  • Yes it is buddy

Not sure if there is any difference in speed/access....you may find the HDD via USB a bit quicker as the HDD inside may go into a sleep mode when not in use!

Either way Yes you can....just set it up in your Menu Settings for you image (mount)

  • Yep easy as plug in and go....kinda lol

Make sure your using a drive with nothing on and formatted fat32 (although box can do this)

Plugin and from Menu go to settings and look for Mount or Intialize (Intialize will format it) depending on image (vix automounts i believe)

select your HDD from list that shows up...it should detect it and job done

Fie structure should be made on HDD and this will now be used as HDD for receiver!

  • Just be aware that sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss when getting a HDD that works with certain receivers, especially closed source receivers. Even enigma based receivers can have certain compatibility issues, or issues arising from not enough power being provided to the USB port. Chances are you will find one that works if you have a few lying around, but if you are buying one especially, then it is best to ask around to see what has worked for others. If you are buying a USB powered 2.5" drive then you may need to use a powered hub on certain receivers, or scrap that idea and go for an external powered 3.5" drive. Some mature receivers such as the Vu+ you will find that most things you throw at it will work!

If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....
