I find using ftp quite slow compared to transferring to usb drive.

For anyone that's interested, Disk Internals Linux Reader will read your usb disk and allow you to copy the recordings over to your windows drive.

I think its quicker then using ftp.

    Thanks for the replies.

Hi all, a few weeks ago i decided i would like to remove all my recordings from the internal hard drive on my vu+ and save them on my pc.

I got an External USB hard disk, plugged it into the front usb socket and initialized it from the vix menu.

I copied all my recordings over (3 full season of MotoGP !) and checked they were there, all good !

So today i needed to use my External USB hard drive for something else. I plugged it in the pc (windows7 64bit) and uh oh ! cant read it !

I realized its formatted Ext3 and windows doesn't like it, so i did some research and downloaded a program called Disk Internals Linux Reader.

Woo Hoo ! all my recordings are there !! Only 1 problem, how do i get them off and save them to my pc ??

Has anyone got a way of transferring the recordings this way or am i going to have to put the usb drive back in the vu+ and ftp the lot over the net !

There must be a better way :)

Anyway, thanks for reading, merry christmas and all that and please post if you can help !

    Thanks.

Hi all, this is absolutely driving me crazy ! I don't have much hair as it is and i'm pulling more of it out !

For some reason, audio narrative and subtitles have suddenly started apearing on some but not all channels and i can't get rid of them.

I've read and read over and over on which settings to try and tried them all but nothing will get rid of the subtitles.

I also seem to have lost the option to change the audio from the audio button on the remote.

I've just flashed the box with the latest vix thinking this will fix the issue. put all my plugins back, loaded my cam and channels all from

fresh (not restored from a backup) and the subtitles are still there !!!!

The best I can do is make them small and in a corner.

Please can some one shed some light on this for me. I know this subject has been brought up many times and i've tried all the solutions previously offered,

    nothing works for me.

Yes the time is set correctly, the programmes always start recording 3min before as defined in the settings but stop early. I don't think its a file size problem, the recordings are usually 90mins or less of HD or SD.
Not sure what else to check. I set the recording from the epg by adding timer (green button) then leave everything else set as it shows in the menu.
I'll do some more tests and see what results i get.

    Hi all,
I'm running the latest vix apollo, but also had this problem before with hades.
Every time i set up a timer recording from the EPG, it stops recording a few minutes before the end of the program. I've checked the settings in the recordings menu and set it to start 3 mins before and end 5 mins after but it makes no difference.
Any ideas what i'm doing wrong ?

    Cheers

Thanks for the advice guys, ive managed to get my head around it now.

The first time I tried autobouquet maker, all it did was add all the channels to "last scanned" so I removed all the bouquets and scanned again.
This time when I ran autobouquet maker it created new bouquets which I have edited in DBE to suit.

    :)

Hi guys, I hope this is in the right section.

I have a vu+ duo running vix 1.66, if I do a full scan, is it possible to then organise the channels into bouquets automatically or do I have to use dreambox edit to create them manually (which sounds like a real pain !)

I would like to delete all my old bouquets, do a full scan and then create new bouquets with the new channels found in the scan, I guess a bit like catseye does.

    any help please ?

Hi guys, please could anyone tell me if this is possible and how to configure if so.

My setup - vu duo, tuner A fixed dish at 28.2e, tuner B fixed dish at 13e, vix image Apollo 1.31

I would like to setup the system to be able to watch/record different channels at the same time like s*y plus.

my thoughts are to keep tuner A as it is on 28.2e then install a diseqc switch on tuner B with inputs from the 28.2e dish and 13e dish.
Would this setup allow me to record from 28.2e and watch another channel on 28.2e (different tp) ?

If so, how would I configure my tuners ?

Ive had the vu duo for about 6 weeks and have managed to setup everything by reading/learning from you guys so thanks for that !!

Both dishes have quad lnbs btw.
