It is not possible to backup everything... The flash is too small...

I do not find it advantageous to do the backup if using this kind of trick to expand the flash...

As a principle: before you do anything, like flashing again or if you have a problem and you need to investigate, i.e. you might have to re-flash everything from scratch, then yes - better go back to booting from flash. Only that part (minimal image and some plugins) can you make a full backup of. Not everything, as it will be bigger than 256MB!

So, in the pManager > Scripts, one must reverse the expansion, as you said, then make a partial backup of whatever you did before you expanded to USB stick or mSD card. I have one such broken box to prove that this is not to be taken lightly - this logic should be respected, it seems to me...

I think you should return the second H9S, then top it up a bit and buy H9 Combo (terrestrial and satellite tuners) or Twin (2 x satellite tuner), as they have native multiboot (5 partitions in all, 4 of them for Enigma2) and 8GB flash, WiFi, slot for HDD to be plugged in etc. No need to expand anything there, like with H9S!

Alternatively, mid-December H10 is coming, plus some other models...

Here is a scoop: H9 series with enough flash space (Combo/Twin) will also get Android, as there is an Android partition already waiting for them....

It is not clear how well will Android OS work with only 1GB of RAM, though....

New H10 will have 2GB of RAM, so Kodi should be OK then, we hope....

    But we must wait... ;)

Translator or not - it makes no difference... It's just another 5 seconds more to hit the button "translate", so don't try to hide so obviously behind that... All my objections still stand!

I.e. you did not make the minimal effort of giving me the necessary information to see what you are doing - how can I help you if I can't see what you are doing, so I can tell you what you are doing wrong?

I am so not going to start writing it all over again, from scratch.... I mean, what would be the point? You could easily come back and say "Help me, it's not working"...

Well, I say "it is working"! I made the effort. That means I an helping! That means I do want to help! My actions here prove it! So, don't start with this "gentleman" thing, since I am one, proven by my actions all over the internet, over 2 decades of being in the hobby! Please, I have had enough of this kind of silly "emotional blackmail", esp. from the people who are frequently just darn lazy to make the minimal effort....

Now, it's your turn to make the effort! If you do not - I will presume you do not need any help, that you now did exactly as I described above and that all is working...

For your satellite channels list, related to Enigma2 STBs...

If you need to scan your area you need a good satellites.xml file, with all the satellites in your area and all transponders (TPs) for each satellite, which you can make for yourself here (if one is not readily available):

satellites.xml creator - if one doesn't have one's area already catered for!!!

    More info here:

Getting technical with C-Band - try this, I put in ALL the satellites....

Also, read through this and related threads: Best image for zgemma H9S

    Good luck!

OK, I have not paid attention to this, obviously, since I live in EU, so...

I had a look here: https://en.kingofsat.net/pos-58W.php - somewhat limited coverage, only to "Atlantic region"...

Also here: https://www.lyngsat.com/america.html - much better, all around the globe...

    One can see:

-C-Band (large dish needed, specific LNB, lower frequencies [3 - 4.000]) and

-Ku-Band (small dish with universal LNB, higher frequencies, [11 - 12.000])

packages being in use in Americas: https://www.lyngsat.com/DirecTV-9S-and-SES-1-and-T-16.html

I noticed that packages in Atlantic/Americas region use various encryption systems like PV, Irdeto2, Nagra3, Videoguard etc. So, similar to EU.

Not sure which of those are hacked (= one can watch with OSCam Emu, like the one explained here:

OSCam Emu Config Mario for all PV providers), sooooo....

Perhaps newbies (to Enigma2 especially) would be helped if you guys shared the info in one place...

Who specialises in keys for Americas? Is there a thread on this forum with always updated SoftCam.Key for Americas?

Which packages can be opened with a key/Emulator (i.e. which ones are "hacked", so there is no need for internet connection) and which ones by using CS (= Card Sharing - one needs an internet connection for that)?

You can exchange the complete configuration files for OSCam here, too... or just "tips" for various parts of OSCam config...

    Good luck!

OK but this is all a bit scholastic (see, if you are only using one tuner - why does it matter which one works, so long as one does work?) and I feel silly asking these basic questions, since you are an experienced guy, well versed in the topic...

