A1,D6DA,D749,CC97,D332,CF9A,CFEE,CC1A,CB5C,D74F,CB58,CB9D,D323,D3C0,D2FB,CCC9,1DCE,CFDA,D6ED,D7AE,CD2D,13F3,183B,CCDD,CCD8,11FC,1456,1965,1DB0,1DC4,196C,1DCA,D356,CB84,D43F,1840,CCE2,D00C,D016,183D,D020,CB90,CD32,D3BD,D74B,D2F9,D37C,D7CF,D395,2404,2409,1652,1592,CB89,CB22,CC60,CC65,CF75,D6E5,CF76,CB99,D0FC,D101,12FC,1B59,1B5D,1B5F,1B5E,1B66,1B5B,1B5A,1B60,1B61,2EE5,2EE0,2EEA,2EF4,C5D5,C5D0,CC8D,CC83,CC4C,2EEF,CF99,C5C6,D7A2,CC51,CC56,CC5B,CB2A,CC6F,CB25,C6C2,D057,C4AE,D7C1,1260,CD46,1A30,1A31,CB8F,1BE4,CC38,D7F0,1223,C743,139D,C69F,C758,CB66,C7A4,C7A3,1839,183C,183F,1841,183E,183A,1220,1221,1222,122D,138B,D421,1966,1DBA,197A,CCB5,1969,1DE2,16AA,CCBA,CCB0,2484,CBC9,CCD3,C75B,CB9F,CB8B,C759,D6D9,CB21,C74B,D3C3,D6DD,CBBE,C73D,D333,D32C,D377,CB88,1BBC,1BBF,1BBE,15B8,15B9,15BA,1A94,1586,2329,232F,232C,2332,18AD,1912,15BB,CC74,CC6A,1BBD,1591,D025,2757,232A,C7C9,CC79,CC89,CC7F,232B,CC92,D7D3,1C3E,D386,D35A,253B,D03E,CD1E,D42B,D357,D043,D360,D066,D048,D746,2541,1C52,CB26,D740,D458,D361,C4E0,CB8D,D748,C4F9,CD42,253D,D368,D070,D04D,D155,CD41,C5CB }
