    I have a new Ferguson 102e
    I have updated the firmware
    I have installed a patch
    As read on forum
    I am trying to install my Cline, I go to networking setup
    App selection
    I select Newcamd Client
    Press red edit button
    Now the problem starts
    After pressing the edit button I see from top of page down
    Server Number 1
    Url blank.....do I put something in here?
    Ping
    Port...Port
    User name
    Start
    Login
    I put my port numbers in
    I put user name in
    I put password in
    Press start
    Press login...it then says connected
    Obviously I cant connect to scrambled channels
    So please what do I insert into Url so as to allow me to ping

    You need to put in your dyndns address or ip address into url.
    eg: if your cline looks something like this:
    c: somebody.dyndns.com port user pass
    You need to put the "somebody.dyndns.com" part into your url.


    If your sharing internally (have your own server setup),
    Your cline would look something like this
    c: 192.168.1.102 port user pass
    Then your internal ip goes into your url (the 192.168.1.102 part of the cline)

    Still in trouble, I put c: xxxxxxx.dyndns.tv into the url, tried to ping still failing
    I put a space after c:
    After it wouldn't ping I rebooted the box, went into newcamd client edit and the c: xxxxxx.dyndns.tv info was all over the place
    Just c was in url
    both port numbers were empty
    username was dyn
    password dns
    Is it possible I have installed the wrong firmware and patch
    Firmware was A102E _20140428_V1.26B3.abs
    Patch 1679d1393529604

    I have tried every way possible inputting info into url still unable to ping/view scrambled channels
    On the network setting page I am inputting username/password autoconnect to yes
    Press login button successful
    its then reads CA TYPE1 NDS...I don't know if this sheds any more light on the subject
    Also do I need to manually input my Lan Mac address

    I have installed the patch you suggest, the patch is a php file is this correct
    Can you please direct me from the start
    I do a factory reset, all it clears are the channel lists
    What do I then install is it just the php file or do I also install the firmware .abs package


    I do know my connection is good and the line works in my other box, I am trying to set this one up as a spare
    The working box is powered off and the Ethernet cable disconnected before I try the 102e box

    Many thanks for your perseverance in this matter
    Your last instruction ref me seeing php files might help me immensely
    Over four hours today its been
    1. factory reset
    2. allcode+bootloader/upgrade file V1.26B3.abs
    3. Trying to patch all I was getting was... no files
    Now I see why, I will read your links and hopefully I will succeed
    I was thinking of trying RS232 but I need to buy the cable
    I will try now....if I fail I will take up your personal message offer

    No problem, just hit thanks button under post.
    If your buying an RS232 cable, make sure it's a null modem cable you purchase.
    Handy to have if you get "ASH" error up on screen as it is the only way to bring the receiver back to life after a bad flash afaik.

    I changed compatability view and the patch downloaded as a rar ext file
    Do I need to somehow extract a certain file from the rar file?
    1. factory reset
    2. allcode+bootloader/upgrade file V1.26B3.abs
    After upgrade unit reboots, then all I see is the V1.26B3.abs...no additional files namely the rar patch
    I have tried formatting three separate USB sticks always the same result no patch can be found
    If there is anything else you can think of I would appreciate it
    I am working away all day tomorrow
    So early Friday I will be online

    Latest, I opened the patch/rar file and extracted just the patch
    Loaded onto 102e no problems
    Using my other box to ping server all I need is to put IN xxxxx.dyndns.xx and it pings OK
    I have tried that way with the 102e without success
    Do you think I need to input everything in i.e. xxxx.dyndns.XX...then both ports
    then username then password
    autoconnect then login...and then try and ping
    One last question
    Because I am using newcamd would I put/try c:...or n:
    also is there a space between : and the first server letter

    Hi,
    If you have a c-line, use cccam as emu. It will only ask for port once. Enter just the dyndns address in url. (leave out the "c: and space")
    If you have an n-line, use newcamd client as emu. Enter just the dyndns address in url. (leave out the N: and space"). It asks for port twice, just input same port in both fields.
    C-line looks like this "c: xxx.dyndns.xx port user pass"
    N-line looks like this "N: xxx.dyndns.xx port user pass 0102030405060708091011121314"

    Setup everything, it says connected to NDS, still scrambled
    I reboot NDS changes to unknown still scrambled
    Could the stb be a dud?

    Issue resolved
    I was able to try another line which worked perfectly
    newcamd would not work at all on the 102e


    Without the help from codar I would still be in a fix
