    (1) Do I have to format the hdd in my PC first, or not?

No not a Must as Receiver can do when you intialise

    (2) If I do have to format it, what do I use, FAT32 or NTFS?

FAT32 only on anything Linux/Sat reciever related! HDD, USB e.t.c

    (3) Can it be a SDD drive?

Never tried but can't see why not! As long as its 2.5 and has sata connectors

    (4) What's the Min and Max capacity I can install? (i.e. 40 Gb to 2 Tb)

No Min or Max, just perhaps be aware of old HDD with slower response times!

if its on the same network all you need is ip address of receiver buddy

    Type IP Address into Host
    Type Username is Username
    Type password in password!

User and Pass will be root and dreambox by default, or if you have used a backup image it is normally noted at the bottom!

    No port required

Delete a Channel or Channel list?

While selecting a channel in the channel lists menu you can press [menu] on remote and you should see a load of options, one of which should be delete / remove channel?

or you can can download DreamBoxEdit and connect to you solo2 that way and alter/delete/rename any channels in your channel list and resend back to box

Hi there. Just wondered where you have [account] what goes in place of this in the configuration? All the config files have something with square brackets around at the top of each part and I am not sure if these need changing and if so, what to.

I now have a Twin OE but want to use my own card in it with auto update. If anyone can help please get in touch.

[account] should be left as it is mate, its just a note/separator of accounts! as you setup accounts/shares e.t.c each user will have [account] followed by the account details e.t.c

You will need the configs for your card from here
Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall or here Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall

and then you will need to install Oscam on you box and setup using the configs for your card so that it reads the card

You will need an account normally buddy!

    Istuff - Itunes/Apple Account

    Android - Google Account

With this account you should be able to download apps (free or at a cost) from the google or apple app store! (for paid apps you may need to link a card - i suggest prepaid credit card lol)

Good post here explaining it all buddy!

    http://linuxsat-support.com/introductions/17101-hi-all.html

Read through the posts and info provided and you should be up to speed with what you need and what the possibilities are (FOR EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY)

Then you will need the information contained within to get setup once you having something to SHARE with as SHARING is CARING!

Also I need picons for same satelites, for big lcd screen of gigablue quad(Big not small)

Not to sure about Picons for the LCD Screen, you may have to resize or something but im sure someone will shout how!

    Picons can be found here
Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall

Most have an image or 2 of what they look like!

You may also be able to grab picons from your Image addons panel! or through TSPanel plugin which you can install manually using ipk on forum!!

Have a look in Image Addons 1st - should be something like Menu > Plugins (then an option to download plugins from server think red button lol)

You should now see options for extra addons seperated in sections (channel lists, picons, plugins e.t.c or similar) - go into picons and have a look for Sats you want!

Picons should be Downloaded to USB or HDD in a picons folder so if you dont like what you have installed just delete and try another set!

Silverfox and Black picons look quite nice....but i dont have all the Sats like you so havent seen them on the others!

Lol tooth probably better to install cams 1st!

2 options install LSS addons plugin from forum (sorry on iPhone) this will give you Cams you need

or you could use a solo2 backup Image! I'm sure Te. Has done one with Oscam and Cccam installed and configured so should be simple enough to install one of those then add your lines to it!

    ????

Grab Cccam.cfg from backup or other box and FTP it to /etc on new box!
if you have Cccam cam installed on Reciever it will pick it up from that location!

    1 GB????? no chance buddy!

should be under or around 80-100mb mark me thinks from last checking!

Either way any Image will load/flash onto that box using internal space! just don't add any picons and plugins without
using USB attached to port or an internal HDD (2.5). But no immediate rush buddy!

    Any problems post back!

Very Brief and Quickly put together but hopefully this should help buddy!

I find it easier to click the 'Go Advanced' button as it gives you larger window with more options

If you are copying and pasting text from other windows/site i always find it better to COPY and PASTE into notepad 1st and then from there into post window!
(then you dont get the text styling, white background e.t.c from original source! - if not just paste then highlight all the text and restyle using text properties in top bar of your message/post section)

The rest should explain itself - it the Go Advanced window you get moe options for styling, organising your post! Most of stuff you will use are found in shots below

Remember Preview Post prior to Submit to double check everything! if you need more post space you can use the drag button in corner to resize the window!

    Hopefully thats helps!

    :firework:

Don't quote me but in a nutshell I think it's a Case of old code conflicting with new images so to speak! LSS addon sourced from new plugin code I thinks lolol better to use LSS addons and install anything else from feeds or manually IMO

    Glad you got sorted

    Look in top menu buddy

    OpenVix

Open that and scroll down to Gigablue Quad and there you will find latest version for you box (will be standard though no plugins)

Doesn't seem to be a LinuxSat Support backup image so you could be the 1st to create one lol!

Download latest version, perhaps also the LSS addons panel to get quick access to main stuff!

If you need a hand with any plugins or problems post back buddy!

Are you entering lines through UI of box (manually) or have you copied Cccam.cfg file to USB and are trying to upload it?

Ensure the line (s) are laid out correctly in the CCcam.cfg file and you save it as .cfg extension (Use Notepad ++) copy to root of USB

Steps should be something like this!

1: Insert USB and Go into the main menu
2: Select Network, enable your network and set the IP address to DHCP. Go back to network.
    3: Select "CCcam Client Setup"
4: Select 'Update files by usb'
5: On new window, highlight 'CCcam.cfg', press green button on remote (ADD). This will place a tick by it, the press yellow button on remote (READ)
6: Once finished, select 'Manage Config Files' and on new window select cccam.cfg again
7: A new page comes up with your cline on it, press green button on remote to make it active (tick should appear by it) Exit out of all menus to tv and select a channel (may need to reboot box or it may reboot itself can't remember lol)

If you want to do it manually do the following

a] instead of update by usb on ccccam client setup, go directly to Manage Config Files and select CCcam.cfg from new window
b] Press Blue button on remote
c] your cline will look something like this>>> C: example.cline.org 12000 user pass
d] ON add cline window, leave Protocol as CCcam
e] Host: here you would enter example.cline.org portion of your cline using remote number buttons like you was sending a text
f] Port: here you put 12000
    g] User, write 'user' here
    f: Password, write 'pass' here
g] Press ok and go up to instruction number 7