But since you are asking it would be impolite not to cover all the possibilities... So, let's see if the HW is kaput/dead...

At my end it looks like this...

    TUNER A CONFIGURATION

I have the same situation in one of my stations, at home: my H9 Twin (2 x DVB-S/S2X tuner) has only 1 cable and I have to remember which one is the default one (the one toward the middle of the box).

So, as an experienced lad I presume you tried it all as follows:

    1) MENU > Setup > Service searching > Tuner configuration (one which works is configured as "Tuner A" in my situation - but the other one ("Tuner B") is NOT CONFIGURED > save when done.

-Now, go to > Signal Finder - if you get the signal note down the settings in Tuner A, then

-go out, all the way and - you have the picture...

    2) Go back to "tuner configuration" menu and disable the working tuner (NOT CONFIGURED) > Save > go out all the way and put the receiver into Standby using your RCU.

    3) Change/swap the cable i.e. put the cable into the other tuner and

    TUNER B CONFIGURATION

    4) repeat the step no. 1, i.e. configure the tuner B the same way as Tuner A, which you know works, then Save/OK...

Do you now get the signal in Signal finder, the same level as in Tuner A? Like so:

    b90530c71f2311450be4c6b9f.png

If you do have the signal, the same way as in Tuner A, your HW is well functioning, of course...

    If not...

CHANGE THE LNB, I.E. PUT THE ONE YOU KNOW WORKS WELL

    5) One should logically ask a the following question, that should show us if the HW/tuner is dead: if you now put back the otherwise working LNB > Tuner B also works, i.e. you have the signal in both tuners, with a different LNB?

Curious to see the outcome... If you do get the signal in both tuners only with one of the LNBs - it's a mystery....

    PREFERRED TUNER SETTING WHEN RECORDING

P.S. Have you noticed: MENU > Setup > System > Recording settings > Preferred tuner for recording, in case you have 2 cables going to your box and both have the signal but you want to make sure you can watch something on Tuner A, while recording on Tuner B? Just mentioning... ;)

I don't feel like helping?!?!?!? Look above. Does that look to you like I am not willing to help? Hellooooo?!?

OK, in that case I have to say, equally vaguely, "it seems like you do not understand"...

Can you put yourself into my shoes for a moment? Yes? OK....

See, this is typical of many users: one DOESN'T WANT TO WRITE anything at all ("it doesn't work" or "you missed a bit" or something absolutely vague like that) - BUT one wants me to start writing a somewhat complex procedure, i.e. EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN, FROM SCRATCH and to be precise in GUESSING what he (the user) "missed".... BUT STRICTLY without the user saying anything at all... So, start the hard work yet again, gorski, because I can't be bothered/I do not want to work even a tiny bit, to explain what it is that I did and "couldn't find" or "figure out" etc. etc.

OK, let me go fetch my crystal ball...

    0) Forget about wooshbuild! PurE2 has MUCH more to offer! Just open up your mind, learn a bit and then reap the rewards...

Preparation: you need either a USB stick or an mSD card. Anything up to 64GB or even more.... Once you flash the image into the H9S you will need to move the root ( = / ) to an external device, so you get all the space you need.

Since Zgemma h9S flash is very small - 256MB only - there is not enough space for everything, including FNC plugins.

It is easy to enlarge it, though, as it is in the scripts that come with the image. Do it using the remote in a jiffy....

    1) How to install it? Flashing, backup and restore settings on Zgemma H9 series

    Use this one: zgemmah9s-PurE2-6.5-20201027_usb.zip

Once you install it you will need to configure it. How? See this section - STICKIES. All the help for PurE2 is here!

    2) Now, moving of whatever is on Zgemma H9x: Expanding Zgemmas H9x and H9.2x flash to a Micro SD card or USB stick 2.0/3.0...

    3) Once you are done with that and reboot you can go for FNC plugins like this: Fabulous FNC plugins by Franc (for PurE2 users)!!!

Make sure to send various files to proper folders, that would make everything run smoothly...

Fear not!!! I made all the effort needed for end users to succeed - even with minimal knowledge!!! Mark my words!

Just be patient! Do as you read... In a day or two you will love it!!!

    Good luck!
