I have tried in astra 1N and also Eutelsat and neither of them open so I presume an "extra package" sub is needed to open it.

Haven´t used through xbmc but directly to ipad ,android through webif...
I use remote channel stream converter in BH image with no problem to another vu+.

I would check the cable connecting to LNB and dish setup as you say it works in another room

you can view wherever your dish is point at and whichever subscription card you have through satellite..

However as you have already been asking about iptv for the mag then you should use this as a prerequisite for your new stb.

The cheapest would be an SD Enigma1 box but then you wouldn´t enjoy HD or E2 plugins therefore you should also go for an Enigma2 box ..
So you want an opensource Enigma2 box with some decent ram...
My advice is save up some more and go for the best box you can afford..
"Cheap usually ends up being the most expensive"" and do not fall for any "vu+clones" or the like ;)

Good now that you have everything back,, but I would certainly try find out what the story is with the usb..
As you say you tried a BH image giving the same result..
stick the usb into the pc and see how it is formatted....

if you have Ts media already installed then go to tools and see if there is a possible update.
Although I do recall reading that oe.1.6 stopped being supported...
So as inspiral commented most images are oe 2.0 based now..

Once you have FTP the IPK over to var/volatile/tmp then
go into TELNET and write or copy and paste this command:

opkg update

then

opkg install /tmp/*.ipk

then FULL REBOOT
After this press BLUE then arrow to find the cam > OK then come out
Once it is set up you can then add your own personal configs ,etc

is the solo2 still under guarantee before it goes into surgery???

what box , image and version are you using?
Have you got crossepg and cooltvguide set up ??
cooltvguide is graphical and can be downloaded either from our lss panel or from imagfe feeds depending on image..

the first post is intended for a solo not a solo2..
however:
I assume you mean Black Hole image?
press BLUE twice >go into SPEED UP > HbbTV enabled( its at the end of list)
press RED to save
FULL reboot/restart
now go to a channel that provides HbbTV and when prompted just press RED button and it will come up on screen..
note: I can only get la sexta to work on DTT not sat..
