With some persistence, I got the BA to work 100%. In general terms, I'll list the steps I took, but they are basically what has been repeated here:

Step 1: Preparing the Pen

Format the pen

Step 2: Flash and Image Configuration

Flash the image via the rescueMenu: DreamOS: https://dreamboxupdate.com/ope…le/images/dm900/index.php.

Reboot the box and configure the image.

Step 3: Installing Essential Packages

. kernel-module-nfsd_3.14-r0.40_armhf.deb

. pigz_2.3.3-r0.4_armhf.deb

. tar_1.28-r0.4_armhf.deb

. xz_5.2.2-r0.4_armhf.deb

Insert the pen into the Dreambox.

Reboot the box.

Step 4: Install the BA and reboot the box

Same problem on Pc and android... different FTP clients. On flash imagem FTP works ok...

I've already tried:

- Install the backup directly to the flash: FTP OK

- Barry Allen with an image installed from scratch: FTP Ko

- Older Unsatble image on flash with a BA file with the same version but from a different source (not sure if it was the same as this thread): FTP KO

Yes, you need to set password before any online conection but the problem is not related to that...

I can acess with samba, SFTP... but not with FTP...

After testing OpenMultiboot, Barry Allen, and Neoboot, I conclude that Barry Allen remains the king of multiboot...

I thought my setup was sorted and I could continue using this plugin, but I ran into a problem: FTP doesn’t work, which prevents me from using Dreambox Edit.

It’s definitely a Barry Allen issue, because the same backup installed directly on the flash works fine.

Has anyone else encountered this or knows a way to work around this problem to use FTP / Dreambox Edit with images loaded via BA?

Installed Barry Allen 12.9 on my Dreambox 900.

Everything seems fine, but FTP doesn’t work, so I can’t use Dreambox Edit.

Same image works fine when installed directly on flash.

Any ideas to fix or work around this BA limitation?

I think you're right. In flash there must be a nude dreamos to be used only for SD installations. So the flash image doesn't seem to be as usable as passata wrote

It seems to be working fine.

I'm still going to try neoboot. I have a lot of unanswered questions, but sticking with a multiboot plugin that's stuck in the past doesn't seem like a good solution either...

And about neoboot? Is it compatible with DM900? Does it allow backups?

I've been researching but I still have doubts.

After many years of using Barry Allen on my Dreambox 900 UHD, I've had to move on. I'm currently testing OpenMultiboot, but I've found two problems:

1. The boot do not have a menu to choose the image I want to load (I've already activated the option, but it still doesn't work).
2. And, this is the problematic one: I don't see a backup option.

Is it possible to make backups through Openmultiboot? Are there any other alternatives that allow backups?

I live in Portugal and I have a 1.20m motorized dish. It captured the BBC-Satback package at 15w with about 55% signal. The last time I checked, at the beginning of April, it was still like that.

I went back there yesterday and my signal oscillates between 0% and 35% signal. It is not an dish adjustment problem because neighboring satellites continue to be received with the same signal.

According to the King of Sat website, there was no change in this satellite. Flysat indicates a change in April. Probably just an added channel but I'm not sure.

Has anyone else noticed any changes in the reception of this satellite?

Until some weeks ago, I received all Astra 3B channels with medium quality-signal.

Some transpoders (TPs) have changed to 3C-West (example: 12070.5 H). I receive these 3C-West migrated TPs very powerful.

Other TPs I suspect that have migrated to 3C-East (examples: 11934V or 11973V), and I don´t receive enough signal at all since some weeks ago. In satellite webs they are still asigned to 3B, but I receive other 3B TPs with the same signal as usual, and for that reason, in my opinion, these TPs must be now in 3C-East.

So, 3 very different beams at this moment, with very different coverage in some areas.

Regardless of footprint, the issue is: I lost signal from transponders that i have a strong signal before. And according with bellejt and kalkan99, some changes are happening on satellite...
